Bouncers were really friendly, the whole place is so much fun. Two rooms, one is a diner style where you can sit in booths and order food and cocktails and the other room is more of a rave room with a live DJ. Music was amazing, service was really fast and staff were friendly. Food was great! Would definitely go back.

We went out without the intention of going to Mama Roux's we were just looking for some food after Roller Jam. We ended up here and had a brilliant night. We had some food which was very tasty followed by a Burlesque show which was even better. It was free entry, reasonably priced food and drinks and a great atmosphere, what more could you want on a Thursday night!

Mama Roux's is definitely one of Digbeth's (hidden) gems, it never disappoints. Flowery backyard, delicious and instagrammable cocktails, the best DJs vibing all the disco music, bottomless brunch, gigs, comedy, raves.. Love it there.

A really fun club with loads of fun tunes! I got a bit too excited, fell over and hurt my elbow but Reena and Gail took incredible care of me and made me feel really safe. I am so grateful to them for looking after me

Could do with adding different music genres to the dj's repertoir as it just seemed to be all the same. Performances were good, but there were only a few and far in between. Drinks were expensive. Entry was free which is very good and security staff were Brill and reacted very quickly to any incidents in the club. There were a few places to sit down and chill which was great. Also there was a big car park nearby.

First time visiting this venue, we attended the Earthless gig, traveling from South Yorkshire. All staff were friendly, polite and we had great evening. Plenty of other bars close by too. We had hoped to have food there but unfortunately it wasn't available that evening, so check beforehand if traveling.

Never been here before was actually on the way to after dark and bumped into a random man who was waiting for his friends and he said we should check it out before heading to after dark. I am so glad we did because the atmosphere was amazing!. Friendly people lovely bar staff QUALITY music. Even the bouncers were nice which is shocking for Birmingham lol. Definitely will be back soon for a night out. I felt like it was 3 places in one so it can cater to alot of people in one place. The decor (which yes I notice when drunk) was also pretty . Definitely recommend

Bit of an unusual review but I have nothing but good things to say about the staff of this place and I didn't even go in! We'd been to a gig further up the street and had parked across the road in Trinity Street car park. When I got back to my car after the gig I couldn't find my keys. That's when Johnathon (door-staff at Mama Roux's?) came across and told me not only had he seen I left my key in the ignition, but my driver door wide open. He'd come over, closed the door and spent the last 2+ hours patrolling the street, keeping an eye on it until we got back. I know it sounds completely mad leaving the car that way - and I was obviously being super dozy, no excuses. But apparently we're not the only ones who've left cars in a stupid way after getting distracted by the car parking app/payment situation. Whatever the reason behind and however stupid I was to do it, this is my public big big thank you to Johnathon at Mama Roux. I cannot say enough how much I appreciate you looking out for us and making sure no one took advantage of my dozy streak that night.

Great little room for an up close and personal concert, no place to sit and a bit cramped but was a good venue. Bar was great with friendly staff and very quick service. Would recommend this place no problem.

Had the best time!!!! As Londoners and musicians, we wanted to try something creative in Birmingham and the Cabaret did not disappoint! Free entry, lovely bouncers, bar tenders and staff, brilliant performers, great drinks and just an incredible and safe atmosphere! Furthermore, when we messaged the staff on Instagram to enquire about food, we were told the kitchen was temporarily closed however they offered to get us food from another venue! Faultless service! We will definitely be back next time we are in Birmingham!

We had an emergency situation with one of our friends falling unconscious near Mama Roux and the bouncers were so quick to respond, compassionate, caring, kind. Gayle and Euan, they were absolutely phenomenal!! We hadnโ€™t been in their bar even and their duty of care was just 10/10. Could not fault this place or their staff. Just know that if you visit this place, you will be safe. Thank you for everything!

Cabaret night at Mama Roux was one to not forget! Positive vibes from the start and throughout the night. We were made to feel so welcome, the dancers and singers put an amazing performance on from the start and the whole experience was very entertaining. Not forgetting the ยฃ5 doubles because itโ€™s on a Thursday and unreal food to top it all off. Canโ€™t wait to go back!!

Such a fun place. Great music and good vibes. Shout out to the female bouncer (didnโ€™t get their name unfortunately) really looked after me and my friends even when my friend was sick and needed help. They took care of her and made sure that we had a fun time regardless. Unlike most places that would throw you out at any chance given. Canโ€™t wait to return :)

Holy flipping moly this place is great! It's like 3 nightclubs in 1. We did not experience that. Toilets could do with some updating,, I had to use my phone light in the ladies toilets - pitch black. Other than that the Saturday nights dirty discotheque is just something else. Entertainment is on par!!!!

Went to see Sipho (amazing up and coming local artist) at Mama Roux's. The venue was perfectly designed for intimate shows like this. The staff were very friendly and the astomsphere was chilled. The real star of the night (aside from Sipho and his band) was Mama Roux's sound system. Damn! The speakers and bass were amazing, we felt the vibrations through our body and it truly showcased the hell out of Sipho and the live band. The crowd was a mixture of people from different backgrounds and walks of live :) Can't rate the food as we didn't eat, but the drinks were standard. Service was a little slow, but that was a minor. Perfect venue to support your local artists. Would 100% come back and do recommend.

Had a good night out here, music was good and perfect volume levels. The only thing that wasn't good was the drink prices and the bar and toilets were too packed all night, could do with some larger toilet facilities then it would be a lot better ๐Ÿ‘.

We went to mamma roux last night and had an absolutely amazing night. The food was perfect, Iโ€™m a veggie and the veggie burger was 10/10. The drinks were great with a diverse menu. The venue was fab, we watched the burlesque which was very entertaining and then went to the main room for the evening. The DJ was absolutely perfect, great songs & great atmosphere. Would seriously seriously recommend , such a good club

I came here for my birthday and was entirely looked after by Klaudija and Karolina. The communication was phenomenal with quick email turnarounds and they were happy to allow us premade drinks orders and gave us a booth too. It made for a wonderful night. The Burlesque night was wonderful with a range of performers and performance styles. Would absolutely book again!

Had a fantastic night in Mama Roux last night. One particular member of staff made it extra special with his fabulous service. Made us feel extremely welcome and made us laugh countless times while serving us- his name was Alex . Would definitely recommend coming here for a good night.

Out with work colleagues, enjoyed our night here. A couple of different rooms playing at range of genre. Someone trying to sing on stage which I did not see the point of this as the music was so loud. A couple of stage artists dancing shooting glittery paper.

Went here on a night out in Birmingham, and following Mama Roux me and my group went to other venues. Pet me just say that Mama Roux was the highlight of the night and we honestly wish we never left. A great night as long as you can live with the amount of cocaine being consumed in the toilets and the state of them. Great music choice, nice setting and a generally all round good atmosphere. Drinks aren't ridiculously priced either, I'd say standard. If you've never been, I'd certainly recommend.

Little bit disappointed - the night we were there the discount/free drink option wasnโ€™t working, and even though we were promised it, it never happenedโ€ฆ The service was pretty slow, even on a quiet night. Understand that cocktail making takes time, but sometimes there was only one person on service so the line really built up. Otherwise a pretty fun night. Great having a live local band, and the pub style food was decent.
