Absolutely amazing dining experience. I went with a friend and we chose the tasting menu. The flavours and tastes are so different, such wonderful examples of what can be achieved with vegetables and a creative mind. The chef has matched flavours and textures so that each mouthful is a delightful surprise to be savoured. Had a marvellous evening and we are now keen to try the lunchtime menu, too. For a dining 'experience' which is totally vegetarian, there is nothing to match 'Land' in Birmingham. Excellent value for money. A lot of hard work has gone into the final perfect creation on the plate or dish. You are certainly made to feel very special here and the food is outstanding.

Brilliant experience from start to finish. Both the food and service is excellent. Every detail is looked at. Especially enjoyed how we were offered tastings of wine before dedicating to a whole bottle. Really appreciated Brad coming to speak to us and even sign a book! Throughly recommend for anyone who wants to try local produce and have a theatrical experience. The passion really shines through. Cannot stop talking about that chicken thigh!

Absolutely phenomenal experience, booked the chef's table for our anniversary and it couldn't have been any better, staff were friendly, attentive and went above and beyond. All staff members made sure we was comfortable and the food is an experience on its own. You have to try it yourself to fully appreciate it. The chef's were all lovely and kept checking in on us and it was so fascinating to watch a kitchen work so well and as a unison. Would absolutely return again.

Outstanding tasting menu; served unpretentiously by knowledgeable, warm and welcoming waiting staff. We really enjoyed learning about the source and heritage of the food we were eating, and how the ingredients complemented each other in between the many courses. We left with so many interesting food facts and new culinary ideas to take back to our own kitchen. We'll be foraging for our own ants the next time we're low on lemons!

Summary: Amazing Food was delicious and the service was top notch. We stayed for 5.5 hours and everything served from the gin and tonic starter to the last drop of coffee and spirits was just awesome. This was a great experience and I would not hesitate a second to visit again. Brad showed us the kitchen as a bonus and you can really see his passion for what he's doing.

Unfortunately I can only comment on the customer service and not the food (which I believe is very good). I booked this restaurant many weeks before the date. I made arrangements to travel from Norfolk to Birmingham to take my niece out for a Christmas dinner. I was contacted a few days before the reservation to explain that the booking had been cancelled as the restaurant was unwilling to meet my wife's dietary requirements. The restaurant was unable to email an earlier cancellation and although had tried to ring previously was unable to leave a message on my answering service (which is not a problem any other individuals have ever encountered). When Carters contacted me in person to cancel, the restaurant seemed very focused on explaining why I had been cancelled but offered little in way of a solution. They mentioned that they would suggest alternative restaurants but had not bothered to check if these had availability or the willingness to meet the dietary needs of the party. I indicated that the offer seemed likely to frustrate me further rather than assist. I would encourage anyone with allergies to seek written assurance when you book that you can be catered for to prevent a repeat of my unfortunate experience.

Simply fantastic food and great coffee too. Staff are friendly and welcoming, even in these new restricted times. Breakfast is awesome, but not as awesome as the sweet treats that await later in the day.

Great cafe with cozy seating. Overall staff are nice and attentive, however there was one rude member of staff last time I went who made me feel unwelcome. Sometimes it gets quite busy and there's a queue... I had to wait 40 minutes to get a table last time.

A restaurant that isn't pretentious or tries to be something it's not. Quick attentive service, beautifully delicious dishes & a wicked experience. If you're worried about portion size, I came in starving but left feeling satisfied after the 3 course menu. Thanks to the waitress for her excellent service last night !

This is simply fantastic. I'm not a vegan or vegetarian but my partner is. So a complete sceptic. The set menu is imaginative full of flavours and texture and a joy. The wine pairing is great with some great local British wines that taste amazing. This restaurant should join the ranks of Birmingham growing michelin ranks.

Absolutely outstanding from start to finish. Been to a quite few Michelin star restaurants, but Carter's was completely unique. So welcoming and completely un-pretentious, which isn't always a given. The food was perfect and the drinks pairing was amazing. Much more varied than expected, some styles I'd never even heard of. Can't recommend enough! Loved every second of it.

