The decor of this pub was lovely, you can see that they have just had a refurbishment to a high standard. However, I really didn't enjoy the food. I ordered egg fried rice, which was not tasty and was yellow for some strange reason. I think they may have put curry powder in it. The mix grill was quite disappointing and so was the chicken tika. I can't describe it, but the food just tasted wierd. The cheese and garlic naan was lovely though. I did make a complaint and the mix grill was refunded. The pub was quite busy and I thought the customer service was very good. All the staff were friendly. Unfortunately it just didn't satisfy my taste buds.

Book to avoid disappointment! nice food, very onion heavy. Had the vegetarian mixed grill, with no soya. Mint sauce looks radioactive. Very reasonably priced. Still good social distancing inside. Friendly staff. Will be back.

Possibly the biggest mixed grill I have ever had. We arrived at 9pm (which is a bit late) with last food orders advertised as being taken until 9.30. We were rushed to order and you could tell the staff were a bit annoyed with us. The food came out in record time though. Everything was really nice. I will definitely come again, but will try and arrive a bit earlier

The venue is very clean and inviting. However the room was very hot and we had to ask for a move . The food was excellent and well presented. There are a lot of staff which is a sign how busy they are , also very friendly and helpful .

The food was good. It would better go for the naan breads with the curry πŸ› Briyani is hot in a ceramic container. It's harder to cook these in a short time. I liked the venue, which has book shelves and local bar within. I liked the onion fried rice 🍚 with the naan and okra options.

Iv given this place a chance a few times now, and unfortunately I have been left dehydrated and underwhelmed. First time back in 2018 ok fair enough this was some time back, I was sick 🀒 literally. At the time I did say something wasn't quite right with the red chicken. Though did taste ok. So managed to go again in September 2022, my friend would only go to this place for a mix grill. So took the bullet and suffered again dehydration that day was so bad. Too much salt πŸ§‚. Food did taste good. But the suffering afterwards was not great on both of us. Again December, come again out of convenience as we didn't have the car and this was the closest place to grab a mix grill by foot and a push pram. Disappointed again the food was actually not even tasty this time it was dry. My brother always trying to get us to go there and tries to drag us all there. He's still a believer.

This pub is well done out, looks clean and tidy with a nice ambience. Really good selection of beer. The owners and staff were fantastic, the best customer service I've ever experienced in a desi place by far. The fact that they were so, so lovely makes this next part very difficult to write, but I have to be honest. I personally found the food, particularly the mixed grill, to be quite average. It's a massive mixi and it looks the part, but the majority of it was quite bland to my taste. The curry we had was quite nice. Had my star rating been based solely on food, I would've had to give a 3 at the very best. Everyone has different palates and this place is very popular so maybe it's just me!

Had such a lovely time here it was our first time here and won't be the last. The food was all cooked fresh and was hot when served to our table. The portion sizes are very big wow. The staff are so nice too and such a friendly place to go. Have to say that they are so good with the covid side of things too. You scan to order food and they come over and take payment. The food is so tasty I am really impressed with this place.

After seeing this pub on a TV programme I watched recently, I had to give it go! The food was delicious, the three of us shared the red lion special mixed grill and a few extra sides to share. Came to Β£50, which at first seems pricey, but the quantity of food we received was mind blowing! We even took enough food home for an extra 2 meals! We went on a Saturday night, around 7pm it was quite busy! The wait stuff were a bit rushed off their feet, the mobile ordering app didn't want to function properly, but the waiter did eventually come over and take our order. Some things were spicy! So if spice isn't your thing definitely mention it! I'd happily return! Thank you for a delightful meal out.

Large mixed grill, very good! Only minus points on the prawns as the batter wasn't the best. Everything else spot on, only minus point on service is because the waiter took some plates before some of our party had finished. Very minor issues, otherwise a fantastic evening of food

Awesome Punjabi pub, spacious with delicious food. First time trying their food after hearing so much about it and we wasn’t disappointed. Their mix grill was nice, what stood out where the chilli chips and the butter chicken.. literally top tier food, i for one loved it and look forward to heading back soon. The service was good, the atmosphere was pleasant.. avoid going on game days.. however it is a family oriented place during my visit.

Nice big clean place, to order your food you can use QR app code fixed on the table. Once you have order your food some one will come and confirm your order and take your money. Nice atmosphere, tea and coffee also available. You can see the food being prepared in the kitchen. Private booths are available. There is separate bar area where you can just have drinks.

The Red Lion is another top desi pub where the food is top notch and the beers are fantastic as they have Butty Bach on draught. We sat in the outside courtyard where we enjoyed blue skies and fresh air until the temperature dropped and the expensive canopy was closed for our comfort. This is a very busy establishment so booking is advisable.

Great food and service but the nan was a bit dry and the grill items were good. The curry portions were a bit smaller than expected.

