Dec 23 Absolutely knock out service, couldn't fault a thing. Perfect attention to detail. Taster menu sublime, especially the rabbit and rum baba courses. A wonderful couple of hours, totally chilled, the perfect treat to mark the end of the working year. Thank you! (Dec pics and menu from image 11 onwards) Sept 23 4.5/5. Dined here last evening for birthday/anniversary celebration. Second visit in four months. The tasting menu was varied and interesting, see pic. They accommodated my OH who doesn't eat red meat or chocolate. I've only docked 1/2 point as both dishes for one course were served tepid (lemon sole/lamb) the lamb was also chewy. (I offered this feedback and was offered another dish which I declined). I'm also not a fan of unisex toilets. The service synchronisation was a little hit and miss such that the spacing between courses was inconsistent. Our aperitifs were slow to arrive which then cut into the wine time. All this does not detract from a lovely evening. But often its the attention to detail which makes the difference, especially for a high priced evening. Will definitely return however. Thank you for the greetings cards on the table.

Adam's is one of the best fine dining restaurants in Birmingham! From the moment you walk in and greeted by a kind member of staff, until you walk out everything is absolutely perfect! The tasting menu is delicious with all kinds of different punchy flavours and ingredients! The champagne is amazing and the sommelier presented it to us and explained the main notes and where it came from! The service is absolutely perfect, everyone is very knowledgeable, smiling and always ready to assist with anything! I was celebrating my birthday and almost every single member of staff made sure to wish me happy birthday. Got a card and a candle with the petits fours. Everyone pays attention to even the smallest detail which contributes to an amazing experience! The little gifts we received after our meal were a nice touch too! Definitely recommend Adam's to everyone who is a fan of fine dining! Well done to all the chefs and the front of house members!

Had a fantastic lunch here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. As we were lunching we went for the seven course tasting menu and a carafe of white wine and a glass of red rather than having the wine pairing. Each of the courses, and indeed the snacks, were delicious. Real standouts were the quail and the pumpkin custard dessert. Each dish was a brilliant mix of textures and flavours and beautifully presented. Service was great and we even got a little bottle of syrup each to make calted caramel coffees. Another fantastic experience at Adam's and hopefully one we'll be able to enjoy again.

I have visited Adam's twice and I was very impressed, especially during the second visit. The tasting menu was very well-designed, and the food had great flavour combination and balance. Ambiance was good and the service was excellent. In fact, I find Adam's to be better than some of the two-Michelin star restaurants that I have been to! I highly recommend Adam's and I fully intend to return in the future.

If you spend this kind of money you would expect to leave a restaurant full, satisfied and wowed. We left hungry, confused and I suppose full of laughter from what we experienced. Maybe we aren't used to this kind of dining but it overall was not a good experience. The food was pretentious and not up to standard. Presentation was great but you need to combine that with a really satisfying result.

It’s hard to find the right words to describe how fantastic Adams was. It must be one of the most elegant & stylish looking restaurants I’ve been to. The food is cooked to a very high standard. Every dish was unique & creative. Then the amazing staff really enhances an already fantastic experience. This is a destination restaurant and is a must visit for food lovers.

We visited Adam's yesterday evening and can I start by saying I am their biggest fan and have been many times before and firmly believed it to be one of the best restaurants in the world. Not any longer unfortunately, it now seems that they are catering for the Instagram crowd by creating themes and dishes that look good in photos with less emphasis on creativity and taste. On our tasting menu for example we were served celeriac three times with the same sauce three times, not creative and very boring it looked good on the plate though. The service was erratic, sometimes rushed and sometimes too slow and I had to sit with my coat on as it was chilly inside. Our visit last night was the worse we've experienced at Adam's and felt as though we had been 'done over' having to pay £350 for average food that looks good on Instagram. What a shame.

It was a fantastic experience sitting at the Chef's table. All dishes served were excellent and flavourful and I'd recommend coming here for a treat. If you plan to also book the Chef's table, do so well in advance as reservations go quickly (the table seats 12 people in total). I was on crutches when I attended, but they made it as easy as possible for me to get around, and were kind enough to give me a stool to rest my leg, without me even asking for it. This was my first experience dining at a Chef's table and it was great to see the chefs and the kitchen at work. It's brilliant how they stayed calm and organised with all the orders coming through. It's clear the head chef, Kieron, has built a great team around him and it was interesting to observe the guidance he was giving his younger chefs throughout the evening. To add to the experience of the Chef's table, each chef presented their dish as it was served. It was clear some of them would rather their food do the talking as they were a bit shy. But they shouldn't be, as its obvious from their dishes, they're talented chefs. All the dishes were fantastic, and looked like pieces of art. They were all seasoned well and I truly couldn't find a fault with any of them. We chose to go for the wine pairing with the meal and each wine was perfectly paired with the dishes. While it's a pricey meal, the quality of the food and the service offered made it all worthwhile if you enjoy fine dining experiences. I'll look forward to attending again as I'm aware their menu is seasonal and I'm sure it will wow me next time I come here.

