We had the chance to sample some dishes off the new menu which were all delicious. Would recommend the hot mess starter and the beyond meat burger. We will definitely be returning to try some of the other dishes!! Portions and prices are great value for money, especially with the deals that you can get.

Came here for food with my boyfriend. We had the 3 starters for £10 and a double chilli burger with chips. All food was served piping hot and in a timely manner. The pub was very clean and the atmosphere was good. I would recommend the food. The staff were very friendly and efficient.

Did not order any food as hated the atmosphere. We walked out without ordering. Its a very tiny restaurant and the staff wasn't very approachable

I went here for my Auntand Uncles birthday party. I accidentally smashed a glass in my hands after I caught it on my ring and I severely cut my finger. There was a deep gash in my finger, but the staff there were very helpful in treating my wound, so I thank them for that. I have been there a couple of times now for parties and the service is always spectacular and the drinks are great. Very friendly staff and delightful to talk to.

Me and my family ordered starters, mains, desserts and drinks, everything was up to standard and tasted great. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly. The DJ and atmosphere overall was fab. A huge thank you to Paige for making our night and providing a great service, we will all be visiting again soon.

We had food. It was hot andtasty. Would recommend the large fish and chips, better and cheaper than our local chippy. The pub was clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly.

Such a welcoming atmosphere. Nothing beats a good 'old fashioned' pub. Staff are so friendly, other customers so jolly, food was tasty and the sunshine helped. Plenty seating area outside aswell as inside. Definitely visiting again

I recently had fish and chips at this pub, and I must say, it was fantastic for the price! The food was delicious, and I felt like I got my money's worth. The service was excellent too, with the staff paying close attention to our needs. The pub itself was clean and had a welcoming atmosphere. Having gone to the Drakes Drum Great Barr for several events and food, the first thing that greets you when you walk through the door is the friendly welcoming atmosphere, well-lit decor, and spacious bar area. This reflected by the staff and management, who are genuinely friendly, happy to serve, and nothing is too much trouble to accommodate. The Pub regulars are just as friendly too! As for dining at the Drakes Drum, the tables generously spaced from other diners giving a comfortable (not crowded but also not too isolated feel), eating experience. Food service was exactly as ordered, prompt, hot, and served to a high quality of taste and presentation. Not to mention price of the meal was value for money, with special offers available. The Drakes Drum also frequently hosts events ranging from Quizzes, Music, Sports, Community, Children’s events and has a long history of fund raising for local and national charities. My overall experience of the Drakes Drum is a nice friendly place, with great staff, regular guests, food and events that make you want to go back again and again.

Just been in for the first time in a while, with family for some lunch. The bar staff are so nice 😊 and the landlady couldn’t do enough for us, made us really welcome. The food was such great value for money and a massive voice on the menu. We all had something we liked the jerk chicken salad was amazing 🤩 I’ll definitely be going again as there’s lots of entertainment on as-well. It’s such a big pub inside and a massive function room upstairs. We are looking forward to our next visit 😊

Had Christmas dinner here was delicious. Staff were friendly and went out of their way to please my family. We will definitely return next year.

Went for my cousin's birthday, played pool and darts, good pool table and good dart board, got served quick with drinks and food no complaints so far until I tried to return the Whiteball for the pool, we didn't have to pay a deposit been as we had our personal cues, but very rude bar staff turned me away until other, polite bar staff took the ball off me and put it behind the bar. Not very happy about certain bar staff, but our main staff that gave out our food and got our drinks was very nice.

I popped in on my lunch break as I was working round the corner. Food was lovely and prompt, lovely pint of Carling only made better by being served by Pat, she was wonderful 👌 nice one

Lovely little pub this is our local so we visit frequently, all the staff are really friendly. Paige served us today and she is lovely. Food was cooked well and come quickly thankyou drakes drum :)

We held my sons school prom at the Drakes Drum last night. We booked the function room a few months back and took a chance if Boris would allow bigger gatherings/groups and even parties to go ahead. Lorri the manager has just been amazing from start to finish. I think we drove her mad at times stressing over what might be allowed and what might not but Lorri always kept us in the loop and up to date with everything. She even took time out of her day off to contact me about something and called me off her own personal mobile. She really does go above and beyond and because of Lorri we had 80 happy children last night who had the best prom and a night to remember. Would highly recommend the Drakes Drum for functions and Lorri we will be back. Whether it's for food or drink we will see you soon.

Good pint of Carling always to be had here. Fast and friendly service. Nice to find a pub showing the cricket. We will be back to watch the live entertainment when it starts on a Sunday aswell.

Live around the corner for over 3 years and thought today we would try the food since it’s local. The price of the food is reasonable, BUT… everything was wrong after that. Ordered the surf and turf large for my dad with sweet potato fries with a peppercorn sauce and gammon for myself with sweet potato fries. As soon as I got back to the table my dad said he wanted normal chips. (My fault for miss hearing him) I went back to the bar straight away and was told that nothing could be changed and that I couldn’t have a refund for the sweet potato fries. I asked if the normal chips could be brought out anyway since they were included in the price of the surf and turf and we would have the extra sweet potato fries anyway. Response was “no problem”… I thought ok then despite the £26. Something for the 2 meals…. 12 for surf and turf, 6 for the sweet potato fries and 6.76 for gammon. Couldn’t make out why it should of been £1 or something like that cheaper.. so just left it. The meals came and there was 1 surf and turf and one sirloin rather than the gammon. No peppercorn sauce and 1 portion of sweet potato fries instead of the 2 we ordered. I returned to the bar advising them that I believe that I might have been given someone else’s order…. They seemed to be adamant that they were right, but since I asked if the egg and pineapple came with the gammon upon ordering it and the person who I placed the order with seemed to then remember, the issue was then sorted by a lovely girl very quickly and took both of our plates, so we could eat at the same time. The food came out after a short wait, the gammon and egg was nice but the rest cold, and my dads steak was then over cooked and had no flavour. Was too hungry at this point to say anything. The second lot of sweet potato fries never came and neither did the peppercorn sauce. My dad said the steak needed ketchup to give it flavour which is not good😞 So for what we had was 12+6.75+3. Wasn’t offered the difference back at all. A small amount, but that’s not the point. Such a shame as it’s our local! Won’t be returning I’m afraid.

Nice & clean. Taylor is a very happy young man and was very pleasant to us both. Nothing was to much trouble for him and shown us repsect. Sammy was also excellent, the food was fresh and delicious. Sammy the chef was excellent, the food was well presented and looked very tasty.

Really good and great value. The service is very good and the two ladies who served us at our table ,both gave great service, both very helpful.. Food was lovely , nice and hot on the plate . This is a great pub to visit
