I
popped
into
the
Pear
Tree
pub,
on
the
Alcester
Road,
Kings
Heath,
Birmingham,
a
few
days
ago
for
a
drink
and
some
lunch.
I
must
say,
it
is
quite
sad
in
a
way,
that
this
place
will
be
closing
down
fairly
soon.
For
the
past
twenty
years
or
so,
this
pub
has
served
the
community
well.
Although,
not
a
regular
patron
myself,
I
have
always
found
it
to
be
bustling
and
lively
whenever
I
have
gone
in.
When
I
went
in
for
lunch
the
other
day,
I
had
the
vegan
Mangalorean
roasted
cauliflower
and
spinach
curry
with
a
garlic
nan
bread
and
two
poppadoms.
With
a
pint
of
Guinness
as
well,
this
came
to
just
ยฃ8.80.
Good
value
for
money.
The
food
was
excellent,
and
the
customer
service
provided
was
second
to
none.
Full
marks
to
the
young
guy
who
served
me
at
the
bar,
and
also
to
the
guy
who
brought
my
food
to
my
table.
They
are
very
efficient
and
professional.
Great
shame
this
pub
will
soon
be
gone,
but
I
suppose
nothing
stays
the
same
for
ever.
