The place is amazing, the service is amazing! What a lovely place to go for food or just a cup of coffee. They also have bunch options of cakes. Will comeback for sure. Edit: i went again for coffee (flat white) and cake. The coffee was awesome! Ain't nothing like costa, you will expect something stronger. And the pecan and carrots cake is awesome, not to sweet.

Wonderful Sunday roast! 2 courses for £26. Great service and a beautiful venue located in greenbank park.

Very nice location & interior. The food is generally good but for the price the presentation of the burger was not great. This place gets very busy during sunny days so make sure to book ahead. I was super impressed with the variety and taste of the homemade cakes. The bakewell cake was my favourite.

I was out on the town with my friend and we had to decide where we wanted to go for lunch and he recommended The Watering Can as he had been there before and the service was great. We tried it out and the service and food was lovely. The ambience was great too. I would definitely recommend.

Been here loads of times and it's always been excellent. Went for lunch today and was a bit disappointed, food wasn't great and the honey roast ham sandwich used the cheapest square ham slices a supermarket could offer. The beef in the salad was very very rare, personal choice of course but it didn't feel cooked. Service was excellent as usual but food wasn't as good today. I note the reply off the team. Very fair and honest. If you're reading this I've been back since and it was fabulous as usual. Excellent all round, looking forward to my next visit 👌

Very nice cafe. Very clean and staff very pleasant. Even thought it was around 2.00 pm it was very busy and there was a queue for tables. We'll worth a visit.

Beautiful food in awesome surroundings. Wouldn't recommend if you want a leisurely experience as the staff rush you while you're eating and constantly keep coming over which we found very uncomfortable. They don't take bookings which is brilliant but the desire to seat everyone who enters makes the experience for those who are eating less enjoyable

Absolutely gorgeous place! Went for breakfast with guests, ended up taking home cakes for the afternoon, which were as delicious as they looked. Had three different breakfasts, all were very tasty and portion sizes generous. Staff was very attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back to try everything else on the menu.

A beautiful location with amazing service and even more amazing cakes. We tried iced mocha coffee, lattes, teas, and several cakes. The coffee cake and Chocolate Norwegian are a bit too sweet for my taste, but we really enjoyed Lemon Drizzle Cake. The staff were very friendly and polite.

I support local business but not this one. We would not come back again. 1) Customers have to queue outside to wait in the cold on a reserved table despite the cafe is empty and the table is ready. Not sure why? 2) Given wrong set of Sunday roast menu. There are a few things they do not offer on the menu today. We ordered the food and 10 mins later they then tell us they don't have it and told us the menu was wrong. Very disppointing! 3) They try to serve us a starter assuming we ordered it and we have been given no option. 4) Yorkshire puddings were served stone cold. We had to send them back. Guess what? They reheat them and send it back out. The Yorkshire pudding looks flat and mushy. Surely they should give the customer new ones. How much does a few Yorkshire pudding cost? See picture. 5) They try to over charge us despite they said they would give us some discount with all the issues they had. However, We do not go to a cafe wanting a 10% discount off. And it wasn't even 10% because we paid £40 deposit to secure a reservation and the 10% cannot be applied to the money already paid. We go there looking forward to a nice meal with friends and expecting good food and service. I expect myself to pay the full price and tips if they can deliver. It was a very disappointing experience to pay £26 for a Sunday roast. There are better local restaurants serving better food with better service.

What a Sunday treat! The most delicious roast with the friendliest of service (thanks Lisa!) and a very cool vibe. Already looking forward to next Sunday here, the easiest of recommendations!

If you haven't been then you must! The Watering Can is quite simply, but profoundly, a magnificent place. I bring my elderly mother here on the same day each week for breakfast. The reason for this review is that the atmosphere is warm, extremely friendly and inviting. Just being shown to the table you get the amazing smell of fresh coffee and look at the beautiful selection of cakes! The menu is clear and the choice is great. There's something for everyone. I really enjoy the coffee which sets me up for the day. The food matches the atmosphere. There are truly some amazing chefs and kitchen staff who work so hard to deliver the very best products for people like us. The front of house staff couldn't be more accommodating. They always go out of their way to ensure that any visit to the Watering Can is a treat and a pleasure. I cannot recommend high enough and I look forward to my regular weekly visit.

Amazing breakfast in beautiful surroundings. Very efficient, friendly and safe service. When you arrive, you're greeted at the door, where someone (wearing a mask) takes your details and gives you hand gel. You're then taken to a table. Coffee was excellent and food arrived quickly and was very tasty. It's definitely one of the best fry ups in South Liverpool.

I have been here before and it is a charming little spot where the service and the flavour of the food is good. However my sandwich today was mouldy, and arrived over 5 minutes later than my partner's (which was ordered at the same time) and was therefore cold. I ended up with a bit of a dodgy stomach afterwards. However, after reporting it to the business, it was recorded officially and handled in a polite and supportive manner and the kitchen was investigated. The experience was poor, but I couldn't ask for more in terms of complaints procedure.

Absolutely amazing place, amazing food, even though the sausage was left off my breakfast. Only 1 downfall was that u are basically sat on another persons knee, any other year that’s fine but not when we still in a pandemic. Was literally less than a metre.

First visit here for a full meal (sausage butty as takeaway previously was the nicest I'd ever had). Absolutely brilliant food, well presented and friendly, prompt service. One of us had Sunday roast dinner and the other a fish and chorizo mix and couldn't have been better. Definitely recommend

Lovely place for tea and cake! I had the strawberry milkshake flavour and my friend had lemon, they were both gorgeous! Would come back everyday if I didn’t live 180 miles away 🚂

The most rude shocking service at takeaway counter. A brown haired young girl who dismissed me as if I was an inconvienece when I kindly asked to order food. Tapping away on the till endlessly. Then was ignored by mulltiple other members of other staff.... all I was trying to do was order my children a cookie. Walked away and left after 10 minutes of standing at the counter waiting to be served.