Exceptional flavours and presentation - I enjoyed Adam's immensely. Not too expensive considering the quality of the food and wine selection, and the service is first class. Nice bar too - definitely worth getting there a little early and grabbing a gin and tonic!

We had the 5 course lunch menu and it was a real treat. Each one had so much flavour. There is a 3 course option but the meals aren’t huge so that might leave you a little hungry.

I think Adam’s is a great place for a special occasion where you want a ‘high-end’ experience. The staff are very professional and knowledgable and really add to the experience - the food is beautifully presented and you also get some snacks before the meals and to take away after. The tasting menu itself was really good however I do think it’s fairly similar to other places I’ve been to which offer a similar menu style. As mentioned, I think the experience itself is 100% worth the price and I would definitely recommend it

Fantastic experience. Had the 7 course tasting menu with the accompanying wine. Staff were extremely professional and showed good depth of knowledge of both the food and wine.

Top notch food, top notch service, top notch place. (Only thing I didn’t quite get was the marmalade with fish but it’s probably just me and my tastebuds.)

From start to finish, we were blown away. By the end of the night, and the end of our 7 courses (plus all the extras they give you) we could not decide on our favourite. Every single thing we ate was gorgeous! We were encouraged to get more bread to mop up the sauces, which was great as there is no egos or pretentiousness, which you do get from some high end places. Service could not have been better, with the courses well paced and well portioned, and attentive staff who didn’t intrude unnecessarily. The cocktails were probably the only let down of the night, being okay, but nothing special. It is so far beyond worth the price, and as the menu changes so often, it is fair to say we will be back. It is definitely a place for a special occasion, and makes for a very enjoyable evening (we were there just over 3 hours) It is a place I will not forget, a few courses will probably stay with me forever, being some of the best food I’ve eaten.

Overall great experience. But my problem with Fine dining will always be the portion size. Unfortunately it's too little but everything that was served was delish.

You definitely won’t leave Adam’s in Birmingham hungry. The 7-course taster menu was £115 and the a la carte, 3 course menu was priced at £85. We chose the a la carte menu because I preferred the dessert options and, knowing that if we each chose something different we would get to taste 6 different dishes… BUT we got a lot more than 6 dishes. Before we even got our starters we received 3 surprises from the kitchen and a substantial bread dish. The delicious sourdough bread came with an in-house butter and whipped pork fat. Both were gorgeous but I did tell my husband that I think the pork fat would have been more tasty if I ate it first and was then asked to guess what it was…I’m getting a little squeamish in my old age! Prior to dessert we got a pre-dessert dish and after dessert we got a crunchy biscuit post-dessert dish filled with a beer cream and a present to take home. The food was excellent. The ambience was top class. Personally, I prefer Adam’s ambience to that of Purnell’s, and marginally more than I did Carter’s. However, I thought the staff could be more ethnically diverse, no black or brown folk, but if you looked around the clientele were diverse so they should perhaps reflect on that. Although the al la carte menu was almost twice the price of Purnell’s I considered it to still be great value for money because of all the extras. They did push the alcohol a little harder as I think that’s where the profits lie but we don’t really drink and are just there for the food so…we just had sparkling water. Overall, a great experience. They could get 2 Michelin stars in the future because the attention to detail is massive, loads of ingredients and loads of tiny detail to the food. WHAT MY HUSBAND THOUGHT: The decor was lovely and the staff attentive and polite. The waitress we were served by was from Slovakia and the waiter was Italian. We were offered alcohol numerous times and although non-drinkers could see the impressive wine list and flights to accompany the tasting menu. I thought I might get full on the gifts from the kitchen before the starters arrived, including the bread, but that wasn’t the case even though the portions were a reasonable size. In all, I’d recommend Adam’s for any type of special occasion or even a lazy business lunch. #MichelinMemories #michelinstar #mystorywithmichelin #foodies #finedining #MICHELINrestaurants #restaurants #gastronomy #foodies #foodiegram #instafood @michelinguide #restaurantadams @restaurantadams

First time visiting and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. I ordered the tasting menu, the food was not the best in my opinion, a lot of the dishes were very salty and raw. I loved the dessert, overall will rate them a 6/10.

We had a lovely meal at Adams. As soon as we entered the quality of service shone and we were made to feel welcome and comfortable. That high level of formal, but relaxed service continued throughout. We threw in a couple of last minute dietary requirements and it was no issue. The food was of a high standard and thoroughly enjoyed by the whole table. I have to say though, for me the front of house staff really made the evening.

A truly great dining experience. A chefs table to die for. Adam’s restaurant was genuinely a great experience. The food was outstanding. The paired wines were even better. If you love your food then this would be a great recommendation. For me this was a great way to celebrate the wife’s birthday.

Probably the best restaurant in Birmingham. We were amazed by the creativity and the combination of flavour that we have never experienced before. Great service and the time between each courses were very well controlled. We loved all the extra details. If you have £200 to spare, please pay them a visit, you will not regret.

