Came here to see this part of History. And I wanted to see the glass from Wales. I talked to someone here and they said for me to come in I have to pay $10. I don't see anyone else talking about the fee. I've never heard of a church where you have to pay to come into it. Really? A church that charges you to come through the door. Disgusting. Wanting to make a buck off something religious like this. If they were serious about their mission they should not only do it for free they should be inviting people in from all walks of life and welcoming everyone. Apparently they don't want to make a difference. They just want to make some extra cash. I've been in churches that have been on the national registry That have not charged a penny. I just I'm really disappointed. Did I pay for it? No way. I don't want a tour. I just wanted to enjoy the church.

I will never forget my visit here! So much history, the site of the 1963 terrorist attack on a black church that claimed the lives of 4 African-American girls. My visit included videos and a tour and the staff are very knowledgeable and allow for questions. My life will never be the same thanks to this place.

Thanks to the work of this congregation and their volunteers, this is an excellent place to learn about Birmingham, the church bombing, and the on going race relationships. The tour includes several history panels with many photos, an excellent video presentation, and a tour of the sanctuary. Book your tour online prior to arriving.

Tony, Noel and I visited the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham Alabama. This church is steeped with history especially during the Civil Rights in the 60s. This is the church that was bombed killing several innocent little girls. Very sad history! The church is beautiful and you can tour it for free! If you are in the area you definitely need to visit the church.

Absolutely worth your time to stop in to this historic church, take a tour, learn the timeline and history. Give yourself about an hour, we thoroughly enjoyed our education here.

this is where 4 young, beautiful Black girls lives were stolen by KKK clansmen. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. described it as "one of the most vicious and tragic crimes ever perpetrated against humanity.” this is history that needs to be told!

What a wonderful experience I had visiting this historically beautiful church where Martin Luther King Jr was a pastor in. Everything had this holy and nostalgic feeling and everyone was so kind and welcoming to me.

We were excited to visit this historic civil rights location. Although known for a sad event, I am proud to be able to visit the memorial site. My visit allowed me to be a part of our American history decades later.

There is so much history in this place! It celebrates the struggles, tragedies and triumphs and is still a vibrant church community.

Very heart felt from the moment I step out my car onto this property. Just to think of what happened to these children for no reason, other than the hate in others heart for people of a different color. In a place you would think you are safe. Read the stories behind this landmark of history

Their panels with pictures and timelines were very neatly displayed, and the information on them was very comprehensive. After the excellent guided tour, I had to go back to the panels exhibit and further read all the information.

This was the best tour so far on our Civil Rights Trail road trip. To be standing in a place that I have read about and watched documentaries about was powerful. The tour guides were so knowledgeable about this tragedy that happened before any of them were born. The church is beautiful. The film was very powerful. The 10:22 clock was real life. I highly recommend this tour to all history buffs and civil rights buffs. This tour is well worth your time and money! Only $15.90 for two people and it was the best tour by far! ❤️

I took my daughter to visit this as she loves history. We had an amazing time. We did not do the tour due timing but just to be there with apart of black history, was an amazing feeling!

We were taken to the basement where the history of the church, it's significance and struggle of blacks was explained. Furthermore about the bombing and MLK visit has been shared, this place holds a significant place in the history and struggle of many people. I would suggest visiting it and learning about the past as it gives insight on how history has evolved and about the struggle.

Important part of civil rights history, yet the tour is long-winded and does not need to be an hour and 10 minutes. I was thrilled to be in the company of our gracious guide who is a longtime member of the church, and attended sermons by MLK there.

Such a great tour and overall learning experience. Definitely worth a visit. They did a great job outlining the history of Birmingham and significance of the church to the Civil Rights Movement. The tour includes a couple interesting surprises that make it special. The tour guides are volunteers from the church's congregation, and youth are also included in the program. Guided part of the tour takes about an hour, but plan to stay longer to revisit the basement museum.

I had just touched the exterior brick of the Church and I just about started to cry. Very moving experience. Also please go across the street and walk through Freedom Walk park.

This is history and a place to visit. I was a little upset because the city is not taking care of the park where history happened. When you visit this place do a little research on the names of the streets and why the names where changed but it is a tourist place to visit in daytime
