So I came to Birmingham the heat was till it's brim and I was desperate for a pint. Went rooming around the bull ring and came to "The bull ring tavern", was pretty much excited to have one. So got in and in front of the counter and no one appeared, stood for 5 min and the bar attender was sitting right behind me and chatting with her friends 🤦🏽‍♂️, finally after 3 Min she gave me a pint and was famished. Later went to get another and was send back to the table were they said they would come waited for another 10min and literally had to show a signal to get another 🤦🏽‍♂️ that's not what I want and I didn't feel it friendly. Looking into the other side they have a huge screen and the ambient is great.

I used to frequent this pub from the mid 1980's to late '90's. Only a small pub, but it is cosy. The beer is good and football on the large screens.

Went to go in for a quiet pint...had 1/5 of coca cola left as I walked in ...was just about to chuck it in bin and order..when an proper horrible looking man immediately approached me asking me to leave pushing me out the door using his massive belly to usher me out saying not today...Without an explanation. Felt like plain bully tactics and frankly never felt so insulted by a complete stranger in my life.no uniform. No indication he even worked there..he even threw his used chewing gum into my open bag I mean what a welcome to Birmingham city centre.must be just angry, sad fat n ugly.not my fault

What an amazing group of people who drink here. A quick drink on our way back to the hotel ended up being a great night with the locals. My husband sang on the karaoke with one of the girls, another bought a load of jägers when she found out it was my birthday, and Tommy put his well known hat on my husband. Gutted we went outside for some fresh air and the drunkeness hit us so we just headed back to the hotel without saying our goodbyes to the Brummies who showed us 2 scousers a great welcoming night!

Lovely people, unexpected surprised by karaoke night, Frank was a real sport and made us feel like we belong to the place, although we were tourists :)

I love craft union pubs. Music was on, drinks were cheap. Decor was a little dated and one of the screens was broken. Staff were nice and turned tv over to rugby for me when I asked. Great wee place to visit

Was in another pub and asked the barman for the dodgiest bar in Birmingham, and he said the Bullring Tavern without hesitation. Skulled my pint and made a b line for the bull ring tavern. Plenty geysers in here singing karaoke and having a bit of craic. Wouldn't want to look at them the wrong way for fear they'd go mad but twas exactly what I was looking for. Cheap pints of beer and plenty entertainment. Will be back again.

A nice atmosphere and ambience. A limited selection of beers, though they did have a nice range of cocktails. Will have to visit again.

Ideally situated between the train station and the bus station so you can wait for a connection in style. Very reasonable prices and Steph was great working the bar and giving directions to travellers.

Popped in here for a couple pints while waiting to get into our hotel. The place was really busy at 1pm on a Tuesday. The beer was good and cold and well priced.

Great local pub with a good vibe, very old school. Not somewhere to go if you fancy any airs and graces, just down to earth locals.

Traditional inner city pub. Bit dated in places but more than made up by helpful bar staff and friendly locals. Great prices too

It's a traditional pub in the heart of Birmingham, besides the oldfashioned atmosphere, the draft beer is considerably cheap and there're excited people, karaoke and gambling.

Old style inner city boozer. Plain interior, with several big screens for music or sport. Typical range of keg beers and lagers. Fine for a quick one near Market and Moor St station.

One of the best bars in brum a great stop to sink a few pints on the way to st andrews. For an average beer its about £3.20 which is great for the area. Only small issue here is the toilets.

Warm place, clean all through. Was packed so really needed more staff working behind the bar. But on the plus side Manchester United won the Derby xx

I went to this pub for a drink. I thought I will drink and come out early but the moment I went inside, I received good gesture from people. I really enjoyed my time there and I stayed for a long time. I Had 4 double shots of Jack Daniels. Someone was having birthday and all were singing and dancing.

Grand spot for a beer after shopping. Massive tv that shows all types of sports. Got lost in the snooker while having an ale. Music is loud and seems to be revolving door of people coming and going. The less said about the toilet facilities the better hence the low rating.

It is what it is, great for sport, a big drinkers pub, but friendly staff and customers

  • 1/5 Robert S. 3 years ago on Google
This place is rank. I bought a pint; they refused to give my girlfriend a tapwater even though I'm fairly sure that's illegal. Then sat next to some guys exposing the virtues of 'Wolverhampton slags' to the whole pub for literally the whole time I was there. Unless you miss a train from Moor street and have absolutely nowhere else to go, I suggest you avoid.
