Great spot for some breakfast in the city centre. Visited on a Saturday morning with our friends for breakfast and beers. The staff were all really friendly and the cafe was nice a clean. There is loads on the menu but I went with banoffee pancakes and wow they were so good! Soft fluffy pancakes, loads of topping, REAL maple syrup 😋 Left very happy, would definitely go back. Highly recommended.

A very relaxing atmosphere here, creating a positive vibe. I had a very good wheat beer, apparently from the world's oldest brewery. Pleasant music on the sound system and comfortable sofas. I didn't eat on this visit. Jazz session every other Tues or Wednesday.

Sadly this wasn’t very satisfying. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the place is filled with natural light, but the food was poor. Also, the portions for a ‘hearty vegan breakfast’ were anything but hearty. One sausage, one tiny has brown, spoon of beans and tomatoes with some razor thin mushroom. Looking at people eating the meat based versions, their plates were spilling over! So something untoward is going on. Would try elsewhere next time.

About a 3rd of the menu is vegan! Great find in central Birmingham, a stone's throw from New Street train station. This place is great value for money, with very filling portions! Service was (and has been every time we've been) prompt even though they were busy. Highlights include the tasty seasoned batter on the cauliflower wings, and the quality of the chips. However, the meaty option of fried chicken pancakes left something to be desired as they were a little dry without the maple syrup accompaniment, and could do with more toppings besides the chicken - advertised with peppers and had only two pieces! Would even sacrifice a piece of chicken in favour of a more well rounded topping offering. In addition, I personally wish people would stop serving food on paper when you use a knife and fork though - I'm not in it for the paper - I'm in it for the tasty grub. Would recommend highly, and will certainly visit again!

We found Cherry Reds on a quick Google search for local vegan food and I'm so glad we did. I had the best pancakes I've ever tasted this morning. The Banana Chocolate Fudge American pancakes were fantastic. My wife had the Blueberry Cheesecake pancakes and shared my opinion that they were amazing. She also had the Mexican hot chocolate which was delicious and perfect for the cold weather. My daughter had slice of the oreo cake and seemed to enjoy it. The staff were very helpful and nice and the cafe itself was tlreally pleasant and festive.

Food was really good and came really quick. Coffee sadly let it down - steam wand wasn't cleaned before or after when coffee was made and foam wasn't up to scratch. Really like the venue and great place for a brunch with fun decor.

Really nice place with seating upstairs and down, there's also extra seating outdoors. Function room available, unsure on how many it holds though. Plenty of food and drink choices on the menu. Had a chicken dish with roast potatoes and mushrooms and it was very nice, would definitely recommend. Board games on a shelf upstairs if you get bored waiting for a train or something. Just a cool place with a nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

Have always loved Cherry Reds and so glad to see it's still thriving a few pandemic-filled years since my last visit. Plenty of well kept beer on tap with a rotating guest list, and the food still looking great too. There were many reasons to move to Brum and Cherry Red's is one of them

Visited on a Saturday evening. Vegan burger & vegan cake was absolutely delicious & reasonably priced at a great location just a few minutes walk from Birmingham New Street train station. Toilets are upstairs via a narrow staircase.

A querky, vibrant place that serves good quality food. The staff were friendly and welcoming, although you did have to order at the till. I ordered the full English, a good portion size and all of the ingredients were good quality and cooked perfectly. A sausage with a bit more of a punch and a more hospitable customer service experience would have pushed it up to a 5 star review. Definitely worth going.

Really cute restaurant. We enjoy the English breakfast here. And you can add extra toppings or toast with bargain price. The owners are really cute like they have a post mentioned their coffee machine has passed away and RIP. Like it said, temporarily, they don’t serve coffee. But the breakfast and tea are both good. The place is quiet and decoration are interesting. Kinda 1980s style? Definitely will come back again.

Beautiful delicious and hearty vegan options, amazing coffee, and lovely staff! I had scrambled tofu on granary toast and it was everything you'd want from a scramble, without the eggs! Also had 2 oat-milk cappuccinos as the first one was so good! Seating outside as it was such a lovely day. Really close to New Street station, but in a quieter area, so felt relaxing and continental! This is a little gem of a place - highly recommended!

Cherry Red's is a place that I fell in love more and more with every visit. They're literally perfect for breakfast, lunch, dinner, tea/coffee and drinking. My favourite part are the pancakes and the selection of funky ciders.

Lovely food, I had the veggie breakfast and blueberry pancakes. Empty plate speaks for itself. I wish the interior was more refined. I went back for the banana fudge pancakes which weren't as good and the hearty breakfast.

Nice place to stop off for a pint or two. Good, honest food. Their breakfast is definitely hearty. However, if you’re the type that likes your food separated, then beware of the full breakfast. The eggs sit on top of the beans, tomatoes and mushrooms - no DMZ between items unfortunately. Also in my experience, more often than not - if you add extras to your breakfast, don't be surprised that items may be missing, you get items you didn't order or you have to wait a while for your order, especially when it gets busy. A down to earth place for an easy afternoon.

Great atmosphere 👌 They have a wide selection of beers and ciders. Would highly recommend if you want a nice chilled place for some food or drinks. Plus the views are pretty nice...

Excellent food at affordable prices! A surprising amount of seating upstairs and a great atmosphere. We had the hash (with goat cheese), a fish finger roll, the day's homemade soup (leek and potato) with a roll, and a triple stack of pancakes with added bacon and egg. The rolls were seriously yummy as they seemed to have toasted/fried them in butter or something 🤤 I'd also recommend the Mexican hot chocolate 🫶

Came here for a hearty breakfast to prepare me for the journey back down to London. The Banoffee Pancake breakfast was definitely hearty, 🍌🥞 I couldn't finish the whole meal but I did my best. Customer service was nice and friendly, they don't automatically add Service Charge either so feel free to tip the staff. 💷👍🏾 The decor is quirky and vintage, the place has a retro feel, I especially like the sink area outside of the upstairs toilets, they also have accessible toilets downstairs. ✅♿ I feel the prices represent value for money, the toppings on my pancakes were a little sickly for my personal taste but you don't have to add the extra syrup, if I got them again I'd ask for them to omit the toffee crumble and halve their caramel sauce because I prefer the taste if maple syrup. You collect your own cutlery and they were a little grubby but nothing a quick wipe with a damp serviette couldn't sort out. 🍴🧼 Overall I do recommend Cherry Red's. ✅🍒🔴

Absolutely love this place!! First visited on my very first date with my now boyfriend of a year! Come here throughout the year and the staff are 10/10 along with the food and generous with their portions! Love coming here and trying out different foods. Lovely 40s kind of atmosphere, slow jazz music and great variety of food. Will always come back to CherryReds. Deserves a lot more recognition🩷

I found this place online and headed here due to the decent reviews. It has a nice chilled atmosphere and the service from all staff was great. I had a hearty breakfast and coffee, both were great and very reasonably priced by today's standards. They also have a very good beer selection which caught my eye. I came for breakfast and stayed for the beer.
