I ate next door and popped in to look at the bourbon. People at the pub looked like they were having a good time, but I was more interested in bourbon. All the bottles I looked at looked to be priced $25+ over MSRP. That earned this place 1 star.

A cozy place to enjoy intimate company and share a hand crafted cocktail. This historic location has been serving patrons fine spirits for 30 years so they have obviously been doing it right. The barkeeps are top-notch; friendly, attentive, and genuine. It's an oasis in the middle of the bustling nightlife that encompasses it.

The owner.. Did someone forget their Xanax that day? I seriously hope someone who goes off on customers before they can make into the door to make a drink purchase finds a stability in their day-to-day life. Single staff member is Aggressive, boarderline, without boundaries.

Always great service and top notch selection. My wife and I consider it our favorite spot for a night cap. We actually ate dinner 5 mins from home, then drove 15 mins downtown just to come here because nowhere else would do on a special occasion.

Place is good, beers are awesome and the lady that takes care of the tables Ms. O is great, too bad I can't say the same thing about the guy at the bar 👎.

If you're looking for the local's bar, you'll find it at Lou's. Small and cozy spot that is unique in being both a bar and a package store.

I love that it's perfectly acceptable to show up and have a TOP SHELF cocktail in a t-shirt, shorts, and flip flops. Nice patio. Excellent people watching. 👏

2.20.22 update Finally made it back to Birmingham after covid. Best local bar hands down. Just don't walk in acting like a clown. They maintain a respectable, HISTORIC bar/package store to enjoy drinks, music and LOTS of friendly people. Mike, Jesse & Steva are great! They will take care of you and they know many people by name. Great place to have a drink in a casual and fun atmosphere. Grab some togo food from all the restaurants and walk over to enjoy it here. 2/2020 Mike is awesome! Great place to hang out. Only package store where you can drink on premise. A must stop!

Lots of choices. Good prices for Alabama since the taxes make the prices higher than normal. It's not the shops fault. Great location. Good crowd.
