Called in for an evening drink and then returned the next morning for an English breakfast. On both occasions service was excellent. They have a reasonable range of drinks. On Sunday morning we were looking for breakfast and decided to eat here. The full English breakfast without eggs was my choice and my wife had scrambled egg on toast. Both meals were quickly prepared and served. They were hot and tasty and good value for money for a city centre pub. The only mistake I made was not to spot black pudding on the menu which I would have avoided if I had realised. Tea was plentiful and the young lady that served us was happy to top up the pot when requested. Both meals were nice and the experience was only spoiled by watching England cricket team collapse to another T20 defeat by a far superior Bangladesh team but that is not the pubs fault. Well worth a visit anytime. Do not be put off by the unfortunate sign letter omission on the canal side of the pub which I’m sure they will fix in the future.

Adult burger meal was nice, but the kids meals very disappointing. Got kids Sausages meal, looked cheap and nasty looking, the sausages were very hard and burnt. When I initially mentioned it, and asked for different sausages she replied would put them in microwave. I eventually got fresh sausages made which were better. But the point is, why send out a plate in the first place that completely lacks any quality (even tho its a children's meal, still expect it to be of decent quality). Wasn't impressed

We came for food on a Sunday, my burger was fine however my partner’s fish was clearly re heated about twice - it was inedible. We asked for a fresh fish or to order another dish as the fish was awful and we were told as the fish had already been eaten (two bites to try it- inedible) we would have to pay for a new main. The waitress was unapologetic and rude, and did not empathise at all

Came here today, lovely all ate afternoon/evening stop with drinks but found some customers to be quite rude telling me to wipe my daughters nose despite he was begging for change, this place is lovely. Husband said staff who served him had a face on them. Toilets are clean/baby changing facility is clean. Nice location by the canal. Drinks weren’t badly priced though and did drinks for my daughters (3 & 8) never tried the food maybe next time.

We decided to visit the German market in Birmingham, and have a look around other places etc: we came across this pub as we could hear music, we are a very musical family so was intrigued to go inside to see what it was all about! The pub was very busy so we couldn’t get close enough to see the band but they sounded great 😊 we couldn’t get to the bar unfortunately, so we just stayed a while and decided we will go back again to eat in there and hopefully they will have music on 🙏

Great food, pub food, not all fried. Able to sit outside by the canal side off Broad Street. Food had a 30 minute wait but was freshly prepared. Good staff at the bar to take orders, and food brought to our table. App ordering available but I didn't use it.

Popped in early Friday evening for a bite to eat. Really was not expecting much as I always see it as cheap and cheerful. How wrong I was. I had a burger topped with pork belly and cheese - never seen that before. Obviously came with chips (not fries). It was amazing, thoroughly enjoyed it and want it again! Others in the group had veggie pie, again they really enjoyed it. The other group member had fish and chips, it looked great and they said it was. All in all the food was excellent and a good price. Also a bottle of wine for £15 - cannot go wrong with that. There was a DJ playing a good mix of music at first then it changed to mainly R&B with is not my genre, but another time it could have been ny type of music, j did notreallymind though. We didn't stay for a dance this time. As we were there mainly for food and drink, I have to say we were not disappointed and would recommend a visit for food.

Very busy bar, took an age to get served- no fault of the bar staff, just not enough of them! Food was barely warm, definitely not worth the extremely long wait, and not value for money. Most menu items unavailable.

lovely pub, i have been here multiple times with my family for food and always great quality. Good atmosphere on a Saturday evening, lee is a great Dj and most of the staff are pleasant & efficient. Gee is always so helpful & welcoming. Some of the managers however are very rude.

Went during a week day. Nice and quiet as we have an infant. Staff were totally fine and friendly. Plenty of room and good atmosphere. Food was decent, but it could have been better. Not to sound too negative but the Sticky BBQ wings were not that sticky as they just had a light sauce on top when really it could have done with more or at least a dipping pot on the plate. The sharer BBQ nachos were fine portion-wise, however there was very little BBQ beef or sour cream. There was an excess of guacamole which did not hide the fact that the beef and sour cream were practically missing from the plate. The cheese was hard and melted to the nachos. Maybe placing cheese on top would have been better. Better luck next time maybe...

Great music and great atmosphere on a Saturday night! Just what you’d want on the weekend. Prices are decent and the staff and manager on shift were very friendly and attentive. Will definitely come back!

What a great experience! Speciality Menu has some great choices, lovely decor, food tasted delicious but above all the staff were so professional and friendly from the very moment we walked in! The manager is clearly passionate about his business and staff and this clearly reflects in the service and his team! Top marks to you all and thank you for looking after us so well :))

Went with a group for Christmas dinner (3rd year going) . Not sure if they have a new chef as its usually nice but this year was disgusting. The roast potatoes were burnt black. I asked for some that were not burnt and they had the audacity to bring out some that were more burnt than the first lot. They were black and should have been in the bin....wouldn't serve that to my dog! Maybe if the chefs focused in the kitchen instead of being outside smoking....then the food wouldn't have been so burnt!! The sprouts (served with the turkey) were hard and couldn't be cut into. The nut roast consisted of the nut roast, burnt roast potatoes and mushy broccoli.. Everyone who had that was starving after! For a vegetarian option you would expect to see more vegetables on the plate at least.. They didn't even get a Yorkshire pudding or mash potatoe. There were no parsnips or carrots on the vegetarian or meat option. The puddings were bought out whilst the dinner plates were still on the table. The whole thing was a joke. Will never be going back and would not recommend.

