The staff have major attitude. At the end of the day they are waiters and there to serve the public. I enquired about arranging my wedding in their private quarters. The manger was dismissive, ride and totally not interested. The food is okay, the drink is over priced, the staff are awful, the bar is small and my friends and I will not be returning. A truly awful arrogant experience.

+ Good for a social, loved the menu options. - Experience lacked formality. + Friendly, attentive staff, food was straightforward and tasty.

As a newbie to Birmingham we found here with good reviews and followed the signage saying table service only (it's not) after being sat 10 minutes I was going to ask for a menu at the bar to find them all there. We ordered food and drink and the drinks came quick but my order - (the fish) was extremely over seasoned and suffering with an eating disorder and allergies meant I wasn't aware and couldn't eat any of it but it was also dripping with oil My partner finished their food and we waited thinking someone may come and ask how the food was but nobody came and I wanted to wait but my partner wanted to leave it.... £12 to effectively only eat 10 chips was a bit gutting honestly

Popped in for a drink. Not bad looking place. Staff were friendly. Plenty of seating inside and out. Remember to check in at the front entrance. The music was playing in the background, quite a chilled venue. You could argue the outside could do with a little brush around and tidying with what’s in view. You can scan the menu to order but you need to enter your card on the website to pay- as opposed to Apple/Android pay. As I didn’t carry a card anymore, I just paid the staff with their PDQ machine. Prices are city centre prices. The menu looked really good, which I might try next time.

Not bad. The best is the terrace outside obviously. Food was average.

Ordered off the website, waited 25 minutes and didn't receive order. After a long winded conversation with the barmaids we got our order which wasn't even as described and the staff were unapologetic.

Bad service, moody staff. Food was tasty, ordered a double pretty sure it came as a single with extra ice

It’s a real shame about The Loft, I’ve tried to be patient for the sake of it being great when it’s open but it rarely is and even then it’s a coin-toss wether they’re serving food or not. It’s consistently not open the listed opening hours with no social media post or offered explanation previous to or during the irregularity. When you get lucky and it is actually open there’s a very fair chance the kitchen isn’t open the listed hours that food is served, which is a shame because the food on offer is great value for money and some of the best loaded fries in the city. I’ve been a total of 10 times now and been disappointed, none of these have been due to the staff, they have all been friendly and as helpful as they could be given the circumstance. If this business could develop consistency I’m sure I would visit weekly but with the current form I’ll continue to steer clear.

Love coming to the Loft for the start of a great night out. This time, I had some food. As a vegan, their vegan burger is really good. Great layout on the the plate. Would definitely recommend it.

The loft is a wonderful venue. Great for non-alcoholic provision as well as a wide range of cocktails & beers. Good food, especially the buttermilk fried chicken strips. Delicious!

Ordered food (was told of a 40 min wait), and it never arrived. Was then told the chef went home! Didn't get an apology from the staff or nothing, and my night was ruined after that.

They put the sofas back...TG. Food is very good and the service bar guy decided to exhibit himself on the bar. Totally in keeping with Loft. All Corona Virus compliant...was shown my table and ordered perfectly from table. Well done guys!

Visited The Loft with a friend for some drinks. The staff were all friendly and were very quick to take our order. The bar was busy but we managed to find a sofa to relax on. The atmosphere is always amazing here. Looking forward to visiting again.

There was a 2 for £12 offer on cocktails or something similar, so I stopped by for a couple. They were fine!

Nice, LGBTQ-friendly venue in the gay village. Good range of drinks and friendly staff. They also serve food and have an upstairs space which regularly hosts various events.

Not too fancy but fancy and pocket friendly enough for a drink and meal in Brum, while thinking of what to do next in town. 😃

I had a couple of drinks here this past Sunday. I like the layout, the staff were friendly, and the drinks were tasty. It appears also to be a dog-friendly bar, which aside from a bit of yapping from an opinionated Dachshund is quite a sweet touch.

Only stayed until late for Nathan. Made us feel so comfortable, the best customer service & made us laugh the whole night. Without him we would have left. You need more personality like him.

  • 4/5 Charles B. 4 months ago on Google
Always love hanging out here. Chilled atmosphere with a lively vibe. First time having food here and the tapas was lovely - nommy and comforting. The perfect accompaniment to a couple of drinks.

