Very traditional English pub next to Millennium Point. It is small, but full of character.

Lovely old traditional pub, excellent choice of real ales and food is top notch and good value. Hs2 works all around but still accessible. Don't let it put you off.

Nipped in the Woodman before watching the not so mighty Ipswich play Birmingham City. Intended on just having one before moving on but stayed here for 2 hours! Excellent choice of ales, very well priced and very well kept! It won't be the last time I frequent this place :)

Nice old style pub, historic in the midst of new developments, cheap for the area. Sells real ales, had 4 on when I visited from 4 different breweries. Does food which is reasonably priced. Beer was in good condition when I visited (late Tuesday afternoon) They also do box cider, mainly Lilley's, 3 on tap when I visited. On kegbthere is freedom lager, Carlsberg, Krombasher pils, Hogans cider, Kingstone press wild berry, Purity session ipa, Erdinger and Guinness. All in all a recommended visit if you are in Birmingham especially if you like real ales or ciders

Traditional tiled pub with a very good range of craft beer and real ale. Has a student bar feel to it, I didn’t eat there but I saw a couple eating and the portions were large for low prices. Only thing that let it down was when we visited on a Saturday early evening there were only 5 or so people in the pub and there was loud music playing so it had a strange atmosphere.

Visited after going to the Think Tank as literally opposite. Like stepping back in time! Lovely traditional pub, friendly staff, and decent food at cheap prices. Husband had the brisket which he said one of best he'd had (he used to be a chef, so praise indeed!) well worth a visit.

Usual high standards, great selection of ales and ciders. Had the braised beef and chips, which was not only delicious but very reasonably priced.

Landmark pub with a great selection of ales. Enamel tile interior. It deserves to survive HS2 construction.

A much needed addition to the Millennium point area. Prior to The Woodman being open, there wasn't really any (nice) pubs nearby, you'd have to head to Digbeth or back into the central city area. Where this pub excels is it's ales. Great selection on tap which changes regularly. I'm told the food is pretty decent, though I'm yet to try. I've had many a pint in their beer "garden", the pub is surrounded by Eastside City Park so you can stand outside, in the sun and not have cars going by a people rushing past with things to do. It's a nice chilled atmosphere. Especially when the fountains are on. There is seating too which is great. It works as a nice pitstop on your way to Digbeth or a watering hole pre/post-event at Millennium Point or BCU's Parkside campus or on a sunny day when you head to the park and fancy a refreshing beer.
