Pros:
-
The
rooms
seem
to
vary
greatly
within
categories
so
you
can
get
a
very
nice
room
for
a
decent
price
if
you’re
lucky.
-
Beautiful
grounds
and
surrounding
area
-
Cosy
bar
area
and
a
lovely
hotel
pub
with
good
food
-
Great
spa
and
treatments
Cons:
-
The
food
in
the
hotel
restaurant
(the
Ox
Barn)
was
not
up
to
scratch.
When
we
had
stayed
at
a
similar
category
hotel
earlier
this
year,
we
were
given
local,
homemade
food
and
the
food
at
Thyme
is
pretty
regular
industrial
food.
Portions
were
stingy
for
the
price,
eg
£7
cheese
toasties
with
hardly
any
filling.
Given
the
hotel
has
a
kitchen
garden,
I
would
expect
that
to
have
been
more
clear
in
the
menu.
-
As
above,
rooms
vary
a
lot
within
categories
so
you
can
get
unlucky.
We
were
initially
booked
into
a
Cosy
room
which
was
tiny
and
very
stuffy
-
nothing
like
the
example
photos
online
-
so
we
asked
to
move
to
the
category
above
(which
we
paid
for).
This
room
was
much
better
with
lots
of
space
and
a
bath.
-
Patchy
service.
We
had
some
great
service
but
it
wasn’t
consistent,
eg
we
sometimes
struggled
to
find
service
in
the
bar
and
did
not
feel
very
warmly
