Great pub, very cosy country style. Nice real ale and the food is great, very good value too. We stayed here and the room was perfect, best night's sleep for a long time. Ellie the cat is a character too, I love a pub cat. Highly recommended.

I was just looking for somewhere cheap and cheerful to stay when meeting up with friends but was pleasantly surprised by The Bull. The area outside doesn't look to inviting with construction etc. going on but once you get inside it's a different world. The room was clean and relatively fresh looking. Tea and coffee, en-suite, towels... all good! On street parking outside in a pretty quiet spot at the weekend and easily walkable into the city center. The pub was a proper traditional boozer a million miles away (not literally) from the chaos of Broad St! Great place!

What a find. I paid £45 for a one night stay that included breakfast. The pub has lots of history and is located in the historic Gun quarter of Birmingham. The pub maintains the character and feel of a historic building, yet offers modern facilities and a tasty, filling breakfast at a time, tailored to you. Superb line up of beers, too. I'd love to return!

Been going there for years with friends in a band, usually after a rehearsal at Robannas. It's now difficult to get to because of road closures due to the area becoming a cycle prioritised area. Tonight we decided to walk to get there. Unfortunately we were met by a somewhat grumpy bartender. The atmosphere was not a happy one and we were not made to feel welcome. Overall not a happy experience. Will be choosing the Gunmakers pub from now on. Shame.

Quirky, traditional pub with well priced food and drink. There's a resident cat too ❤️

We both had the same beer, mine was as it should be, a wonderful pint. My wife's was a bit stale and flatter not terrible but not at its best. We only compared towards the end but the difference was real. Why ?

Proper old boys pub with a nice atmosphere and decor. There's a very impressive collection of teapots hung about the bar. Great beer selection with 4/5 local ales. There's a very cute pub cat also and plenty of seating. Very nice owners as well, very accommodating.

Gem of a pub. Accommodation good value. The "wrong" side of the inner ring road but a short walk from the city centre. Food was excellent (beef chill recommended). Ellie the cat friendly.

Great pub lovely traditional feel. Bit quiet for a Friday night, but may get busier once the local flats start feeling up. Nice pint of gravediggers mild

A beautiful historic building with tons of character, traditional pub charm, great ales, resident pub cat, basic but comfortable rooms at an excellent price, very handy for Aston university.

Visited as part of the Birmingham Canals Pubs tour. This was the 1st stop on the list at 12pm and have to say, first local pub I've been to where there's been a queue waiting to get in on opening! Reminds me of the pubs I grew up around in Oldbury that were set deep in the terraced housing estates and populated by flatcap wearing local industry workers. Salt of the Earth folk. You just need to see the other photos posted on reviews for this pub to start to really appreciate the history and effort injected into the appearance and décor of this public house. The main bar area has lots of classic porcelain cups, jars and thimble collections near the rafters and you could spend ages just taking in the photos on the wall. Opted for a fruity ale and wow... Amazing. Probably one of my top 5 all time local pub visits as far as nostalgia and tasty beer is concerned. Would definitely recommend a visit!

Fabulous beer oasis in the middle of Birmingham. Top quality beer, accommodation and breakfast. You can't go wrong here. It's a must visit. Brilliant.

Lovely old pub around the back of the childrens hospital. It has some decent comfy bench style tables in the back room. Always suprised this kind of place isn't full. Probably survives off the day trade. We had some very clean pints. Will wander past again in the future.

Good beer, changed regularly. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Food and accommodation available although I've only had the food but it was good. Good background music for someone of my age 50+ ! Recommended.

Proper gem. Small but well kept selection of real ales. Food is very good, and owners are happy to facilitate group catering for over 20 in the back room.

Couldn’t find a room in Bham a few weeks ago and dropped onto this place . So glad I did . Cracking little old boozer in Brum’s old gun quarter . Oozing old charm character . The room was basic, but clean, comfortable and bathroom was clean and well maintained. Staff were friendly and the pub itself is great for cheap home cooked food and a good bar . Like pubs used to be . I’ll defo stay again. Thanks for the great experience .

A traditional, friendly, real ale pub. A place that wouldn’t be out of place in a small village in the countryside, serves as refreshing calming oasis in the busy centre of Birmingham. Food is simple, homecooked, and high quality. And the staff are all extremely friendly and welcoming to newcomers and regulars alike. Especially Ellie. (The Bull’s resident cat)

There is nothing to dislike about this pub (The Bull, Price St, B’ham) - Excellent ales, food, and fantastic staff & service. Totally recommended.

Great pub. Traditional boozer. Good selection of real ales. Food served too. Worth a visit

Popped in here for a cold one, they do a few craft ales and your standard house taps. Old school boozer, lovely bar staff but could do with a bit of a revamp.

Great traditional pub with good ales and food served by friendly staff. Nice atmosphere, good place to go when the rest of the city is crazy busy.

Not posh or luxury...just a cosy and friendly back street pub, with comfy en-suite rooms, good food, lovely real ales and crack at the bar. Lots of jugs and other items of pottery stuff. My fave place to stay when in Brum.

Genuinely a 4* pub, but in this world that's taken as meaning less than awesome, and thus place was fantastic. Googled for a pub nearby for food before a god. This place had 4.several stars so we came here. Upon arrival, got a little concerned - not the best area, and pub looked like the 'uninviting local' kind. Couldn't be further from it. Super chill atmosphere, friendly staff, good old-timey early rock-n-roll on on the background. Solid selection of beer, delicious food,,, very happy, well deserving of the rating.

Had a fantastic meal and a great time in this place . Extremely friendly and had a laugh and joke with Staff and patrons alike . Will be going back a number of times during my 3 and a half week stay. The girl working front of house was a joy ( wished I got name ) . A excellent credit to this establishment, always keeping you informed and very apologetic when thing's went slightly wrong could teach a lot of front of house staff how it should be done , worth her weight in gold . I salute you x Driver for Commonwealth games ( Buses)

Stayed in one of the rooms. Great value for money, clean and in good condition. For a city centre location on a Saturday night this is a bargain. Pub downstairs is a traditional almost village type of gaff. Landlord Nige brilliant with us all stay. Would not hesitate to book again.