If I could give it 6 stars I would, 5 doesn't do it justice. The most exceptional food experience I've ever had in my life without a doubt. The attention to detail was to second to none. The service was fantastic, welcoming and not pretentious at all. Every single dish was impactful and memorable but the monkfish dish might be the best thing I've ever eaten. The wine pairing was a brilliant addition, full of interesting and delicious wines pairing seamlessly with the food. Overall Carter's was an unforgettable experience, the flavours will live long in the memory and I can't wait to visit again. I've visited other 1* Michelin star restaurants and Carter's is in a league of its own, definitely worthy of 2*.

Absolutely amazing experience at the chefs table last night. The service was outstanding: staff were so friendly and welcoming and attentive. The food was incredible and the eduction around the meal we had from head chef was really great. The drinks we had were also so good, we really appreciated how everything had a UK/Birmingham twist. Outstanding.

My wife and I went to Carter's of Moseley (COM) during our recent visit home to visit family in the Solihull area. We decided to treat ourselves to a night out and selected COM from the Michelin site and the fact it was so close to where we were staying. We selected the Chef's Table, the incremental cost from a regular table was minimal and we were not disappointed the the experience. We arrived a few minutes early for our 6:30pm reservation and were warmly welcome at the door and shown to our table. The Chef's table is a high top allowing for a view into the kitchen and seats up to 5 people...this particular evening he table was all ours. We chose not to do the wine paring with the menu and instead we had a great time talking with Ester, our sommelier for the evening, she was incredibly knowledgeable on their wines and took the time to help us select the perfect wines for our evening, thanks Ester. Brad and his team were busy in the kitchen and we had a front row seat. As we sipped champagne to start, it was not long before Brad was at the table introducing himself and his team and soon the courses began. I will post the menu and the pictures of the courses, but it was all incredibly well presented, explained to us in exquisite detail and the flavours were just superb. An inspired menu with all British sourced ingredients (except for the soy sauce). It is hard to pick out any highlights as each dish was an experience, beautiful in presentation on locally made plates, dishes and knives and the staff and service was exceptional. However, Truffle Royal, just a flavour explosion and with the gold leaf potato leaf was amazing. The hake dish was delicate and beautiful, Duck was cooked to perfection, not to mention the grain and parsnips served with it. By this time we were getting a little full but it was time for dessert. Buttermilk soft serve ice cream with birch sap, exceptional yet looks so simple. We so enjoyed the 4 hours we spent there, Brad, Holly and the entire staff were all so engaging and we ended up in the kitchen for a photo or two at the end. Brad and team were kind enough to answer all our questions during the evening and even provided us with a list of recommendations of local establishments as well as information on a couple of their purveyors. This was my second 1 Michelin Star restaurant and I have had the pleasure to also dine at a 2 and 3 Michelin star in the USA. That said, Carters of Moseley is right up there with what they do by comparison. Great job Brad, Holly and Team, we will be back.

Great atmosphere, food was out of this world and the teams passion for what they do really emanated from the way they individually introduced each course to us. It was great to meet the Chef too when he presented us with the home made bread which was THE best bread we have ever eaten! Thanks Carters of Moseley for a true taste experience, worth every penny! We will definitely be back!

Had a comfortable meal with my daughter. Everything was well presented and clearly described. We enjoyed every course. Of special note, the soft drinks available were exceptional; with unique options sourced as carefully as the food.

Kebab night (and that label is a complete disservice to the quality of food) 20th February.........what a pleasant change that made to the usual over cooked, bland, drenched in oil takeaway usually experienced on a Saturday night.....Carters kebab was excellent, great quality ingredients cooked to the highest standards and washed down with an excellent house bottle of wine........well Brad, Holly and the team.....

Second time visiting Carters, tried the kitchen table, we were not disappointed! The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, the produce and the wines. The quality of the food was absolutely outstanding, and the attention that goes into sourcing the best produce is really apparent.

