This was an amazing find in Birmingham city centre! I never knew about balti until a friend told me so I had to try the vegetable balti and it was absolutely amazing and my only thought was why haven't I had this sooner! The staff are super friendly and welcoming, they made my dining experience so enjoyable. Highly recommend!

We’ve been dining at Taj Mahal for over 10 years now and it’s absolutely fantastic that every time we visit, the service, food, ambience has never let us down. Abdul is an incredible individual who goes the extra mile to ensure your comfort and we couldn’t shout out enough!! Thank you for the high level of personal service and the consistent quality of food My daughter rated everything 10/10 and she isn’t easy to please so well done to you!! Highly recommended

Visited Taj Mahal many times. Nice location, nice place. Naan breads are perfect. Food is not as good as it once was. The place Use to be excellent & up there with the best Indian restaurants in the region but sadly has not maintained its quality & taste. Many of the Dishes can be very oily. I have given this place many chances to improve as I’ve had many good times dining in this restaurant but I’m afraid it come to the point now, I won’t be visiting for a very long time. Service on the other hand has always been class.

Great food, very reasonable prices, and a lovely warm welcome from Abdul with great customer service. They have an excellent selection of curries and it cost us £50 for starters, poppadoms, curries and drinks. Great value for Birmingham city centre.

Coming to Birmingham, we had to have some Bombay aloo, chicken Balti and Lamb Biryani as they were dishes invented here. And we were not disappointed. Without doubt, the best I have ever hadĺ

The restaurant has very very poor service. It took 40+ minutes to get the food on the table. They took 15 minutes to take the order itself. Coming to food this is the worst food I have tasted in England. We ordered starters and biryani, the rice is so crispy which is shocking and food has been drenched in the oil and turmeric powder. Starters don't even cook properly. Coming to the portion, the quantity of biryani sauce which they have mentioned is more than the quantity of biryani in the plate. I would not recommend this place to any of them at any time.

One of the best curry house in central Birmingham. Came up for the football and need a curry house for dinner. Cobra beer on tap, lovely staff who are very helpful and curry was tasty and a decent price. If your in central Birmingham, come here. Don’t go anywhere else!

Chicken tandoori, dhaal tarka, naan is good. Vegetable dishes are average. Overall good food when you are hungry. Service is good. Could be little cheaper that would increase overall rating.

AMAZING FOOD AND SERVICE ! Super happy with the service we received in Taj Mahal Restaurant Blackpool, professional and kind staff members. The food was full of flavours and Naan was freshly made in the Tandoor. Cleanliness was not an issue as it was kept up to standards at all times. Great place to go with family and friends, Highly recommend this Restaurant.

No problem with service at all, the food was tasty but for me everything was so very greasy and over oily. Went for the recommendation of the chicken chili garlic and a side of spinach but was too much oil to finish. Shame as it was very tasty food but over priced.

Amazing curries with amazing flavour and the service was 10/10. Prices are also decent considering the location in city centre. We went for our Diwali meal here and the food was fabulous. Will definitely return!

Subpar food, overpriced with extortionate service charge, very long wait times even with empty restaurant, and certain items not listed on menu so they can charge extra at the end. Will not be visiting again and highly recommend that you avoid

Poor poor poor....reserved a table for a big group..was it ready for when we arrived?..no! The service was poor..it took a very long time to get just our drinks let alone the food. When the food did arrive my plate was hotter than the curry in the dish and in all honesty the curry was very oily and lacked flavour. Also, poor meat to sauce ratio.. All in all a disappointing dining experience. Wouldn't visit again!

The food here was amazing and the staff was wonderful! My wife and I came from the USA and Tikka Masala is typically spicy over there compared to here. We had ordered the regular Chicken Tikka Masala and it was very sweet and we talked with the staff, they were very understanding and switched out our dishes for their spicy Dasi Tikka Masala on the house and it was amazing! If you're touring from a region where Tikka is typically slightly spicy, the Dasi Tikka is what you want to order. Had an amazing time here.

