Awesome time spent in and sat outside this delightful, old world pub. The interior is gorgeous and meanders between two floors and boasts original features. Cool artwork and sat along canal watching life go by is very entertaining on a Saturday tea time. Highly recommended

A stout and two pale ales on draught. That's it. "Ohh we always get complaints when there's no bitter ". Customer focused?( I should add, nice location, pleased its dog friendly and accessible and has kept it's character )

We happened upon Tap & Spile and I am so glad we did! Cosy but roomy, loads of seating, wonderful staff and views of the canal. Outside seating if you like. The food was also lovely, we had a selection of small plates. Absolutely recommend!

Great pub, perfectly situated on the canal at Gas St Basin. Great range of real ales with a variety of styles(which you can see on the Real Ale Finder app). Absolute bargain prices on Tuesdays on real ales Β£2.95 pint.

In March Tap & Spile was a lovely low key hideaway along the canals. I stopped to photograph the view at dusk. I was able to sit outside at a table which I was told were impossible to get during spring & summer. Meet locals who bought me wine, we had dinner, and chitchatted about life. Fantastic experience.

Charming pub located at Gas Street. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit here. Very welcoming and friendly staff, great selection of beer on cask and on tap and decent food menu and is great value for money too. Very traditional style pub and it ticks all the boxes. The pub is fortunate to have an entrance off the canal that has lovely views, but also has an entrance off Gas Street. Really like this place and will definitely pay another visit next time I'm in Birmingham.

A lovely proper little pub right on the canal. Arranged over two floors, with access from the canal towpath and the street above. Cheap pints Monday to Friday. Quiet during the week, but busy at weekends. If you want a proper pub that isn’t a trendy bar near the canal, this is the one

Lovely little pub with restaurant down stairs. Good atmosphere, friendly staff. Beautiful view out of window in the restaurant. Door downstairs leads to the canal where if you follow the path it will lead you to arena Birmingham. Canal boat rides available also. Will visit again. Good for price too.

Great value good quality food with a nice decor and friendly service let down by the number of fruit flies in the pub unfortunately.

This is a great pub and lovely spot on the canal. The ale is fantastic, so for all the CAMRA fanatics, a great stop. The food is also damn good, as well as the hospitality and service. A very friendly welcoming pub. I always come back, whenever visiting Birmingham. Love this place. ❀️

Cannot recommend this place enough. Food was lovely and service was quick. It has a great atmosphere and was really nice and quiet for a birthday meal. The food was also really well priced, we ended up paying just under Β£20 for a full meal, drinks and desserts for 2 as they had a deal on the sharing platters. The toilets were clean enough and the staff were friendly, a wonderful experience overall.

Nice setting. Good food and drink prices -food cheap and cheerful. Lovely waiter brought it to us. Unfortunately, miserable bar staff -no smiles at all -and barmaid was swearing. Not somewhere to bring grandma...

Don't get excited, I only stopped in for a couple of beers! This pub is in a great location, right in the canal. You can sit outside when weather permits. It's certainly got character and I could certainly believe it's been serving drinks for a very long time. Beers were Β£2.50! (Oct 22) Good choice also. I didn't eat or use the bathroom so can't comment on either of those. Staff were great also.

I love this pub. Sitting on the edge of canal offers lots of food and drinks choices. We had few drinks and some. Unfortunately the upper floor was closed but it's a nice experience

Excellent range of beers. Great barman on day. On his own with a concert crowd in but did great. Good prices for food and drink despite centre location.

A really friendly pub with a fabulous range of local real ales. Staff are extremely helpful and really know their beers. There's praise starting by the canal, it is a perfect oasis. If you like real ale and find yourself in Birmingham, you have to go.

A traditional pub along the canal with some very good value food. The food was very tasty and served relatively quickly. A nice place to eat in a lovely area of Birmingham. The puddings had a few vegan ice cream options.

The pub looks ok, located on the canals of Birmingham, right next to the black sabah bridge. Newly refurbished. They have comfortable seats and sofas. The staff is ok ish, bot bad, not amazing. The breakfast was quite poorly executed, the sausages were not cooked, the eggs were overcooked, they lacked flavour, and overall, all was poorly. It is a good place to go for a drink. Give them a try. They have a cosy terrace outside, perfect for drinks during the warm days of summer.

Have visited this place a couple of times, during the day, for food and drink. The food has been lovely on both occasions and is reasonably priced. Furthermore, the service provided by staff has been attentive and welcoming. I find it to be a pleasant, relaxing place where you can enjoy time with family and friends. One star deducted as on both occasions the ladies toilets appeared to need a good clean and smartening up a little. I look forward to returning in the summer and sitting by the canal whilst enjoying food, drinks and the company of others.

Loved this place, sitting outside by the side of the canal was really lovely. We went back later for our food. As always in these places, it was really good, tasty hot, and filling. Can't wait to visit again
