The
church
tavern
used
to
be
really
good.
Value
for
money,
decent
food
and
a
friendly
atmosphere.
Sadly
this
is
no
longer
the
case.
I
had
a
Sunday
roast.
Everything
seemed
overcooked
and
somewhat
low
grade?
The
staff
that
took
our
order
churned
us
through
and
overall
my
party
were
left
feeling
dissatisfied.
(That
said,
the
staff
that
brought
out
the
food
were
friendly
and
polite)
From
the
many
years
my
family
have
been
visiting,
we've
noticed
that
the
quality
and
service
dips
severely,
then
changes
are
made
and
it
improves
significantly.
After
a
while,
standards
dip
again
and
the
cycle
continues.
I
am
not
in
the
food
industry
so
take
this
with
a
pinch
of
salt,
but
there
are
two
fundamental
changes
that
are
needed
before
my
family
consider
making
the
church
tavern
their
local
again;
1
-
More
staff.
It's
evident
that
the
number
of
staff
required
to
operate
effectively
isn't
being
met.
The
staff
are
rushed
and
that
leads
to
quality
issues.
I'd
pay
more
for
food
and
drink
to
cover
this
cost.
2
-
Rules
about
children.
Whilst
I
know
the
draw
is
that
it's
Got
a
child
friendly
area
(fuzzy
eds?
I
don't
have
children
so
I'm
unaware
of
this
service)
the
pub
sounds
like
a
creche!
Screaming
children
running
rampant!
This
is
not
a
pleasant
environment
for
family
meals.
Whilst
I'm
not
saying
'ban
children
from
the
pub',
I
do
think
having
a
dining
area
for
'adults'
and
a
'all
ages'
area
would
make
more
sense.
If
I
recall
correctly,
this
was
in
place
maybe
5-10
years
ago?
Apologies
for
the
long
message
however
I
wanted
to
quantify
my
low
score.
My
family
really
enjoy
meeting
up
at
the
church
tavern
but
it's
no
longer
a
pleasant
experience.
