I realize hotels are expensive these days but this place is not worth the room rate. We arrived and waited almost ten minutes at an empty front desk only to be encountered by a less than friendly desk clerk. When i asked for a room with a tub, i was told one was available only for an extra $80. (No explanation as to whether this was a suite or why the $80 extra on top of the $466 I’d already paid.) Room was so-so and not nearly as nice as the Grand Bohemian in Asheville. Furthermore, they charged my credit card $100 for incidentals, of which I had none, and five days later they’ve yet to credit the charge. Never again….

It was really nice, in fact a lot too nice. It's not a place you want to bring kids, and for me, my idea of going to a bar or going to a place is definitely not suit and tie where everybody's whispering and you can't be real loud, nobody's talking loud, everything's too pretty, in fact it's way too pretty to touch, you do good just to walk to the bathroom without breaking anything. It's definitely not my cup of tea, and if you want to pay $500 a night, then come here, but if you want reality, then don't come here. I mean this is just way too much for most people. It's not that you can't be high-end, but who in the hell wants to do that.

I went to take my dad to eat for his birthday 7/1/2023 an it was very beautiful in the restaurant. But the staff informed us the food was nasty and expensive and that they were playing on changing the menu. So if the staff is saying no go down to another restaurant called Char then you know the food is garbage with no American dishes or chicken steak pork chops nothing like that..so we got up an left..thanks for the heads up..

Interesting place. Service in the rooftop bar/restaurant was so slow that our cocktails were complimentary. Trying too hard to be glamorous.

The Grand Bohemian was one of the most luxurious hotels that I have ever stayed in. The art was awesome, the service was impeccable, the staff was attentive and the property was amazing. I highly recommend staying here. I had the opportunity to DJ an event for Toyota there recently and the A/V staff was also super acomodating!!

This is a hotel that is earnestly trying to be something but falls short on just about everything. I just completed a stay and asked for my bill/folio to be sent to me via email. Nothing! I have tried to reach the hotel via phone several times, trying all the extensions. They never answer the phone. This is the same thing that happened to me on a prior trip. I'll never stay here again.

Stayed one night in June for an event in the area. I arrived from BHM airport a few hours before check in and was able to leave my things in a secure area while I explored downtown Birmingham, Alabama. When I returned, check in was a breeze. Courteous and professional front desk staff. Beautiful front entrance and lobby. Well appointed hotel. My room was clean and well maintained with a view of the pool. The fitness center had what I needed to get in a quick workout. Great location, very walkable to nearby shops and attractions. I had a great run on the Jemison Park Trail and saw The Old Mill. Beautiful, lush area.

Beautifully decorated, fine architectural design, luxury services. Have never experienced any sort of problems or issues when staying here. If I could live full-time there I would!

Bartender Steve was the absolute best at Habitat. He made the most perfect expresso martini (which wasn’t even on the menu) and we loved the atmosphere, staff, and cocktails so much that we definitely plan to visit Habitat and the Bohemian again on our next trip to Birmingham!

Nice Hotel, Nice stay it was conveniently located near everything you needed just park your car and walk. Me and My wife enjoyed our time there. The Bose speaker in our room didn’t work so I couldn’t play Music while getting ready :( . But it was an overall nice experience willing to stay again 4.35/5 stars.

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Beautifully decorated and very nicely appointed rooms. Service personnel were great across the board, especially the valets.

Beautiful! Would recommend staying here. Didn't use the restaurant can't comment on the food. Top floor bar is as the hotel BEAUTIFUL: Luis and Amanda treated me well. Reception staff and valet crew were professional and very courteous.

All about the location. Rich boomers living it up in this part of town so there are a lot of food and shops nearby. As a titanium member, I appreciated the upgrade to a soaking tub King and a 1pm checkout (even though they’re sold out tonight). The bar could use a refresh - $16 for an average old fashion was a bit disappointing.