  • 2/5 Robert S. 5 months ago on Google
Second visit & definitely the last. On our first visit the food was barely edible due to the food being Luke warm, practically cold and on the second visit Ione slice of beef - child portion size. I mean literally the plate would have made a vegetarian very happy. Alas I eat meat & expects a decent portion of beef! Do better because you ain’t cheap to eat out with you. The staff are nice but it ain’t enough to save your Sunday roast. 👎🏼 A simple solution would be to add a decent extra portion of meat to your Sunday lunch.

Georgie was the most accommodating manager I've ever been served by. She went out of her way to get ingredients to make me an off menu cocktail... which turned out to be the best cocktail I've had in Birmingham so far. Definitely be back soon.

Great place to meet friends for drinks and food, in the middle of gay village so convenient if you off clubbing later. Atmosphere is really good and the staff are super helpful and attentive, especially if you get there before the evening rush starts.

Usually come here for a Sunday Roast. Good portion sizes, chicken and beef roasts in the pictures. Place is looking a bit shabby in places, but overall decent place.

Beautiful bar with great drinks and great music! The drag queen was so funny - Coerced my friend into getting her a drink 😂 We got to request songs because of it, so we were loving it! The staff were all so lovely aswell would definitely recommend

I want to thank Danny and Romany for all of their help…I had my event here last night and it was absolutely perfect. The room was in the penthouse room. The size was perfect and everything just went according to plan and I had the best night and so did all of my guests… Thank you so much guys. Xx

My friend kept an event there and hired upstairs room. We had an incredible night, great ambience and we easily felt you were at the right party. One issue, we also had use of the kitchen. The microwave was filthy and although they had clumsily tied up, there was loads of equipment in sight. No kettle. I suppose with everything, forget the kitchen and you will enjoy the rest of your visit here.

  • 4/5 Jay L. 1 year ago on Google
Good environment with music at a level you can usually talk over with friends. Service is a bit hit and miss with some days frustratingly slow when they’re on table service. However, had a great Sunday roast the other day and staff are almost always pleasant and polite. Generally find it easier to socialise with friends here before heading to the high volume music nightlife elsewhere in the village. Noisier when cabaret is on and it gets piped through to the garden so couldn’t get away from it a few weeks back so we left. Up the service levels and keep a quieter space away from the stage and I’d add a fifth star!

  • 2/5 Paul D. 10 months ago on Google
Nice looking bar, chilled atmosphere when I visited, it was quiet with about 8 customers in late afternoon. The bar operates a table service only policy. As per the other reviews, I didn’t get served so after 10 mins, I left. If a venue is going to operate a table service only operation, it’s imperative that the staff serve, and the customers get served.

Went for 2 for one cocktails and my friend ordered a drink we had never tried before, and it was horrible! So I tried taking it back to see if we were able to swap it for something else, and the girl at the bar was just like nah we can't do that. So wastes A tenner on something we didn't drink, which is pretty much a scam and a wasted of money as if we have money to just throw away like that. Thay just ruined the mood and made me not want to order anything else from there.

Haven't eaten here for a while. We used to love the food but were rather disappointed this time. The loaded fries were hardly loaded at all, and the pizza (the main thing we went for) was like cardboard - definitely just a frozen pizza. We left more than half of it. We love the Loft, just a shame about the food.

A very nice and welcoming bar and eatery close to Bullring and Grand Central. It's perfect for meeting ahead of a show at Birmingham Hippodrome, or a night out on Hurst Street. It can get really busy on weekends. Nice cocktails and outside seating area.

We decided that with restrictions being lifted during the COVID-19 outbreak instead of taking a trip abroad, we’d book to stay a few nights up North. New to the area we were amazed to receive a warm welcome from the amazing Gary to then be greeted with quality service from Liv at the Loft. This is an amazing place to visit for top quality, chilled nights out full of amazing drink, entertainment and an amazing menu! We’ll be sure to visit again just to get back to this awesome place. Thanks to the Loft team from Marcie and Alice :)

Music too loud in the back room. Not a sociable level and having to shout to be heard.

  • 5/5 Basira G. 4 years ago on Google
Celebrated my sons 18th birthday there and all my guests had a fantastic time our server was great she looked after us really well even though it was busy I can't believe I knew all the songs the DJ played it was mad the only negative for me was the music was a tad to loud we had to shout at each other but in saying that it added to the fun The food was alright I would definitely go there again and would recommend to anyone to have their Adult celebrations there.