Visited on Saturday night for a meal with friends, staff were really friendly and helpful as someone had taken our reserved table. They were really efficient in resolving this and getting us chairs we needed. Unfortunately the food wasn't very good the food was really over cooked and even burnt so we didn't end up eating it.

Vistited The Brasshouse today as passing, as had a voucher to use for Moretti. Unfortunately told there is none. No alternative offered as its a voucher. Gave 1 extra star just because place looked clean and tidy. We left in end and didn't continue with planned meal and went across to O'Neills instead for food and drink.

Came here with lady friend for brunch. We ordered avocado and eggs on toast with a traditional large breakfast. One of the worst breakfasts I have ever had! Everything was dry and most of the meats on mine were burnt. Didn't want to ruin the mood and atmosphere so didn't bother complaining. Absolutely terrible and no excuse as it wasn't even busy!! Hope this saves some poor soul from a similar experience!

Few items not available (garlic mushroom small plate and strawberry sundae) but chicken strips and mushroom small plate was good, chips not nice and I love chips! Outside fine but inside was like mash potato so couldn't eat them as actually tasted of mash potato. Staff lovely but we weren't asked how our food was. Lovely clean place and would go again but not have chips.

Really nice comfortable pub, very smart & well kept. Feasted on a mixed grill which was all well cooked and filling. All staff brilliant on the day special mention to Emma (I think that was her name) who came over and chatted with me, the value of this type of engagement should never be overlooked. On the downside on day of visit there was a lacklustre choice of real ales, just national brands. I did drink the Hobgoblin Gold and quality was very good. So one star just knocked off for the choice of ales. Recommend this pub.

Great New Years Eve, spontaneous night out and didn't pre-book but managed to get in. Slowly picked up closer to midnight and a great atmosphere. Free glass of bubbly for each of our group was nice. Also a nice touch that the bartenders were able to join in the New Year Celebrations with customers and each other. We had a dance with a few of the bartenders just after midnight, lovely bunch! Only criticism would be the toilet attendant, slightly tacky and pressuring people to buy sprays and lollies.

Lovely pub, good atmosphere, but when we finally found somewhere to sit we were asked to move!! (Wasn't given a reason!!) the only table free was covered in dirty food plates!! But fortunately a couple were leaving and offered their table 👍but the table with dirty plates wasn't cleared for over an hour!! So all we could smell was left over pork 😕🐽

Stopped by for a late dinner+drinks, staff were very friendly and kind enough to accommodate us without advance booking. Although they didn't have any cocktails at the time, we were pleasantly surprised by the food. We ordered the pie of the day, roasted duck and buttermilk fried pork belly.

Came for lunch and service was good but food quality not so good. I enjoyed my burger but my partner had the pizza and was disappointed at the cheap tomato puree and cheddar cheese topping. Please state on the menu that it's cheddar and not margarita. I wish we'd said something but neither of us like to complain.

We were looking for a place to have a few drinks and a meal after my brothers wedding at register office. The manageress here was more than willing to do all she could. We chose the room we liked. On the day, the room was all prepared for us, decorations(that we had provided), tables arranged and posters hung up, cake table arranged and presented cake. We all had meals which were amazing! Very nice food! I can't thank them enough for all they did for us. We hD a great time. Thank you to all the staff involved. I highly recommend The Brasshouse.

Had a brief visit to the Brasshouse for lunch and pint. Food was good quality and quick service. Beer selection was good and the pint I had, Mercia from the Derby Brewing Company was an excellent accompiament to my scampi and chips. All in all a nice way to spend a rainy lunchtime in Birmingham next to the canal.

Me and the Mrs went for a lovely meal mid heatwave. Pretty sure the food was cooked by leaving it in the sun for 30 seconds as it was a nice quick service, much quicker then using the ovens and fryers. Had a nice swig of cider before the rest of it evaporated as we sat in the sun As soon as we got home, I got to inspect the lovely pattern off the chairs as I had a nice checker pattern sun burn over my back Great quick food, nice and tasty and I think the cider was nice what I go to drink of it. Recommended.

Good Sunday roast. Latest edit: the Sundays meals dropped huge in quality, from a nice sunday roast. Now is just a bunch of chopped vegetables without flavour. Please change back the menu or you will loose all customers.

It's a nice, big pub in a wonderful canal side location. Prices are fair for town centre and the beer is well kept. All in all, no complaints

Popped in for Sunday lunch, meals were tasty and plentiful. Reasonably priced and would recommend. Only concern is the chips are not suitable for vegetarian as they are cooked in the same fat as meat products.