Very elegant and cosy place with only a few tables. As we were getting out of car, one of the waitresses noticed and opened door for us to come inside right away. We chose a 4 course menu, which consists of couple small plates as starters, delicious homemade bread, two mains and deserts, and a bottle of white wine which we chose out of 3 we were able to taste. Dishes were small, however very complex and flavourful. I decided to rate 4* because some of the dishes were below average and I expected for it to be something more I guess. Overall very good experience 🙂

Excellent taster menu at this well known establishment. Staff very friendly and super knowledagable about the food and its source. Lots of variety in the courses and some very innovative dishes. We had a mixed party of veggie and non-veggie and Carters managed to deal with this very well with some courses where everyone got the same and some different. Highly recommended for a special occassion.

Simply OUTSTANDING!! Even during lockdown this was an amazing experience the staff and the team where so attentive, and the atmosphere was so relaxed and not stuffy at all. Chef table was brilliant. To listen to how the food is all sourced in the UK and the process the team go through to cook the food was awesome. Watching them work was a lesson for any organisation what a great team is all about, everyone knew their roles and all supported each other throughout service. The we come to Brad, the man with a beer named after him and an awesome beard, a brilliant local triumph story, so humble and ridiculously talented who even during a busy service took time to speak to every one in the restaurant, including answering all our questions, and check in with all his team. The man is a genius!! With his partner Holly, the best host I have ever met, running the front of house they cannot fail and I wish the team all the success for the future as its truly deserved. Thank you all for an amazing experience and we will be back soon. Any looking for an amazing experience and the best food in Brum head to Carters!

I managed to eat here just before the Covid 19 Restaurant shutdown, and it was a real treat. Everything was very special, including the Scottish Beef dish that Brad had cooked on the Saturday Kitchen TV programme recently. The Wine list is extraordinary and Alex will assist in recommending wines.

Very clean and friendly. Ate their 31.10.2019. Food was less than mediocre, in fact it was horrid. Bread and risotto was good and red wine delicious. One of the worst meals I gave had and I go to a lot of good places. What makes it worse is the cost and the expectation of a huge tip. Never again

Very nice from start to finish. The staff are warm and welcoming, knowledgeable about the food and drinks. Had the 8 course set menu although I'm sure I counted 11. All the food was delicious obviously, and as it is fine dining the portions are tiny. I had the Japanese Meddler cocktail which was amazing. Lovely experience to have eaten the food but too expensive to go back .

Relaxed atmosphere; attentive and knowledgeable (but never pretentious) service; and delicious, if slightly minimalist, food. We enjoyed the attention to detail - home-germinated basil seeds, for example, in an incredible tomato & curds course, or upcycling used wine lees in a sauce over some Cornish ray. Wine list extensive and interesting. We very much plan to be back soon to Carters - they do food the proper way, with no corners cut.

  • 5/5 Googlechunky B. 4 years ago on Google
A fine dining experience worthy of its Michelin star rating, fine food and good attentive service. Would recommend a slightly bigger portion (even on the 8 course taster menu) but apart from that, was a lovely meal, with some new tastes i have not tried before. The grouse was excellent. Recommended.

Damascena is my favourite restaurant in Brum, hands down. I’d heard this location wasn’t as good as the Moseley one, but I haven’t found that - they have great service and food. Been stocking up on my faves and baklava recently when I have a chance to come to the centre, could eat their food all day!! I’ve tried most of the menu and it’s all been great. I most frequently order the mixed mezze because it’s great value for money. The baklava and baba ganoush are amazing (not tigethe)!

  • 4/5 Imtiaz F. 3 years ago on Google
The setting is excellent, and service is generally superb. In a city centre which is dominated by restaurants that cost a fair amount of money, it is lovely to have a high quality, reasonably priced place to enjoy yourself. One thing to note is that it frequently is busy so you'll have to wait 10-15 mins to be seated. I put this as a negative because the restaurant doesn't have a system in place to reserve a place and enjoy the park opposite.

Been here before for excellent coffee and salad. Today, alas, on a cameo trip into Brum, I sat there for half an hour and no-one took my order, so I left to get my train and, against my usual practice, to patronise a chain coffee shop.

