One of my all time favourite places to eat! Service is always absolutely incredible here - not overbearing like most restaurants, but incredibly attentive and polite which is perfect for me. The food (variety and quality) is much better than what you'd expect from a buffet. As a pescatarian, it can sometimes be slightly trickier to find suitable options for eating but there is so much to choose from even if you're not a meat eater. Took my partner here for the first time on Monday evening and he loved it. Can't wait to return.

Very good quality for an all you can eat buffet to be honest. The usual setup of certain dishes only available on the evening menu that is more expensive. On a Saturday afternoon expect to wait a short while in the bar area to get a table, then expect to hear happy birthday every 15 minutes for the duration of your meal. It's a popular venue, it's to be expected. We have visited a few times and found weeknights really good, standard buffet as usual plus some king prawn dishes etc. The fresh area is good, they'll make a dish up for you. Buffet trays are checked and replaced often and kept warm. Pretty good overall.

Service and price was decent but mixed feelings on the Karaoke. First of all the sound system and booths are great. We booked for 6 and had plenty of room, and the price per head included drinks etc. Mics and sound were very good BUT the choice of songs are incredibly limited/outdated. Not only that, but a lot of the songs are not originals and have SUPER WEIRD stock videos with out-of-sync lyrics, which we found to be very annoying. For that reason I can't really recommend this place for Karaoke, there are better options in Birmingham.

I visited Birmingham this weekend as my partner was Djing in a club so I decided to join him for the night & we came here to eat prior to his set. Entrance - very easy to find as it’s a massive building - looks like an entrance to a rave as you have to go upstairs once you’re in, nevertheless - decent. Food - very very nice food, a humongous choice of food to choose from, from starters, to mains, to deserts, fruit, salad, pizza you name it. They even had a live kitchen where they made you ramen on the spot - which by the way I would NOT recommend - they basically just chuck dry noodles in hot water with langoustines - no seasoning no care - 2 minute job. It was inedible. But other than that, it was very good food, so much choice & very hot! Drinks - we ordered two cokes with a slice of lemonade - they came fast - can’t go wrong! Decor - The decor was as if you were in an American casino with Chinese food, it was a bit all over the place but they made it work. Cleanliness - Around the food it was clean, the tables were clean, but the toilets - I have no words. How they sign it off every hour to say it’s been cleaned is diabolical. One of the taps was missing in one of the sinks leaving a very big hole. It stank and was defo not being cleaned every hour. I could not use them myself due to them being so dirty and waited till I got back to my hotel. Cost - £22.99 per person for the buffet which I think is an absolute bargain for all the things you can get. Nice!! Customer service - Great. All staff were nice and friendly! Any time my plate was finished it was cleared making it easier to get more food and have more space! Thank you! Overall - Great food, good customer service, I would definitely return. 7/10

Ming moons has change significantly since I last visited back in 2014. The food is much nicer then back then the staff are nice and friendly, but you don’t see to much of them. Food was fresh and hot other then the sushi. I found the sushi had been sitting out for a while and it was relatively hot inside, the only major complaint about this place was the noise and the sudden loudness of the song happy birthday being played, and the bathroom facilities could have been a little more cleaner. Other then that it was a nice food experience, would go again but In a large group not for a small family meal.

Very busy to get food and karaoke room being in the basement is two flights away from the food for anyone with mobility issues, I am really glad I didn't invite my parents. They have a lift but we had a group member who asked to use it as she was stuggling with the stairs and the seats were not clean in the karaoke room we were in. Regarding the karaoke the search feature wasn't working properly and we had to just put in the first two letters to find songs. On the plus the freshly made food was great and everything I ate was delicious. The room was nicely decorated and comfortable but I was told it would take between 10 and 20 people I disagree that 20 people could comfortably sit in that room and I was lucky I had some people that couldn't turn up on the day because we never would have been able to comfortably sit in there and eat. In the end I had a great time in great company but there would definitely have been room for improvement in my opinion.

Visited when my partner and I went to watch a concert in Birmingham. Very pricey but can understand as it’s in the centre of town near lots of theatres and attractions. Food was very nice and plenty to choose from. Desserts were well presented 😊

Really enjoyed my meal here, food was fresh, hot and a great selection. Pricing was fair and had a fantastic atmosphere. Staff were great, always on hand to guide or clear plates away. Will definitely check out their other locations

First time I’ve visited Ming Moon, the staff are so welcoming and friendly. There was a big selection of food for everyone to try. The décor was beautiful. It’s amazing value at only £13.99 per person for an all you can eat buffet! I went at lunch time (13:00) the food was just being prepared. They have a selection of Chinese and English food so they cater for a lot of people. The puddings were really nice, recommend the profiteroles! Overall amazing service and would definitely be back!

Beautiful interior with a difference. Luxury looking interior. Great atmosphere. Food is OK, lots of dishes taste the same. All food is lukewarm, not hot enough. Good choice of desserts, which are more enjoyable than savoury dishes .