Everything was incredible amazing in this restaurant!!! The extraordinary tasteful food the very friendly staff the restaurant itself but for me the service was what it made it so special! I chose the 3 courses dinner but I got 8 I think !!!! The rest were complimentary bites from the restaurant!!! Great list of wines and drinks ! And I had a surprise when I told them that it was my gift for my birthday..they gave me a great birthday card and a gift to take home with chocolate and a cordial !!!! They really made my evening a very special one ! I have to say that the prices were very very reasonable for a Michelin star restaurant!!!! This restaurant is value for money !!! I will go again and again !!! Thanks for the great experience!!!

Each disc was made up of complimentary flavours with significant complexity. The amount of work that must of gone into each must be massive. We started with a terrific Scallop dish which had a lime element to it. This was followed by maitake mushrooms with a parmesan twist.

The food was very nice but not the best. The best part was the eel course, particularly the teriyaki tempura eel since the flavour and texture was wonderful. The amuse-bouche was also particularly delicious. The dessert was great, but a bit too much after the main course. The main courses were actually a bit disappointing. The waitstaff were fantastic.

Lovely contemporary restaurant. Had the tasting menu and it was amazing. Each dish looked fantastic and pleasantly surprised me in their flavors. The service was great as well, I felt very welcome and attended to. If you are in Birmingham and want fine dining, I highly recommend the place.

The food was very nice but not particularly memorable. The best dishes were the eel course, the bread and butter and the amuse-bouche. The dessert was fantastic but I couldn't finish it due to being too full. The service was great and I appreciated the Covid precautions. This restaurant could do with an update in regards to interior decoration since it feels a bit dated.

This was our first meal out with our, then, 5 month old baby. We were so well looked after by the staff - even though we were running a little late, the staff were gracious and kind and made us feel very welcome. The food was delicious, the meat was so tender and the decor was superb. What a fantastic meal out after ages. Thank you to the team at Adam’s for being so wonderful

Some people like an afternoon at Old Trafford. Or perhaps Edgbaston for the same money. I suggest you immediately consider being drowned in flavour and innovation at Adam's. I'm watching a particularly precise construction at the pass when a creamy pink sauce is poured before "service please" I'd called. I sat at the Chef's table last Friday and was the only vegetarian option of 8 for the tasting menu. It was sublime and I highly recommend the experience of both menus. Their venison, their skate and certainly their satisfaction makes me want to return. The details of the meal I had have been captured elsewhere as I took copious notes while being entertained. I recommend you do what you can and enjoy James Goodyear and his staff and his kitchen asap. Huge thank you to Kim, as well, who guided me enough to not make me feel as though I was ever at risk of being lost or forgotten.

We had the 9 course tasting menu. Some of us tried out the wine pairings - and there were a choice of 2 flights. Those who tried the more expensive pairing weren't as impressed with the choices. The food was - as always - delicious. Couldn't fault a single dish. The staff are good at asking about allergies and working around them.

  • 3/5 Ru F. 11 months ago on Google
Pleasant atmosphere, good service overall, but slightly underwhelmed by the food, which although flavoursome lacked the wow factor. The portion sizes are small - a teaspoon of mash was served with well cooked halibut, the lamb was good but again the portion was stingy. The desserts were not impressive - the sticky toffee soufflé was eggy and the dulce chocolate was nothing to write home about. In summary it was all a little too pretentious and overpriced.

The old pop up, which I had the fortune to visit twice, was small and always felt temporary. This place feels like home. The bar area is gorgeous, full of light and reflection with very attractive lights hanging. The 2 pre-dinner drinks we had were winners, the negroni was probably the best incarnation I've had and Em's amaretto & champagne fizz was lush.

Had been a while since the last visit. Was very lucky to get a reservation after plans were changed . So pleased with every aspect of the meal. Each course was fantastic, my favourite was the veal sweetbreads however it was hard to pick a stand out as all were of excellent quality. The service was attentive and swift.

My experience with Adams was truly wonderful. My family and I visited Adams for lunch at the Chef's Table and were treated to a truly spectacular meal. The chance to watch the chefs at work was wonderful - their attentiveness and commitment to their culinary art is utterly enthralling. All our dishes were beautifully composed, made from a subtly intermingling mixture of flavours delicate and bold. What's more, the kindness and charm of the serving staff ensured that we all felt welcome, at ease and well looked after. It was fascinating to hear about the composition of our dishes, and the knowledge of all of the staff made our experience superb for a group of foodie fanatics. We loved our time with Adams, and the kindness and warmth of all of the team meant that our time with you was outstanding in every way.

During what has been a terrible year one of our best memories was dining at Adam`s restaurant. The food was spectacular and we had just a most special evening. Cosseted by lovely staff in a busy and exciting atmosphere. Seems like a life time ago. Not sure when the hospitality industry will open again but hopefully soon.
