Absolute gem, we have driven past this for so many years. I never knew about it until we fancied a Sunday roast and did some research. We will be coming back, absolutely gorgeous Sunday roast. Everyone was happy. Thank you so much. Our waiter was great, the food came out in good time and was lovely and warm. My wife was happy with the vegetarian option, she said it was the best ever! Very well priced! Won’t go anywhere else when we are in the neighbourhood. Thank you

I slept here once in the late 90's. I waited until last orders, then lay down and rolled under one of the benches. The staff stayed another hour after closing to clean up but I stayed very still. Once they had all gone I slept in one of the Booths and set an alarm to wake up before opening. Just to be safe I hid under the bench again until 1pm, a family came in and sat at my bench and had brunch at 11am so I had to wait until they had gone but I picked at the left overs before it was cleared away. The perfect way to get Bed and Breakfast for free.

I had a deeply unsettling experience at this venue. The bar staff, who are the sole independent witnesses, refused to cooperate with the police investigation. The complete absence of CCTV in the venue is a major security concern. What's even more alarming is that the bar staff failed to intervene when the perpetrators committed their first act of violence. As a result, I, along with others, have been left with life-changing injuries. This is undeniably not a safe place, and I strongly advise caution to anyone considering a visit.

What an amazing pub! Huge place with an even bigger outdoor seating area that joins onto the bowling green behind the venue. Super attentive staff and we also felt the need to partake in some chow from the Original Patty Men that were onsite. Fries were damned delicious and very reasonably priced. We only popped into this place as we were partaking in the BrimBrewFest which this pub was not actually part of. However, we liked it so much, we popped back again once we had ticked off the other pubs we needed to visit in the area. It was THAT good! Highly recommended!

The staff were welcoming and friendly. They had a drink for everyone so we were happ. The DJ played cool tunes.Their lovely intimate Christmas market outside was sweet, we loved all the independent stores. Got some beautiful presents for fam & friends. The vibe was chilled and relaxed and put you in the mood for Christmas.🎄

Decent pub, lots of seating both in and out. Serves ale for a reasonable price. Burger place in the pub which looks good. Small carpark out front.

Nice place. Huge garden and massive event screen. At seat service by app. Good range of beer but quite pricey, by pub standards, I thought.

Only popped in for a cup of tea the girl served us was very pleasant. l needed a cup of hot water for my teabag as she didn't have what I wanted and it was free of charge. Makes a change as some places charge. So all very nice.

What a nice find! A very nice concept with great food and great drinks! Awesome atmosphere, we visited for the first time and there was a Christmas market in the garden under a big tent, it was fabulous and nice stalls from wax, decorations, wild game and even French charcuterie and food! Staff are friendly and helpful, darts game and locals are super friendly! Will visit again.

Visited last night (Friday), super busy, super hot but the staff were spot on getting through it like absolute troopers. The manager getting stuck in too which is rare to see in a pub. Beer as always was bang on, always a good fresh pint. Best pub for miles.

Popped in for an afternoon drink after a lovely afternoon at craft market. Fantastic place, lovely cosy vibe and service was brilliant. Wanted a hot drink on a cold December day and spotted mulled cider. Barman advised it wasn’t quite ready and came up with a perfect alternative of a boozy coffee with a shot of coffee tequila… delicious! And I got to taste the tequila first too 👍Thank you… we will definitely be back 😊

Great place all round! Really nice grounds probably the best grounds I have seen, good atmosphere never dull. However should be another bar, Toliets are terrible just small and really unclean Isn't nice seeing people having to queue up and when full ques can go outside the toilets, Also a few hazards with bumps and deep steps near some doors

The British Oak is a good pub. It's a huge space so you know you can always get seats somewhere. It's not too expensive. The staff are nice. Would definitely recommend the beer garden in summer and an OPM burger. It can be a bit rowdy occasionally and the toilets are often a bit grim, but you can always rely on it to deliver exactly what it aims to

Large pub, large beer garden. Large screen TV with sport when we visited. Regular music and wvents/promotions. Onsite guest contractor food (usually). Good beer selection. No higher stars as inside spaces tend to be quite drafty with limited seating (majority is outside in the large beer garden). Online ordering for drinks and food is good, but not always kept up to date with what is actually behind the bar.

Very old fashioned. Poorly decorated and the toilets were disgusting. The beer was well kept though. I only stopped there as a meeting point for going elsewhere. I can't comment on food as I didn't eat there and also a service comment could not be made as I was only served at the bar which was not in the room in which I sat. Poorly laid out place.

Unfortunately the vegan burger was not good at all - the bread had a strange odour of old and rancid oil, the lattuce was completely missing and overall the different ingredients had no taste at all. I left it in the end, as the rancid oil smell / taste was really bad

Good pub - good selection of beers. Shows live sport. Bar staff were very good and put the sport on I wanted which was a nice touch. Looks like it would be great in the summer months -great out door space

I've been here late afternoon Saturday first time, and the place was buzzing. Great burgers - although I'm dairy free, I asked for a no cheese burger, but sauces were added by staff anyway. However, it's really nice chilled, background funky music made all the difference. The only downside for me is that having so much space both inside and outside can become a bit chaotic and loud. Otherwise I have nothing else to add. Will definitely come back.

Great place to get a pint in the evening. Really big garden in the back with open seating and covered seating. The burger place in the back is great. It gets very loud and lively some nights.

Great food from Original Patty Men 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 massive pub and massive outdoor garden. App for drinks very quick service. Not much parking always very busy so you have to park down the road.

The garden is still love, with green views towards the river. They have a lot of music events and serve food and cocktails. I did eat here a few years ago and it was fine. They've since changed the menu. The pub itself is lovely but the toilets are dingy and horrible and I would never come on a busy night. They need a new toilet block but they've done a lovely, respectful job redoing the rest of the rooms, in keeping with the Victorian splendour.

Went for a bit of OPM burger goodness. And oh boy, I'd argue that the burgers here are even tastier than at the digbeth venue. Food was 5 star Staff were friendly Bang on!

How can anyone actually dislike this pub? It has arguably the best outside space of any pub I've been to yet in Birmingham, the staff are very down-to-earth and friendly, a darts board, spacious interior, and of course good beer.

A local favourite after work spot to grab a pint and take a load off. Huge outdoor area with big screens to catch up on current sports, and access to delicious OPM burgers.

Nice pub showing football near where we were staying however bar staff are the absolute nosiest staff I have ever had the misfortune of being near. They threw bottles into the bottle bin as loud as they could....customers nearby were having heart attacks! As an ex bar tender myself we were trained to not be heard rather than bang crash wallop every few minutes! Not pleasant. A real shame.