Me and my friend both where really craving food after intermittent fasting and dieting so me and my mate thought we would try Ming Moon for our cheat day, we usually go to either bon pan in merry Hill or safari on the Wolverhampton Road, Ming moon compared to both these places is absolutely garbage. Seeing as we where literally starving we should have literally found everything here delicious but everything just tasted so bland. All the foods tasted very low quality. To name a few. The pizzas where literally worse than the cheapest ready made ones you get in like Iceland, being tasteless, burned and having no toppings. I literally tryed every meat dish except the pork ones in the main section and I couldn't finish anything I put on my plate because it was so bad. All the meats tasted very low quality except for the battered chicken balls which where ok. The main dishes all where bland, the fried beef Brisket did not taste like it even had meat inside it but literally just fried batter.... the rices, ice cream and crepe where nice though. The fresh grilled noodles section wasn't terrible but took so long to cook and did not live up to other buffet grills which don't even specialise in oriental dishes. Half the desert section was empty. We arrived at 8pm and when booking over the phone we where told everything is available, this was a lie, few things to mention aswell which made the whole experience even more distasteful. The ice cream machine spits out your cone of icecream like its telling you to **** off, when my crepe was ready a staff member had taken away the toppings section for it and gave it back to me with disgust as if it was time to close at 9pm? Well should i be sorry for being a customer at your place?? We ordered 2 drinks they took 15minutes to arrive which i had to hunt down from the staff after they forgot to bring it for us, seating can be very tight, tables are tiny and the place gets bloody warm. I wanted water and I was told to go to a water dispenser machine being sent on a wild goose chase, only for the water to be out of stock. It was never refilled for the 2 hours we where there. few of there main course dishes had finished aswell and never where refilled, very poor management. Won't be going back. £21 aswell on a Monday while you have to pay to park nearby. not cheap compared to other places

DO NOT GO HERE! We were so excited to celebrate a hen do at Ming Moon Kareoke but wow it’s not worth it. They had no wheelchair access and when you do make it to the room (wheelchair user having to go in a service lift and through 3 kitchens!?!), good luck walking on the floor. The floor isn’t wet, it’s just like they have wiped it with grease, you genuinely struggle to stand up it’s so SLIPPY! The brides mom actually fell and the staff then AFTER put out wet floor signs and pretended they had been there the whole time!? Illegal? The brides mom didn’t get a single moment at kareoke she was icing her head all night and didn’t get to celebrate! We requested a refund for the people who couldn’t enjoy their evening, as also 3 nurses in our party didn’t get to do kareoke as they had to look after the brides mom, since the venue had no first aider- again illegal? While trying to speak with the manager, they just laughed at us! LAUGHED! So rude, awful experience, highly recommend you don’t bother.

Awful experience I came to ming moon for my hen do this Saturday. Firstly, before booking the party we asked ming moon if the karaoke and place was accessible for wheel chair access and elderly. They had approved of this. When getting to the venue, my friend in a wheel chair was told she would have to get up the front stairs, she was confused and told by staff they will just “carry her” which we rejected. She was able to use some crutches to get up, however this was VERY risky and unsafe. In terms of getting to the karaoke bar, you need to go down to spiral steps, we asked for accessible areas and were take to a service lift in the back of the venue. My grandma and friend in a wheelchair had to go through a kitchen, down a service lift to get to the karaoke bar and do this any time they needed to get upstairs. This was not “accessible” Secondly, the floor in the karaoke bar is RIDICULOUSLY SLIPPY. My poor mum was walking and slipped in the corridor of the karaoke bar. We had just arrived and slipped and hit her head off the wall quite hard, the staff around were USELESS. They watched her on the floor whilst myself and other members of family tried to help her sit up, almost instantly her head had ballooned up with swelling and she was screaming in pain. Even then staff were useless and didn’t know what to do, I asked for a first aider and they didn’t respond. Luckily in our hen party we had two practitioners, who were able to advise ice and water and pain killers instantly. Now accidents happen, and we understand that, but the way staff treated my mother and myself during this was horrific. They put out wet floor signs after the incident and refused to show any accountability of the floor being so slippy, they had no idea medically what to do, and I believe there was no first aider. The whole time of us being there was awful, we had the manager and another staff member arguing about paying for drinks and the experience and there was no remorse at all for the incident that happened. The place is dangerous, it’s not accessible and not safe for anyone especially if people are drinking! The staff are useless and are more bothered about the money people bring than the customer service and how they treat their guests. My poor mum and myself couldn’t enjoy my hen do, and she was taken straight home. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had!

Food was excellent. If you are doing the karaoke, be prepared to climb stairs and climb again with your food in hand! Seconds only for the fittest eaters!! Karaoke tracks could be a little more UK friendly!

Can't comment on the food as we arrived at midnight for 2 hours of hen-do karaoke. The room was great (named crazy rich Asians) was really spacious with plenty of seating, 2 large wall mounted TVs, good choice of songs, nice lighting and a button to call the host who was very good at his job, he explained everything well and was friendly and welcoming. Good selection of songs, some of them had the original videos playing alongside the songs as well.