Great location without a doubt. Despite the very long wait for the food to be brought over. Service with very slow and staff looking stressed. For the price, the breakfast items was awful. Very poor quality and greasy. Toast stale and rock hard. Shamed that they still served the food that wasn't eatable. Definitely no care or pride there, sadly all was left untouched. Did point it out to the manager at the time but didn't seemed to be bothered. Nertherless, being a good christian I still settled the bill in full despite the poor service and shocking quality of food that was served. Unfortunately, cannot recommend the place.

Little wait but it was worth it. Been meaning to come here for ages and haven’t ever got around to it. Seated quicker than we expected. The girls working were absolutely lovely. Food was gorgeous. Latte was spot on. Three of us ordered and all our meals were perfect. Lovely setting as well. Ordered a giant slab of cake to take away too which was also lovely. Was strangely obsessed with the crockery too lol. Would definitely return.

The location is beautiful and the breakfast was good. The selection was small, but there was something for everyone (veggie, vegan). It was a tad pricey for the sizes of the portions and the taste but still worth it. They had a fantastic choice of cakes and the waitress was really lovely.

Love this place. Every time I’ve been it’s been great food and service and even in lockdown they’ve made such an effort to offer what customers want. Would recommend the Korean Chicken Burger as a takeout (and their cakes of course!) Can’t wait for it to reopen!

What a fab place this is. We have eaten here regularly over the last four years since moving here (we live on Greenbank Road)... we are just so incredibly lucky to have such a lovely restaurant on our door step. I have to say though - please can you bring back the fish and chips! I used to bring my mum every Friday - the Posh Fish Finger is delightful- but your fish and chips were the best in town!

Called in today with my wife with the intention of having a glass of wine and going closer to home for a bite to eat. So glad we stayed! The burger is simply delicious especially with the truffle and parmesan fries and the chicken supreme my wife had was top notch,we followed it with a slice of carrot and pecan cake and a passion fruit martini! I also have to give Lisa our waitress a big shout as she is a credit to the place. We'll definitely be back!😉

I have been visiting the local hospital over the last several months and have used this restaurant on numerous occasions. The staff are all brilliant; the food is lovely, the cake even better! The consistency is fantastic as it’s a high standard to regularly meet.

We booked a table at The Watering Can for Sunday afternoon after we had seen photos of the roasts advertised on Facebook. We ordered the beef roast dinner, the meat was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. Nice selection of vegetables and a lovely big homemade yorkshire pudding, the gravy could of been slightly thicker but that is just my personal preference. This is one of the best roasts I have tasted so far! My son has a severe nut allergy and my mum had missed phone calls from the management about his allergy and how they could accommodate him. We didn’t want to take the chance ordering him any food as we were made aware the kitchen contained lots of different nuts and we couldn’t be 100% he wouldn’t have reacted to something, so instead of my son going hungry the owner went and picked him up a different meal from somewhere else! We have never come across this service anywhere before, he was so happy as he is very anxious about having a possible reaction when eating out. The service was very fast and the lady serving us was very polite and friendly. Thank you so much, we really appreciated your kindness 😊

Visited the watering can many times, always enjoyed it, and have introduced friends and family to the place. Visited today with my parents and small dog - we had a lovely lunch that was ruined when the waitress was rude. I’d picked my dog up due to her eating stuff on the floor, she was nowhere near the table. The waitress came over and said ‘put the dog on the floor’. I had no issue with her asking this. However the execution was extremely rude and abrupt. To then put a 10% service charge on, and ask you on the spot whilst holding the card reader makes you feel awkward. Should’ve asked her to remove it. *response to owner - we were not told this on arrival! Like I said I totally understand why you’d ask this. However your server’s tone was rude, then the cheek to put a 10% service charge on! Don’t be in a customer service job if you’re terrible at being friendly*

  • 3/5 John J. 7 months ago on Google
The place is really nice & we'll designed, the staff were great too. BUT value for money NO. At best the breakfast was OK but for £12 I was expecting SOMETHING better. And when the bill came we were put on the spot when asked by server... 10% service charge leave it on or take it off. No issue with leaving a tip but putting it on 1st is a little naughty.

  • 3/5 Tony S. 3 years ago on Google
Have been to this cafe many times pre-covid and during, the food is usually very good and there's an excellent cake selection. This place has however always been dogged by service issues generally coming from the door and communication from inside the kitchen, rather than the waitresses. It's still a pleasure to get takeaway during lockdown when at the park. This weekend however there was some long delay issues with food and the quality of the drinks. 20+ minutes for a takeaway sausage and egg sandwich is excessive and our coffees had an awful taste of mould. Hopefully next time will be better.

  • 1/5 Paul B. 3 years ago on Google
Good cakes, nice interior (when covid allows) but staff all round could do with a course in customer service and actually know what it is to work in the service industry

  • 5/5 Amy D. 3 years ago on Google
This is such a lovely little gem of a cafe. It's been so nice to be able to still get take away from them, it's been the highlight of the day sometimes for us during the last few months. The food is always first class, especially the steak sandwich, the hot chocolates with chocolate orange on the top and the fish and chips for the kids, they love it too it's a real treat. The staff are always really kind and friendly too. Can't wait to go back next week.

Popped in on a friend's recommendation and we stayed for a second hot drink and cakes (I chose the dark chocolate and ginger cake which was absolutely gorgeous). The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, very comfortable and beautiful to look at down to every detail. All the staff were lovely and friendly and Adam our server was very attentive and friendly. We will definitely be returning.