I finally got around to visiting Damascena in Temple Row to try the food. Can I just say, every single thing was quality! Exquisite flavours & textures; seasoned to perfection. Hands down, the best vines leaves & falafel I have ever had. The decor is stunning, staff were lovely. I would highly recommend you try it out. I am gluten intolerant & my friend is allergic to nuts. Visited this Damascena after the one in Jewellery Quarter was completely full and would not be visiting this one again. We were waiting an awfully long time and the staff were not welcoming or apologetic. The cinnamon tea tasted as if several tea packs had been concentrated to create this one abomination. It was undrinkable as the taste was so overwhelming. The mains seating area is extremely crammed and there appears to be no adherence to COVID social distancing guidelines. We had groups of people sitting around us on each side, less than an arms length away. I would simply recommend the Damascena in the Jewellery Quarter as I have visited there countless time and can say they always delivery on quality.

What an amazing meal we had here just before lockdown. The flavours in the innovative menu were just divine! Every mouthful of food was superb. The service was excellent too. We took meat eating friends with us and they were just as impressed as us Vegans. In fact this food was better than a Michelin starred restaurant we went to a few months ago.

  • 5/5 Kam S. 4 years ago on Google
My first full vegan/vegetarian fine dining experience. Highly recommended! We tried the 6 course taster vegan and vegetarian options, our favourite was the vegan, Delicious! All dishes were unique in appearance, texture and flavour, it was a delightful taste tour of thier offering. Service was excellent never a seconds delay, as soon as we one serving, our table was cleared cleaned new cutlery and the next dishes came quickly at request. I liked how each dish was introduced when served, I recommend trying the taster menu to experience the different flavours. Keep plenty of time aside and go on an empty stomach. Looking forward to trying another tour of more unique dishes 😅😁

If you were ever thinking of going vegan or vegetarian this would certainly help you on your journey. I had the 2 course set menu for £20. A potato rosti for the starter, then an oyster mushroom for the main. Definitely not your usual 'veggie' choice of options at any other restaurants! Exquisite is all I can say!

We went for lunch at Land after wanting to dine here for some time, well it was most definitely worth the wait. We dined off the Chefs Menu which is extremely well priced. The food was excellent, and the 5 plates came out with good amount of time between them. Not only this service was wonderful and my brother had an allergy to one of the menu items listed and they were more than accommodating. I shall be back and telling all my friends they should pay a visit!

We had the chef's menu, it was wonderful. The service was great. I highly recommended the wine flight. For £20 you get some really interesting wines. We had a distinctive orange wine, a great desert wine and the most powerful sauvignon blanc I have ever tried. The value proposition is unrivalled.

Had the most fantastic time. I'm a chef and a meat eater, I didnt miss the animal produce and it was genuinely the best meal out I've had in years.

My husband took me to Land on 2nd September as a treat and the whole experience was fantastic. The menu is so cleverly put together, we had 3 courses and all of the food was delicious. Service was 5*, I can't rate this place enough and look forward to our next visit. Land really deserves a Michelin Star!

Amazing lunch. Had the chef menu. Wine pairing was great. Front of house, Damian was a legend. All plant based and so so tasty. 100% coming back again. Michelin star flavour food at a fraction of the cost. Amazing ♥️🌿

I'm not a vegetarian but i do like my veg food. I tried this restaurant for the first time today &the flavours were lovely. I had the 3 course set menu. Each plate was well presented & it is nice to have a vegetarian restaurant to go to if thats your thing. I had a non-alcholic ginger & lemon tea drink which i loved, the ginger had a great kick to it. I tried some of my friends food & didnt like the crispy egg dish. The falafel had a great flavour, would have enjoyed more in the portion. The jersey potato dish was delicious. I liked the touch of the bread & butter given at the start too. The strawberry parfait was my favourite & a great dessert. I felt the portions to be on the smaller side. Because of the eat out to help out we had a £20 discount. But i have to be honest I felt it would have been pricey to have had the full bill which would have been over £50. Neither of us got full & ended up having a snack elsewhere after. However the atmos was nice & the staff were great. I like the quiet location too considering it is in town.

(Translated by Google) We ate at this restaurant to try something special and were pleasantly surprised! Innovative, tasty and light cuisine: the strawberry parfait won the first prize for best dish, but everything we tasted was excellent! I point out the presence of special beers and fermented foods ... a little gem in the beautiful center of Birmingham!