WOW! just wow! this place is beautiful! the staff is awesome! checked in late & met Mr Tripp at the front desk. He was already prepared for my arrival ( we were all trying to beat the incoming storm ). Spoke with a very nice lady at the front desk as well who was very helpful with our parking needs. the bellman was just as helpful & polite. the time on the road was hard so once in the suite I kicked off my shoes & fixed a cup of coffee. my companion spent a little time walking around the hotel. as I drank my coffee I heard the door open & my companion say "slip your shoes back on, grab your coffee & come take a look at this!" Mr Tripp was patiently waiting for me in the hallway. I was shuffled off to view another larger suite. Just WOW! having not even unpacked any bags Mr Tripp kindly upgraded our suite & brought us new keys. I thought the 1st suite was grand. the larger suite was fabulous! had two balconies off the living room .. the art hanging on the walls in both the rooms and the hallways.. the decor.. the hospitality.. breakfast in the room was great.. We were going to stay a second night however the storm required us back home for clean up at work. Thank you Mr Tripp & to everyone at this hotel! I travel a lot and this was by far my best experience! I will return for a longer stay soon...

Incredible! Just Incredible. From the moment we walked and were greeted by Tripp everything was stellar! Beautiful room, best of the house. Amazing dinner upstairs at Habitat Feed and Social! The hotel is just beautifully decorated from top to bottom. The village has cool shops and you are directly across the street from the Birmingham Botanical gardens! Gentlemen, this is THE place to take your lady and romance her beyond expectation! Class!!!

The Grand Bohemian hotel really nails the expectations of a four star experience. The location, Mountain Brook, is ideally situated just outside of the Birmingham Alabama. From here you can access the city within 5mins or just mooch down to the local shops / amenities of Mountain Brook. The hotel, the associated restaurant and bar (Habitat), deliver across the board. If you’re keen from some cooking classes or wine tasting sessions you’d be hard pressed to find a venue which covers all the bases for the price and quality.

It felt like they were understaffed, but every employee I interacted with was happy and polite. The ice machine on the 3rd floor was out of service. The bathroom is very spacious, and the toiletries were good quality and plentiful. Brunch was great! Don took great care of us!!

Welcome to Alice in Wonderland! 😂 We enjoyed our stay. This hotel is nice. All the staff was helpful and friendly. It’s not very large and is located in a little village area where there are shops and restaurants within walking distance. There were multiple events being hosted during our two night stay that occupied spaces like the art gallery etc. We stayed in a Grand Bohemian suite. It was very clean and spacious, and well-stocked with towels and toiletries. The kitchen area was fantastic! Fridge, freezer, micro, and an under counter ice maker. Would have loved to have this kitchen in our room at the Grand Bohemian Greenville! Fabulous. Other ppl commented about the price point for what you get at this hotel and I tend to agree. The room was nice but overall I felt the hotel doesn’t offer enough to warrant prices. The housekeeping service was the best we have experienced in any hotel. They came multiple times to check on us. We did not have to call for anything, they were ahead of it. Awesome. No barn doors in the bathroom here! Very very happy to see doors that close properly in the bathroom… but they are the heavy commercial doors, so not as attractive. It appears to me that this location was a remodeled hotel and not built new. The only complaint I have about the room is that the bathroom has no vent fan, or if it did, it was not functioning. The art gallery curator was very friendly and took time to chat with us. I am not sure what is up with the Alice in Wonderland type theme going on, it is not my favorite. It is just not my taste. We used the dine-in option from Habitat and it was all very good - except the Kessler Margarita that they brought me. Like it was offensively bad. There is a tapas and tequila spot right next door. I recommend going there if you would like a margarita lol! Overall very happy. I would recommend and stay at this location again.

Lea Steele in accounting did an amazing job helping me with an issue I had with my card. She was professional yet very personable to deal with. The personal touch made me feel comfortable and reassured the problem will be resolved quickly and accurately! Thank you Lea for your outstanding service.

My advise to you is to examine the bed linen thoroughly before laying down. The linen was nasty. It was changed but no amenities were offered. I am still waiting on management to respond. 4 star 🌟hotel!!

Amazing customer care from Terry and Antoinette who were so welcoming and kind and went out of their way to assist in printing out documents. Great location in Mountain Brook, minutes away from excellent shopping and easy access to downtown Birmingham. Great outdoor terrace for breakfast with views over the surrounding area.

Uneven experience The PROS: Very comfy bed, room nice and clean, front desk staff friendly and helpful, lobby decor interesting The CONS: valet parking personnel-- at a minimum, they should open car door. The “art” in our room was weird: paintings of swamps, no kidding. Rooftop bar: not even busy, but inattentive service.

