Nice pub in a nice area of Birmingham... St Paul's square is generally a pleasant enough place. Beers were good, staff were nice... Good Pun!! 🍺👍👌

What a cracking pub! Had my 50th here end of January. Kate, the Manager is lovely and very helpful. Buffet food was very reasonably priced and there was a lot of it! Kate even reserved an area of the pub for about 30 people. I really can't fault this place and the Live music (it was a Friday) was fantastic. Good sound, not too loud, so you can still have a natter with your mates! Thank you Kate. Everybody enjoyed themselves and this was the perfect venue!

Wonderful music venue, some staff were very rude and ti say the same people were slow is an understatement.Standing about behind the bar when people had been waiting for over 15 mins.

Called for a quick one. Nice selection of beers. Plenty of places to sit including a large decked area out front. Toilets were OK but like most pubs nowadays NO paper towels but electric hand dryers that don't work.

Paid good money to see the Sound of the Sirens at this venue. The venue management are clueless they had the house band playing very loud downstairs with the Sirens upstairs, why would they do that??? Fortunately the girls were able to play above the "covers" coming from below. Note to manager, don't have a house band playing when you have professional musicians, very inconsiderate and unprofessional

Great place for live music, reasonably priced for Birmingham and friendly service. However the amenities need work. One WC stall in the mens room and there's no lock on the door. I had to hold door shut whilst sitting and then TWICE got hit in the face with the door whilst standing and adjusting my clothing ! ONE bolt is all that is required!

Went to watch sound of the sirens great gig nice venue. I do have one gripe aboit the noise from the band and music from the lower room. Might be best to check that nothing is on to fully enjoy a gig.

Very nice venue and atmosphere. The toilets ran out of toilet roll which is bad when it was a busy night. We watched a great selection of songs by Carl sinclair and Harry Weston. First time there and impressed at the decor. Would have liked to see a picture showing previous use in history as a jewellery shop.

Legendary pub. Always good quality music, drinks and events. We regularly attend the Monday night pub quiz which is always a lot of fun. Bar staff are very friendly.

We went to the Actress & Bishop to see Andy Bennett (ex Ocean Colour Scene) perform. We were able to reserve a table a couple of days before hand, for when we arrived. It was a very busy place with lots of people coming & going. Andy Bennett was brilliant, especially as there was also a group playing upstairs which could be heard in between his songs. The Actress & Bishop is well worth a visit, whether it be a place to me up at before going on to somewhere else, or making it your place for the night.

A refreshingly friendly lounge music venue for all ages. No waiting ages to be served. Great outdoor space and reasonable prices. Best in st. Paul's square.

As far as pubs go. I would recommend it because the people that frequent it are friendly. Staff are polite and hard working. Definitely would recommend it for a good pub

Not been here for many years, now live music and an eclectic mix of customers ensured we had a great time. Staff friendly and efficient. Security personnel professional and approachable. Did I mention I had a great time, would definitely recommend.

Great Saturday night upstairs watching The Real People and Nigel from Dodgy. Bar staff quick and efficient. The place was full but not bursting. Really is a good venue for an intimate gig. Only downside it was really hot and we were only standing still (and drinking)

Everything was perfect with our booking for a party. The staff were extra friendly, the food was great and the venue itself was lovely. Thanks all!!

No covid procedures followed, great security at the door, friendly staff, dance floor a bit cramped, good slections of bears and sprits, space is limited so you feel on top of one another. However great place yo meet friends and colleagues to party the night away, have out side seating

Huge thanks to Dan, Katie + the team for hosting our event! Hired upstairs for a gender reveal, which included a manned bar (reasonably priced drinks!), disco lights + music, really good buffet and super friendly staff! Would definitely recommend for a venue hire / just go there for a drink!

LOVED it! Hadn't been to the Actress in... pshuhuhuhu maybe 10 years, so I didn't know what to expect, but was blown away by the place and the friendliness of the staff. I definitely won't leave it another 10 years before visiting again 😂🍻

Just spent an awful evening here being targeted and abused by the door staff for my attire…. They disapproved of my hat (blue baseball cap) despite letting me in and purchasing a drink wearing said hat. Only to be confronted all night by door staff who were basically looking for a fight.

Overwhelming smell of disinfectant and bleach on arrival. Very unpleasant! We had soft drinks as it was hot and during the day and we all agreed they tasted odd?! Should have complained but moved on instead.