Yes yes yes!!! This an absolute must-do for anyone visiting Birmingham (or anyone living there, for that matter). Vegetables are yummy and awesome, and this restaurant puts all of them in the spotlight. I wish I could give Land 10 out of 5 stars. Without a doubt the high point of the evening, was the cabbage with panko and miso and apple. Simple perfection... The beers (I can't drink wine) worked well, especially the stout with chocolate mousse. Service was perfect, the presentation beautiful, the music pleasant, the amuses were tasty... If we are everyt in Birmingham again, this is our place to go!

A little gem in the city centre. We tried the set menu at Land which had the added bonus of an incredibly tasty chick pea focussed amuse bouche and gorgeous cumin bread. The starters were then knock out, the cabbage in particular. Unfortunately I found the Turnip main a bit too salty and lacking texture.. the desserts were a nice way to finish. One of the highlights though were the staff, so friendly and attentive without being over bearing. Overall a lovely spot for dinner and would recommend people to try.

Wow! I am so in loved with every dish. I could feel how much time the chef has invest in creating each dish. The food were presented beautifully and the plates were all so unique. I can’t say which dish is the best. The ingredients used were all sustainable. The service was impeccable and the food were divine. I would be coming back when I get an opportunity. A place to celebrate your special occasions. Highly recommended.

Last minute cancellations are pretty cr@ppy for restaurants and the hospitality industry - but it does give the opportunity to visit a restaurant we have been attempting to go to for a while!! Unobtrusive and just off the high street in Moseley - CoM is ace. The decor is pretty dark but the lighting works well and due to the small size you get a good view of the kitchen. If you follow the staff dinners on Instagram it's like a parade of familiar faces (I think I may have been fanboying for large portions on the evening...). But was it any good?? Yes, it's awesome! The service is friendly and unobtrusive but spot on. The food was exceptional - local and British sourced ingredients means some clever interpretations of non UK ingredients. Big shout out to Mac n Cheese, the Brum soup and the trout (oh, and all the epic snacks). The drinks pairing and introductions were great with some interesting accompaniments to keep you thinking. It's not cheap but I think it's a fair price for the quality of the food and the experience.

Brought my nan here for her birthday. Had a fantastic time, food, wine and service were all phenomenal. Friendly warming staff who make you feel very welcome, really tasty food and interesting wines that all marry together for an excellent experience. I would highly recommend and I would return again 100% for sure

Chef Brad Carter has taken his cooking to a whole new level. Absolutely amazing tasting menu tonight featuring a gorgeous razor clam faux pasta dish, scrumptious monkfish paired with winter truffle, hen of the woods and other mushrooms, superb venison with a very clever twist and a dessert combining spruce fir and wood ants (yes, you read that correctly). Stunningly good food! Clever, but not for the sake of cleverness - it's all about the flavour and textures. Menus change regularly to reflect what's in season.

Amazing food and a pleasure to hear how much of it is locally sourced. The staff are really friendly and make you feel right at home... No airs and graces here! Would definitely recommend.

Every single dish was a surprise, so as the wine pairing. The chef and the staff has carefully designed the experience, from the moment you sit down, the menu, the name / story of the restaurant are special. It also has its own parking spots so it’s convenient. This place is a must try!

Absolutely fabulous. My parents are approaching the 80's but never experienced a fine dining experience. They experienced where the food was sourced, where the wine came from and the most friendliest staff serving and explaining the food. I actually thought my dad would enjoy the experience more but my mother was in her element. Holly was so accommodating and Brad took the time to come over after we''d eaten to see how the experience went. The staff are fantastic. The food was delicious and that's all I will say as you need to go and experience it. Holly's brother is one of talented staff under Brad who explained the Droitwich Bread and the fabulous butter served with it. An experience I wanted to give to my father and mother as a thank you and it didn't disappoint. Thank you as you made the evening Carters.

Absolutely amazing! We had the 6 course dinner to celebrate my husband’s birthday, loved the charcoal BBQ duck it was super tender with crispy skin that melts in your mouth, also the crunchy fried chicken at the start was finger licking good! Would definitely recommend and visit again for special occasions!

The best Michelin starred restaurant we've eaten at! Fantastic service- food- settings- wine pairing. Chefs table was perfect. The explanation and experience of the food was like theatre. We were treated extremely well and can't wait to return again. 10/10