Visit the Red Lion regularly on our travels to West Bromwich. On this particular visit the service was below par. We were one of the first to arrive at the restaurant and somehow ended up getting our order after the others that arrived. What is really frustrating is that one items was not available on the menu and not even a small gesture was made to compensate for the unavailable item. Overall I don’t to deter anyone from visiting this establishment as the food is good.

South Africa were playing Bangladesh in the cricket World Cup, it offered a great backdrop to the lunch. The mixed grill lived up-to its top tier billing, the prawns were standout stunning. I felt the mixed grill was perhaps too chicken dominated, definitely scope for some more meat diversity. The luminosity of the mint sauce activated a need for mathematical and scientific research within me. Here is a short synopsis of my googled findings. In order to calculate luminosity, the mathematical constant "pi" (3.14) is used. The distance of the object from Earth in square meters is multiplied by the object's brightness in watts per square meters. That is then multiplied by 3.14 and then again by 4 to calculate luminosity. Overall the food and atmosphere was 5 stars and I thoroughly enjoyed the lunch. My only tip for improvement is for the venue to clearly define whether it is a pub or a restaurant. The ordering process wasn’t implicit. I am looking forward to my next visit.

Visited a couple of weeks ago. We ordered the largest mixed grill on the menu as there was quite a few of us. It looked amazing when it arrived but after eating away the top of the 'pyramid' I was disappointed to find that the grill was mainly chicken pieces. The fee lamb chops and prawns that were there were very nice but I'm my opinion this was just too much chicken, would have been nice too have it 'mixed' up a bit more. The only mains I tried were the butter chicken and lamb saag, both of which were really nice, correct flavours and spice. Service was lacking from a few of the waiters( non drinking party so maybe we weren't priority 🀷🏽) over all a nice place/nice hosts and nothing wrong with the food just lacking in variety and service

Wicked pub for Indian food with the family. My kids are well occupied in the back rooms with a well stocked library. I tried the madras which was delicious and I now go back regularly for. Naans are perfect and chilly chips are very good too. Butter chicken is also a family favourite here. I have only given the service a 4 star rating as the chairs are very dangerous, especially for young children as they easily tip forward and are a serious risk if you're not watching the kids all the time - a shame as everything else about this place is awesome. The fitout is excellent and it has a retractable roof over a large conservatory setting in the back with plenty of screens to watch live sport. Parking is good with plenty of space and it's easy to get to.

Friends ordered the mixed grill which was insane but really good quality and flavour. I had the chicken 65 and the lamb chops, both of which were excellent. Will be back soon for an actual curry - totally worth a long drive!

The Red Lion - West Brom Being a huge Wolves fan i wasnt expecting much from anywhere from within the West Brom area so its safe to say my expectations were low from the moment the establishment was chosen but i must say i was pleasantly surprised. On arrival we were welcomed pleasantly and shown to the bar where other friends were already sat waiting. A huge selection of draught and bottle beers to choose from. A tad pricey though. We moved into the restaurant where 9 of us were seated. This was a bit of a squeeze for the side that had 5 members dining. Maybe a small table could of been added to the end to accommodate. There was a little bit of teething problems with ordering through the qr codes. Some phones wouldnt work however this was quickly resolved and we had a lovely pleasant waitress who took our order. Even the one diners order who kept changing his mind she kept a smile on her face. Being a veteran to tikka night i now know to order more for the doggy bag to make fellow work colleagues jealous the next day. (One comment being - you coulda brought me some) Large mixed grill - a massive selection of meats to pick from. I knew id have plenty for my meal and also to take back with me. The chicken tikka was spot on. Just the right amount of spices marinated inside. The sheesh kebab did have a kick to them so if your not into spices then stay away from these. What can i say about the chicken wings? Well these are hands down the best chicken wings iv ever had. Cannot fault them one bit Cheese and garlic naan - a little bit overpowering on the garlic but as they say more is better. Great cheese pull. Slightly disappointed in the grease at the bottom of the basket but we can live with that Massala sauce - that is the best massala sauce iv ever tasted. That will take some serious beating. Nothing else needs to be mentioned about this. Masala chips - nothing to shout about really just your average chip with massala spices added. Nice to have a proper chip though and not fries Overall a very pleasant outing and would fully recommend. Would definitely return. 8.5/10

Besides not being able to use the app to order food the experience was perfect! The decor, ambience, staff and food were all faultless. In fact the clay pot chicken was THE NICEST CURRY I've ever had from anywhere!

Food is amazing. But take away service is absolutely terrible. Spent around Β£200 on food and drinks inside and ordered a takeaway while finishing off out mains. 30 mins later no sign of takeaway even tho payment taken instantly in person. Went to check and they hadnt even started on the takeaway because they thought it was a dine in order even tho it clearly stated takeaway. Should have gone red cow, no sorry or anything!!!

Absolutely beautiful food however a table of 8 booked for 7.30, order was placed shortly after and the food didn't arrive until 8.45. So prepare for a wait at busy times.