My husband & I stayed at the Grand Bohemian Hotel-Mountain Brook for our anniversary & it was a great experience. We were pleased with the rooms, location, nearby attractions, hospitality, food, drinks, etc... We also had a couples massage w/hot stones at the Poseidon Spa & it was everything & more... Hands down to Dreya' & Kandace, they gave the best massage, they were very attentive & professional...Highly recommend the hotel & spa, they both have a lot to offer!!!

Myself and my daughter stayed at this beautiful hotel from the 24th to the 27th of June 2021. I love the entire ambiance of this place, from the food, to the service, my 3 lovely professional barmaids. I've been to Florida several times and so far Orlando was my favorite. My only issue is the room smelled a like mildew, the smoke detector was falling off the wall and just a bit outdated, other than that I would come back. Again I enjoyed my stay and everybody was so professional and friendly

I have no idea why anyone would give this place less than 5 stars. What an unexpected gem! We were greeted with a smile and a friendly young man at the desk, and that did not stop the whole time. The hotel called a few days before our booking and asked if there was anything else they could provide upon arrival. They delivered a bottle of prosecco to the room! What a special touch. Beds/pillows are comfy, everything was super clean, and the bold art work was just beautiful. The decor is really something to behold. And to top it off, the breakfast at the rooftop restaurant was amazing. Starting with spectacular service by Crystal (I think that was her name), we enjoyed the best breakfast we've had in a long time. Don't miss the sausage and biscuits! Again, the decor is pretty stunning. The only downside is that our trip was too short... wish we could have explored the hotel and its amenities even more, as well as the neighborhood.

Very clean hotel, with very comfortable rooms. They have a cooking school and art gallery. Many nearby restaurants.

This has been probably the worst hotel stay and HUGE waste of $300. You guys, if you're going to charge more for a hotel room than the nicer hotels in the city, you may want to think about making it worth the money. I do not ever want to visit this hotel or any Marriot hotels ever again. We chose this hotel to spend our wedding night in. What a total waste. The only saving grace was the relaxing shower and robe. I suppose I was expecting too much on my wedding night because I wanted to be greeted with a glass of champagne and have a smooth check in (which it was not, it took almost 30 minutes just to get checked in) Another thing, if you are going to close the kitchen at 9pm, update your room service hours because when we scanned the QR code in our room, it was displayed that room service was until 11pm but we were unable to get any food. We could not get any food at all around here, in fact we had to go back to our side of town just to get something to eat. We would have just canceled but we would have been charged $300 anyway. WHAT A WASTE OF MY WEDDING MONEY!!!!! I do not EVER want to come back and when people ask me about staying here, I'll let them know that The Elyton or The Redmont would be a much more suitable place to stay. Worst honeymoon night ever. I was really upset that we were treated just so plainly after we had such a special day, I wanted this little stay to be as special as our wedding day and it was a huge $300 let down. I honestly feel bad for my husband because I was boasting about this place. What a disappointment.

Had a great staycation with a few mom friends! Spacious rooms and beautiful decor. We hung out at the rooftop bar and enjoyed delicious food and drinks. Our waitress Stephanie was the absolute best! Breakfast buffet the next morning was amazing. We plan to do this again!

Stayed here the night of our wedding and it was top notch. The price is worth what you get with the room! We loved all of the artwork and unique design and have been talking about going back for another stay!

Had an extended stay at the Hotel during our recent move to Mountain Brook. What an amazing Marriott Autograph Collection Hotel. Great location and close to our new home. We spent about 2-3 weeks here waiting on our new home to be completed and get the greenlight for closing. Could not imagine a better place to have an extended stay. Friendly staff and recommended by both our Realtor and Moving Company as the place to stay in Mountain Brook.

The hotel is really nice and I enjoyed my stay up until checkout day. I was sleeping so peaceful when all of a sudden I was rudely awaken by a 915 am knock on the door from housekeeping!!! Why????? This is so tacky to have housekeeping knock on doors!! I know when to checkout!!! Now I have a pounding headache because of this rude awakening!!!

Very good people and wonderful food at the restaurant. Otherwise: we can hear the people next door to our room and they are just taking at a normal volume, the front doors to the hotel aren’t electric, so they make it hard to enter with luggage and don’t comply with the ADA and you are never greeted by the staff when you arrive back at the hotel. PS: the coffee is very bitter. Not coming back.

Our stay at the hotel was less than average. We paid over $1,000 for the room and It was just Ok. The front desk at check in was not nice either. We do not recommend the hotel and we will not be returning.