Wonderful restaurant, a little out the way. They kindly managed to find us a seat when they were clearly packed and could’ve done without it! But service was still great with staff very attentive and the food was amazing. Would highly recommend.

Been dining here for many years and the food is always excellent. Small restaurant and often busy tucked away off the beaten track but well worth seeking out.

There was a huge variety of dishes and different possible combinations, everyone will find something they enjoy. The food came shortly after ordering and tasted delicious. The service was amazing and everyone was quite friendly. We even got warmed up hand wipes and some chocolate after dinner. Can really recommend!!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Taj Mahal Restaurant in Birmingham, and I must say it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting ambiance set the stage for a memorable evening. The decor beautifully reflected the rich cultural heritage of India, creating a charming atmosphere that complemented the dining experience. Now, let's talk about the food – a true culinary masterpiece! The menu offered an extensive array of authentic Indian dishes, each bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. The chefs at Taj Mahal clearly take pride in their craft, as every dish was a testament to their dedication to excellence. We started our meal with the samosas, which were perfectly crisp on the outside and filled with a delectable blend of spices and vegetables. The desi butter chicken was a highlight of the evening, with a rich creamy sauce with fresh green chilies that was nothing short of heavenly. The biryani was another standout, fragrant and perfectly cooked with a medley of spices that danced on the palate. The service was impeccable – attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that we had a memorable dining experience. They were more than happy to provide recommendations and accommodate dietary preferences. To top it all off, the presentation of each dish was a work of art. It was evident that the chefs at Taj Mahal not only focus on taste but also take great care in crafting visually stunning plates. In summary, Taj Mahal Indian Restaurant is a gem in Birmingham's culinary scene. If you're looking for an authentic and unforgettable Indian dining experience, this is the place to be. I can't wait to return and explore more of their enticing menu. Five stars without a doubt – this establishment truly deserves every accolade.

Wonderful food and the service from Shahidul was first class. The Tandoori Fish starter was the highlight for me but the Harrey Mirch Masala was fantastic too. Think it would be fair to say the gents loos need a revamp but I didn't come for that. We were well fed and well looked after and booked a table with ease at super short notice.

Recommended by a friend, I had to try. Very welcoming team, nice layout for a smaller place. Good choice of beers, soft drinks, and LOADS of food options on an easy to navigate menu. I went for a special, was very good, great size portions so don't over order! Keema naan was great, egg fried rice great, and the standard poppadoms accompanied with the dips. Awesome service, the friendliest people, so nice. Win win!

Went here with a large group and everyone enjoyed their food. The curries had good flavour and prices were reasonable compared to a lot of the other curry houses in the area. Service was a little slow although that may be because a large group arrived before us. Easy to see how this place has kept going for so long and would definitely visit again.

I ordered three portions of Chicken Biryani. Unfortunately, it took one and a half hours for the food to arrive. I have no idea when they prepared it, but by the time it arrived, it had already started to decompose. This was my first time ordering from here, and based on this experience, I will not be recommending it to anyone. It was a very disappointing and unsatisfactory experience. there is no option to select below 1 hence selected single star

Lovely first time ,second time sauce was very water based, no fresh chilli or garlic in a chilli and garlic dish very disappointed naan bread very nice ,if only they had consistency 😌

Nice tasting curry however I found the building dark, staff standing around chatting and generally not a great experience. It was late and we were the only ones there but this happens a lot with me working mad hours and usually we get a much better service !

Hidden indian restaurant in Birmingham City Centre. The online booking system is abit of a farce, didn't hear back with confirmation of our booking until 30 mins until we dined. Warm & friendly welcome. Clean and tidy, lovely waiter. Decided just to order mains, hubby had chicken balti, chicken was overcooked and onions were crunchy. I had chicken tikka and it was yummy just way too much rice. Lovely place.
