Visited here on Wednesday with the family for our evening meal. Completely agree with the other reviews on here - really lovely, characterful pub with such friendly & chatty staff. Our meals were great. Beer garden is a lovely addition too. Would definitely recommend a visit.

A lovely old pub. Popped in on the way through Birmingham. The food was beautiful and Simon was so friendly behind the bar. Can't recommend the place enough. Beer garden at the back. Highly recommended.

Super welcoming barmaid made us visitors feel at ease straight away and invited us to sit in the shady beer garden where we took our lovely refreshing drinks to peruse the food menu, ordering food was quick and simple and when the food arrived it was hot and very tasty. Our visit was only spoilt by a stag party meeting up in the beer garden and becoming super rowdy. We soon ate up and left after that otherwise we would have ordered desserts and more drinks as our hotel was right next door.

We decided to have lunch here on a whim. It was clean, welcoming and the Christmas decorations were lovely. The service at the bar was prompt and friendly and I ordered a pint of Laine's Breaker which was really well kept. For food we chose the festive burger and festive turkey meal from the specials list. Both were great value at less than £15 each. Really enjoyed both, great pub and will return when we have more time.

Excellent meet and greet , and we quickly established we needed to order food quickly,. The waitress serving us read nothing short of brilliant. She took a time of our need for departure and everything worked round that. I have to say no we are regular attendees but different names

A beautiful pub serving amazing food in a beautiful building. It has a lovely outdoor seating area also. TVs showing sport if you want it and nice clean toilets. Staff were amazingly friendly and professional. Famous for their pies which I will be trying on my next visit for sure. Close to the city centre library, town hall and rep. A really lovely break in our journey back home. Thank you so much.

Wonderful! Great beer, delicious food, beautiful design and very, very friendly staff. We came to Birmingham for one day and ended up visiting this place twice, for lunch and an evening pint and snacks. Wholeheartedly recommend (and have the plum porter and one of the pies!!!)!

Their pies are epic and the carrots out of this world. Really good calamari and pulled duck croquettes for a shared starter for 3 of us. Staff really friendly and accommodating. Thanks for a fantastic meal!

One of the best pubs in the city centre... albeit pricy. Real ales are excellent, good sports tellies, and nice and warm in the winter

Absolutely fantastic pub! The food was superb. I had the steak and ale pie and it was delicious. Beer is great. I recommend the Nicholsons Pale Ale. 🍺 The girls behind the bar were great and really friendly. Football was on the telly too. Only thing I would say is that the men’s toilet door needs fixed as it’s missing from the cubicle but I’m sure that’s getting sorted.

A great lil pub doing great beers! Had a pie whilst we were there which was great value for money. I ordered the pulled lamb Shepard's pie and the lamb was definitely more chunks but it was still super tasty! Friendly folk behind the bar too!

Had a wonderful dinner with the friendliest service from Lizzie! Food was super delicious - the award winning steak pie as well as the fish & chips (plus scampi) were excellent. We also loved the sticky toffee pudding. Kids meals were a great value. Definitely a great place to hit up for some traditional pub fare!

I'd made a group booking for 20 people. We arrived later than planned for a few reasons, but the team at the pub were very accommodating and efficient. The food we had pre-ordered was bought out promptly and was hot and well presented. I'd like to pass on my thanks to the team for being so helpful

Ryan and Iona are the best hosts and the staff are amazing. We were a table of 12 celebrating 2 birthdays. We were made to feel welcomed and everyone were so friendly and helpful. The food arrived quickly and hot, compliments to the chef. We will most definitely be visiting this lovely old fashioned pub again. Keep up the good work. Sharon and party.

Great pub that does lovely food, staying next door at the ibis styles hotel, so popped in for a beer. The menu looked good, so ordered the Gammon, chips and eggs, it was fantastic value and tasted delicious. Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere even during the week. Totally recommended.

A lovely traditional pub so close to the city centre but with a relaxed vibe. The welcome was friendly and the beer and food were excellent! The menu is simple but cooked to absolute perfection. I had the fish and chips which was the best I've had in a long time and my husband said his beef and ale pie was delicious! We didn't have room for a pudding so I'm afraid we can't make comment on that! We'll definitely look forward to returning soon!
