If you're in West Yorkshire you MUST visit the K&WV Railway. Famous for the Railway Children, this line runs between Keighley and Oxenhope. They've amazing steam trains and vintage carriage stick running and the volunteer staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. My advice is that you get a Rover ticket and you can ride as much as you like all day. Fantastic value.

We had a great day on the railway in our own Pullman carriage. Midday buffet meal was served afternoon tea style by excellent, friendly and efficient staff. Tea and coffee available throughout the day with continuous end to end runs in wonderful countryside. I have visited this railway since 1969 and always enjoyed my trip. Fully recommended, five stars.

A great way to spend a day on this great little railway, stopping at a few of the stations and taking in the views and all the history of this fantastic railway. Oakworth being the most famous , from the film THE RAILWAY CHILDREN definitely worth a visit.

Lucky enough to see the Flying Scotsman there. Well organised and friendly volunteer staff. Only slight criticism was that we weren't able to return to Keighley by train and this meant a long journey home via bus.

Lovely railway to visit, the Oxenhope station has plenty of free parking and easy access to the booking hall and platform. Toilets on platform as well as a buffet coach. Also situated here is the museum with some really interesting exhibits like the Pannier Tank from the railway children and a Pug locomotive. Definitely recommend visiting the railway and would recommend to start your day from this station, you won't be disappointed!

Great steam railway with friendly staff. This month (May), they have various events with the famous "Flying Scotsman" . We'll worth a visit with or without.

Visited for the Beer and music festival in October. Love the smell of the steam and the real fires at most of the stations. Meeting lots of interesting people over the course of the weekend, volunteers and visitors.

Went on the Elf train with my 6 year old son. I am in a wheelchair but it was lovely as the accessible spot was actually in a proper carriage, so i felt really included. Staff excellent and experience magical.

We traveled to Oxenhope to take the stream train to Haworth. It was amazing!! Definitely recommend. The scenery was incredible. The old brick houses are so different from Canada. Loved the old architecture.

Lovely oldy worldy feel station with gift shop and cafe in parked train, plus toilets and good size car park. I didn't get chance to visit the museum but lucky to see the steam train! Tasty bacon sandwich and parkin biscuits 😁

A lovely little line with some interesting stations along the way, especially the shortest Damems. The model shop there, at Haworth, is good with a selection of locos, scenery and all the staff were chatty and friendly.

A lovely day out and fully restored Steam Train, travel up and down & get off to visit the museum and shed. Learn about the dozens of films and TV series that have used their trains and carriages over the years. Including The Railway Children film, ride the train along the same track from the film. Aust for all train enthusiasts as well as families. Grab a drink in the buffet carriage on the train or stop off for a bite to eat at one of the stations on the way. You can easily spend the best part of a day here.

A very quaint railway with some wonderful views of the countryside. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. The bonus is the real ale buffet car, and being able to relax with a drink to enjoy a wonderful ride. Fabulous steam locomotives, and also interesting deisel rolling stock ti ride on. Gift shops and great buffet at stations too.

Nice day out with plenty of free parking at Oxenhope Station. The Flying Scotsman Festival was Brill. Remember to gey off at Harworth and walk up the steep hill to the Bronte museum at the top.

Parked at the station to ride on The Flying Scotsmen. Very well organised, we parked at the station, there were additional toilets and the shed contained a bar area, cafe area with seating and a gift shop. On the platform is a carriage turned into a cafe and lots of flowers so it looks lovely. Staff really friendly and smiled so great customer service.

Brilliant day out on New Year's Eve. Lovely steam engine and a great pint. What more could a middle aged man seek. I should add I do volunteer on the railway....

Suggest if visiting KVR start from Oxenhope. Very well presented ticket office and gas lit station. Car parking easy..free and picturesque and drive to it very scenic. Small shop adequate . Engine exhibition sheds open at 09.30 and well worth visiting prior to first engine of the day at 10.00 Engines both working and awaiting restoration. Didn't do all of shed so ended our day on the line revisiting to complete what we hadn't done.

A wonderful step back in time. The family rover ticket is great value for money. I highly recomend you get off at every stop and explore the surrounding areas. The museums are great for young and old alike. The trains are a wonderful example of a bygone era. The kids and us adults had a wonderful day.

Interesting to visit this excellent preserved railway. Everything lovingly cared for, from locomotives, to the buildings and station gardens. Good museums at Ingrow West.

I have been on two occasions, once on a normal running day and again during the Flying Scotsman - Ride the Legend event. Both were very cool experiences. There is parking at Oxenhope, however during events it fills up so I had to park on a street nearby. There is toilets and places to sit whilst waiting for the train. This can be useful as sometime the toilets on the train are out of use. There is also a shop which sells KWVR merchandise, generic railway merchandise, merchandise specific to events, and an impeccable ice cream👌

Visited for the flying scotsman festival, and we had an amazing time. It felt like an honour to sit in the Pullman carriage pulled by the legend. The station is immaculate and clearly well cared for, and it is obvious that the staff and volunteers enjoy being there 5*

What can I say about this gem of a railway, so much nostalgia with or without the Railway Children connection. Its not to be missed if you are in the area, I would recommend the day rover, this allowed us unlimited travel throughout the day, and although its only five miles long, we spent six hours there, trying different trains, visiting the museums and incorporating a walk into Haworth along the way.

Always worth a visit when visiting this part of Yorkshire. Each station the railway passes is beautiful. The shed at Oxenhope also has some lovely old vintage rolling stock and a good selection of railway magazines and memorabilia

Really great local steam railway. When most others are making up excuses for running 'heritage' diesels, WVR are still running steam. Fab station and really friendly staff who I believe are volunteers. Can't fault. Will definitely return.

We loved it, great for kids and grown ups, makes you travel in time. Such a good experience and if you are fascinated by trains this is great. You can also visit exhibits along the stations and interesting data.

Great Christmas experience for the family on the Elf Express. All passed at leisurely once, no rushing, so lovely relaxed atmosphere. We would all love to do it again.

A well maintained old steam railway station which is well worth a visit. We were there when the beer and music festival was on so there was plenty going on. The trains run up to Keithley and back with all the Yorkshire countryside on view. Can highly recommend.