Visited today and I was totally flabbergasted. My last visit previously was two and a half years ago and the difference is literally night and day. The food was totally tasteless and overcooked. In my experience whenever you visit a Chinese restaurant which is very near China Town and do not see a single Chinese person walk in or seated, that is a warning signal. That was my first observation. In two hours not one person who appeared to be of a Far Eastern origin or culture walked in. The starters was a disaster! I have been visiting Chinese restaurants for over fifty years as its one of my favorite foods and I have never eaten such bland over-cooked food. At one point I went up to a person who was identified as a Manager and politely told him that the food was terrible to which he responded 'When last were you here?' While that seemed to be irrelevant I politely informed him the date of my last visit. The worst thing presented was labelled corn soup (which I normally love to eat) but in all politeness it was disgusting and I would not feed my dog with that mess. The dessert was no better with one exception. The soft ice cream was similar to a cheap branded ice cream which at least had some resemblance to ice cream. Everything else was literally horrible. Baking is one of my hobbies and yet I could not identify what was presented as cakes. I thought Costco made the worst contraption presented as a cake but this one took it to another level of what I am struggling to describe. Even the simple sweets like jelly beans and marshmallows tasted nothing like what we grew up running to the local corner store after school happily to buy. These were indescribable and frankly inedible. The one star I am giving is for the waiters who were very attentive, polite, smartly dressed and very helpful. I cannot evaluate the price which is £15.99 per person because the food is not worth a penny. Please do NOT waste your money or time visiting that establishment designated as a restaurant.

Wandered in here by chance and was pleasantly surprised. Really nice decoration and atmosphere. Went for lunch on a Friday and it was £12.99 for an adult all you can eat. Soft drinks aren't too expensive either. An alright amount of dishes out to try, I'm guessing dinner would have more dishes and desserts.

Came across this buffet wile exploring Birmingham. The staff were super friendly and quick. There was lots of food and deserts. The food was hot and fresh. However I think there could be a bit more of a range of food. Otherwise a really positive experience

Walked in on a Saturday afternoon maybe waited 20minutes for a table and then feasted. So many choices and all of them piping hot, I was so impressed with how often a fresh serving would be added to the buffet. Felt lovely not to be on a timer trying to shovel food in, instead just enjoying the food and having 1 more round than I needed. Will definitely be back.

Should be CHINESE Buffet (/All You Can Eat) Restaurant. Most of the dishes are Asian influence, or some kind of fusion (chips? Nuggets?!) cuisine but it's really hard to get Real Chinese food down here. About dessert from Great Wall 🐉 country you can forget as well. Proces are quite fair, but the service despite being friendly incredibly Fast same time - in negative way, felt rushed. Interior left the most positive feelings being some kind of '90 Hongkong style. Cool thing is that place got karaoke rooms behind the wall of restaurant 🎤👨‍🎤 Overall - fine but still quite dissatisfied

I reserved a table for 10 people for a birthday, and the staff were very accommodating and welcoming; i can't thank them enough for their hospitality. The table service was great with the option to order drinks via your phone using a QR code, which helped so much with the size of the group. Hopefully will be back soon.

Ming Moon is a gem! Amazing service, delicious food, and a cozy atmosphere. The buffet had a wide variety of dishes, and the sushi bar was top-notch. Prices were great for the value. Definitely coming back for more!

Fabulous array of Chinese, Japanese and Asian food. The only downside was waiting 30 minutes for two drinks. We love coming here, the food is always fantastic and lovely people who manage it. Really well priced too for an all you can eat. We get small plates each time we go up as it really annoys us when people pile their plates high and leave half of it, such a shameful waste! We will see you again Ming Moon next year!

I don’t understand how people eat here still? I’m sorry buffet island is way better. We came in a group of 8.. 1 of us wasn’t eating and we had children. The manager was quite rude about letting the one adult who wasn’t eating sitting in with her paying child. Then she measured a 2 year old to check they fitted the measurements?? The food looked fine whilst there didn’t really have a great selection on desserts but the next day LOL your belly is going to run: all I’ve got to say is the kids had green poo. From the rats situation they had, I do think it’s time for them to vacate completely or start fresh. Trust me for £22 it’s not worth it. The whole place just gives sticky surface.

Had a lovely time, everyone was friendly and helpful, the food was very good, on a Sunday you pay more and there's more food out and nicer options including a stir fry area, I loved the sushi selection personally. I didn't have to pay for my son he s 2 but big and he did eat some food and he absolutely loved sonic walking around dancing and playing with the children so fair play to the person dressed up. Had a very nice anniversary meal :)

Spent an evening in the Thai karaoke room for a family party, room smelt of BO along with some of the staff. To get food it was a walk up to floors passing a cooking station that could have been used for rooms below, bar area was in clean and smelt. Toilets left a lot to be desired as weren't clean. Food stations was not topped up regular so choice was limited, overall not a pleasant experience.

I went there for my friends 21st bday and we rented the crazy rich Asians karaoke room, it was AMAZING. Loved the decor and lighting!! Service was great too!! My only downside is that it's in a really dodgy looking area so it was a bit worrying having to go out in the dark

  • 3/5 Sharon M. 1 year ago on Google
I always have fun, with friends here but I think it would be better to have even more people so your in a larger room on the top floor and not on the ground floor too far from the buffet and the rooms get very stuffy.
