Had a fabulous experience at 1000 trades, really nice venue with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Very popular with customers even on a Wednesday night. The staff were very relaxed yet attentive which is everything you need in hospitality. The food was delicious and different to anything I had experienced in Birmingham before. Definitely would recommend to anyone who is a true ale or natural wine drinker. Loved it!

Went on the recommendation from a colleague and will go again. The fish and chips was excellent, accompanied by a nice cider and followed by a good coffee. Will be heading back to check out the jazz they host regularly, looking forward to hearing some good live music.

We've just moved in around the corner from this place and went here for Sunday roast between unpacking boxes. And wow - great selection of beers, friendly staff and absolutely amazing food. I have a feeling this will become our regular haunt!

Had plans to eat elsewhere, but was totally seduced by 1000 trades. Empty early afternoon, but still atmospheric. Good beer selection (despite the ridiculous schooner affectation), and welcoming and knowledgeable staff. Food was brilliant and “fitted” the place perfectly. The events list shows a place that knows the city it lives in and tries to bring people joy. A possible future Birmingham could choose.

We were really excited to visit 1000 trades as we’ve read plenty of good reviews. On arrival there was no one to receive us and take us to a table. There was only one staff member behind the bar who advised we could just find a seat and order at the bar. We placed our order and found a table. The table was a little dirty and sticky, no salt and pepper on table. Our order arrived relatively quick, however no one came to check how the food was and we had to try and flag someone down as one of our orders was incorrect. The menu is also misleading, it says all large dishes are served with couscous on the side but that was not received. The staff member told us it only came with the rice or chips that are on the plate (so why does the menu say all plates come with couscous?! We were expecting this as an extra). The Zatar chicken was very tasty and crispy, and the chips were also good. The lamb koftas were very tasteless. The salad did not have any dressing. And the amount of bread provided with the dips too small for 3 dips and 2 people. Overall this experience left us disappointed and unlikely to return as the prices here are not cheap and the staff did not seem to care about customers.

Been here a number of times. Really good beer choices for the lads. The girls and I have enjoyed some really nice wines by the glass, carafe and bottle. We've yet to eat in but the menus from the various pop ups look great...

Absolutely stunning venue! We went for a leaving do and we couldn't have done it in a better venue. Food is great! The wine is to die for and the beer is amazing too. Thank you to the staff for everything.

This place is ABSOLUTELY FREEZING! Went yesterday on a really cold day and there was no heating! Worst place I’ve been to in a long time, I know there’s a cost of living crisis but this is totally unacceptable for customers! I was so uncomfortable, this is the worst pub I’ve been to comfort wise I did not enjoy my time here and don’t recommend it in winter especially to those who have any medical conditions that the cold may exacerbate. What’s worse is that I went upstairs to see the play and it was even colder! People were sitting in their coats, I had to put my gloves back on and my legs were shaking from the cold. The play itself was great but I did feel even worse for the poor actors who had far less clothes on than me. Again this was totally abysmal and unacceptable. Food service was SO SLOW I waited 30 plus minutes for burger and chips and wish I’d gone somewhere else before the play. Food wasn’t even piping hot after such a long wait. I was so cold that I got a cappuccino (tiny portion) and then wasn’t even provided with sugar that I had to ask for. Customer service is so poor especially for the prices. Tables are way too close to each other too so people and even their own waiters struggle to get past. Interior decor is cheap and devoid of character. Getting staff attention to ask about an order is virtually impossible. I won’t be returning!

Came here for their Sunday roast. The food was AMAZING. Just disappointed about their service. We didn't come at a busy time, but it was almost impossible to get a server's attention, and the food took more than a half hour to arrive. Can't fault them with their food however 👌 atmosphere was also very cosy.

Cosy little pub - very warm and welcoming. The food was delicious esp the starters. The menu changes every quarter i believe and this time it was pan-asia. Definitely recommend!

We called in for a drink this week and enjoyed a couple of pints. Friendly service, nice inside and a kitchen with rotating chefs and menus. They do hold music nights judging by the posters. Seating outside as well as in. I've only docked a star because the website menu doesn't include enough detail on their Sunday lunch options (my OH doesn't eat red meat). I did email to ask but waiting on a response. Will return and recommend you visit.

Lovely pub, great music, real ales, natural wines and knowledgeable, friendly staff. We went on a Tuesday night, still pleasantly busy. Canoodle cooking at the moment, excellent food and service. Particularly enjoyed the salt and pepper squid. A "small plate" but generous portions. Curry puffs, beef rendang and banh xeo also good. Will definitely return before this current guest chef finishes his stint in the kitchen.

A great selection of beers and the food is very good, my daughter ordered the posh hot sandwich and you need to bring a good appetite because the sandwich was HUGE.

Although there's seating out the front in the sun, the inside is lovely and cool on a baking day. Good selection of beers and excellent selection of wines and gins.

Friendly, helpful staff. Chilled vibe. Food was great and good portion size. Would love to go back and try more menu items.

Stopped off here as part of 'Treasure Hunt Birmingham' which took us up Frederick St. Absolutely my sort of vibe. Low lighting, cosy good draft and can beer selection and good natural wine list. The aroma of 'Trader Kitchen' at the back made me hungry. I will definitely be back to try some food soon. Host a ton of different nights here too, comedy etc. I visited early afternoon on a weekend and it was quiet. Usy but a nice vibe, I imagine it packs out later in the night.
