Visited the Prince of Wales acouple of weeks ago and was amazed at the refurbishment. It looked lovely. The pub has lots of very fond memories for us. Glad it's back up and running. Will go again soon

used to be a great pub but the new barmaid/female manager is really rude. Popped in a few times so not a one-off. just the death glare when you have the absolute nerve to dare to go to the bar and order a drink, and heaven forbid if you ask a question. Shame.

Nice beers in a friendly, traditional local. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Tasty pork pies and sausage rolls, but the cobs were a letdown - sod all filling for 3 quid.

My friend described it as an 'early Wetherspoons' for those old enough to remember what that brand was like in the early days. Warm, simply but well decorated with tables and chairs set out for people to sit and chat. Most of all, an adequate and well-kept range of real ales, the majority from the Black Country Ales stable. There is no harm in that. A place I will be visiting again on my next visit to Brum.

A great little pub with a wide range of real (cask) ales. We've been there before and we shall go again. Sometimes it does get ram packed depending on what's on at the REP etc. Keep up the good service 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

An excellent Black Country Ales pub. Wide selection of well kept ales. BFG on form! Good clean toilets. Friendly staff, good prices

shameful that you get questioned as to why you walked in the pub. Followed to the toilets, spied on by the staff in the toilet and then rudely shouted at by a female behind the bar as we left. The female manager needs to learn to speak to people correctly and not assume the worst of people. Very hostile attitude from the staff. Disgusting assumptions made. Rude and not a friendly atmosphere at all

So glad this pub reopened, it's a great place to go for a pre gig drink if you're attending Symphony Hall or Utilita arena arena. Good selection of ales and really relaxed atmosphere too mix with other gig goers. Would recommend.

Called in by chance for a drink and found a traditional pub tucked away from the hustle and bustle. Relaxing and good choice of cask beers. Lovely shiny bar. Welcoming staff

A nice traditional pub , good selection of drinks Good old fashioned cobs and pork scratching amongst other snacks available, very impressed with the board game selection, we sat by the nice open fire, also pet friendly with a great environment! Will definitely be returning a hidden gem !

Travelled to Birmingham via our canal boat, I am 28 years old and my partner is 24 however I was not asked for ID but she was? She also had learning difficulties that makes her age seem hard to tell. I feel like she’s been targeted because she’s got learning difficulties and I now feel like I’m being looked at as a peado. It’s very clear that she is not my daughter and I feel ashamed that people make the assumption I’m with a child, it’s rude and I will be making a formal complaint.

What a gem of a pub in town. No frills or fancies but good choice of real ales, proper pub cobs on offer and great staff. It's a pub offering the good old fashioned feel but well kept and friendly. Who'd have thought it near to Broad Street.

Fabulous pub. Great beers and ciders. Impressed that my daughter was asked for ID as she looked under 25. Will definitely be back for more fabulous cider and traditional ale.

Lovely proper boozer + a hidden gem amongst the hustle + bustle of Birmingham city centre. If you like your real ales, then pop in for a couple or 3. Cobs/crisps/nuts + the odd pork pie if you're lucky 😋 #camra #camrapub #blackcountryales Just off Broad st so main bus + metro routes. A few mins up from New St/Moor St + Snow hill stations Around the side of ICC/ Birmingham Rep theatre + Birmingham library😁 Jo + her team will always be pleased to see ya.

Visited this lovely pub with some girlfriends after a night out in the city centre. A refreshing change, quiet and welcoming. Somewhere to chat and catch up without screaming at each other over very loud music!!

Brilliant traditional boozer just a short stagger from farmer's bridge top lock, around the back of the ICC and library. A credit to black country brewery in its restoration. Good selection of Cobs and beer not just BBC brewery served by lovely staff

Recently refurbished. Good selection of real ales. The only food is rolls, sausage rolls etc (snack food). A proper pub :)

Friendly staff and good beer at reasonable prices. Nice typical Black Country Ales interior. Quiet on a weekday afternoon.

Good place for ale drinkers as lots of casks to choose from. Has the usual drinks too. Never saw a food menu but I know they serve sandwiches at least.

Lovely old fashioned pub. We were made to feel very welcome. Hubby liked the real ales. We were told it's been refurbished throughout, it had a freshness about it and is spotlessly clean, including the loos, which is a big plus for me. Will definitely be back.
