Came here for lunch as it was close to our hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was excellent and tasty. There was a good selection of drinks and the place was spotlessly clean.

Visited Birmingham for the day and this place was recommended by a couple of local council workers. Good food, nice decor, and we appreciated the quiet room at the back of the place. Would definitely return

My sister and I went to the Troc today for lunch. We haven't been there for a while and whilst we found the soft drink prices quite overpriced, the cost of lunch was very reasonable and to be honest, much better than either of us expected. The staff were friendly and overall a great experience, will definitely do it again but will go straight for the wine rather than the lemonade ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‰ lemonade ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‰

Came here to watch sports and it was perfect! Decent selection of draught beers and enough large TVs scattered to watch sport easily. Staff are friendly and the place has a great vibe, especially on match days!

We visited yesterday for the first time, initially just looking to get in out the cold. We enjoyed the decor for the most part, the green tiles were reminiscent of public toilets from the 80's BUT they added to the eclectic steampunkish vibe with copper pipe and gauge art work on the walls. Found the bar-staff to be quiet rude, more interested in their personal conversations than engaging with patrons. The waiting staff appeared in no hurry clearing tables despite walking past empty handed several times. We ordered Lemonade and a pint of Carling ยฃ7:90, then pint and a half of Carling ยฃ7:35... Found it unusual to find a non-alcoholic drink so much more expensive than a alcoholic one by such a big margin. Curly (twisty) fries were overpriced for the portion size, we saw a pizza arrive at the next table hanging off it's platter and touching the table when placed by the server and found it off putting. The toilets although clean were both (m/f) dark and dingy, I've watched too many horror films to feel comfortable there, a strange damp smell in the gents which my wife informs me wasn't present in the ladies. We'd visit again if passing an there wasn't any other option but wouldn't make it a preselected destination.

Great place came for the cocktails, passion fruit Martini was very strong. But tasted great, also ordered the mojito and another passion fruit martini.

Beautiful exterior and interior. One of the best looking pubs in Birmingham. Drink prices were great and food was delicious - the macaroni and cheese impressed even my Italian girlfriend - so it must be good. Staff weren't the most polite but honestly a great pub all round.

Was here earlier today after not visiting for close to 10 years. It has always had a welcoming vibe but I was glad to see it had been renovated between visits. Has a stunning decor and a great atmosphere, will definitely return sooner!

Not great. Ordered rump steak medium, came out well done. Asked for it to be remade medium, waitress confirmed there was a plate mixup.. My replacement steak was rare, absolutely stone cold & was as tough as an old leather boot. Starter & dessert was nice enough & beer lines seemed properly cleaned - no chemicaly taste you get in so many places. Bathrooms were a disgusting state.

Surprisingly good considering the location in the city being orientated by heavy drinking. Lots of screens to watch the sports and a good selection of ales and lagers (I went with Neck Oil). Quick service. Did not try the food (due to the late hour) but the menu seemed OK and reasonably priced for your standard pub food offer. Toilets were also clean and a good size.

Nice pub in the city centre. We had a drink and ate here. I had the steak pie and my partner had...I don't know...some burger with Mac on. We both enjoyed our meals. Nice interior...just a shame the interior tiles that would have been weren't preserved like the external ones.

Love this place. Centre of town. One of the best atmospheres. Good range of ages. Great bar staff. Great choice of drinks. Good quality food.

This pub was a lucky find. Looking for somewhere to eat for a group of people with a few fussy eaters, we were all happy. The food was delicious. The service was great. The cost was very reasonable and I would recommend this place, so much so we went there two days in a row, whilst we were visiting Birmingham.

Me and a group of friends came here for a bottomless brunch (unlimited pizza and selected drinks) Our server Nerica showed us to our table and within 5mins we were sipping on cocktails. It was a very busy Saturday but the service was exceptional. The pizza's were so yummy and we were all so surprised on the size. We cannot wait to come here again. Excellent service, excellent food and excellent price.

Been before. Good atmosphere. We had meals, but we were disappointed with the amount of food on plate. Chips with Smothered Chicken. Bacon was very salty, tasted burnt. Smallest little dish with coleslaw in. Probably half a mouthful. Big space on plate. Expected at least a bit of side salad to fill the rest of plate.

Really nice bar. Can order in person or app. Food was nice and the draught beer was great. Had Steak and Guinness Pie and a pint of Asahi. Brilliant location and nice atmosphere. Only criticism would be the app asking if you want to leave a tip before you've had service. Surely you leave a tip after the service?

Fantastic little pub right next to new street station. Lots of TVs to watch the sports and some great food available. I was looked after by Sam and Ryan who had such great chemistry and really looked like they enjoyed working there!

Food was really good and the young male member of staff seemed nice, although not overly friendly. The female member of staff working on Sunday wasnโ€™t nice at all. Shame because itโ€™s a lovely pub with lots of history but if you encounter staff with an attitude, it puts you off returning.

I like the Troc. We don't drink in there much but whenever i go in i always think i should drink there more. Proper pub. It has had a face lift in recent years, but it is still a good old pub. It had the rugby on large screens everywhere as well. Pints were clean although expensive at over ยฃ6 for a pint of premium. It is 4.90 up at the joint stock.

Haven't used here for a few years. Popped in for breakfast. Was amazed at lack of choice. Pork & leek sausages not a breakfast sausage more for later in the day & then when ordered Irish hash told hadn't got the ingredients. Nice atmosphere & clean. Staff very welcoming. Will visit again but not for food.

We held a work Christmas event here and were really impressed. England-France were playing and the pub was really busy. We were put in a separate bit at the top food and drinks came out promptly, was plenty of food which was delicious, I would thoroughly recommend. Staff were friendly and helpful especially on such a busy day, It was very good value for money in a nice traditional pub.

What a beautiful pub with well mannered staff. Enjoyed an evening here with my friends, for food and drinks. Staff working that evening were incredible and friendly. I was personally dealt with by the manager himself Sam, which is really nice to see that the managers are getting involved with the table servicing and bar waiting as that doesn't always happen! Thank you for a lovely evening and we will be returning for other meals too.

Stopped for food on a busy day and had a few tapas and 2 margarita cocktails. All very nice, margaritas nice and strong. One question why do more and more places not put salt on the glasses with margaritas ?

Always pop in here on my arrival and departure to and from Birmingham. Great pub and food, friendly staff and prices are good too. Highly recommend it. Just had one of their Irish breakfast. So yummy.

Our go to pub in Birmingham, the location is ideal for practically anywhere in town and the vibes are truly immaculate. Itโ€™s honestly perfect for anything from afterwork drinks all the way to a proper night out. Id personally recommend their cocktails (the ocean sparkle could have been brewed by the mermaids themselves). The staff are really lovely and very helpful with my questions. Additionally the building is worth a visit on its own, apparently it used to be the old fire house and you can even see the pole hole in the ceiling! Good music, good drinks, good people.

Lovely pub and a great friendly team. Had a pint of Caldera and the Bacon and Cheese burger which were good and were delivered to my table fast. Only issue was the coleslaw but didnโ€™t affect my visit. Would 100% go again.

This was our meeting up pub for years back in the 80's, we have had stag do's, watched Cup Finals and broke many hearts... maybe not the last one. The Troc has undergone many changes of ownership, the toilets have been relocated a couple of times ( now down the stairs at the back of the pub). The Troc offers excellent beers and lagers as well as proper pub grub, burgers, pies etc. The Troc is very handy for travellers arriving by train to New Street station and you pass the equally excellent Shakespeare as a bonus.
