My husband and I went to Hotel Du Vin & Bistro for our anniversary 💕🍷 the mood in the restaurant was so romantic. ✨The servers were so nice and the food was delicious. One of the best juiciest steaks I’ve ever had 🥩and the muscles were so creamy in that lovely, white wine and garlic sauce 😋

I visited the hotel for a champagne afternoon tea. The afternoon tea was lovely and there was a wide choice of teas to choose. I would say the ice cream pop was a nice idea, but needs to be eaten sooner rather than later, for obvious reasons. The service was great to start with, but there was a change of shift which left us with one gentleman covering the dining room and as well setting up another part of the dining room for an event, dividing his attention. All in all it was a good experience I would recommend.

The location is perfect for a city break and the decor and ambience make it a very relaxing experience. My one criticism is that the rooms are now suffering from wear and tear and need a bit of a refresh given the price you pay. Edit: thanks for the response Corabeth, there is no doubt we will visit again, I hope the refresh is done for next time 😁

The Birmingham Wine School hosted a wine tasting with lunch event here. Perfect, central venue, lovely surroundings and a superb two-course lunch. Recommended

A fabulous overnight stay. Everything about this hotel feels special. From lovely staff in Reception (Fleur is kind and thoughtful, and makes a wonderful first impression) to rooms that are stylish and comfortable, dinner in Bistro that really feels like a treat, and an enjoyable breakfast in the morning. We were lucky enough to stay in Junior Suites, with an emperor sized beds and high ceilings, so much space! We’ve stayed in a few lovely hotels, but have to concede that this was our favourite. It had such a feel of elegant luxury!

Query hotel. Great pillows, love a good feather flat pillow. Rooms old worldly, well appointed. Great bathroom and shower. Bar area good to spend time in, well stocked. Central location only 7 minutes from train station and 4 minutes from high street. Good selection of pubs and restaurants within a couple of minutes walk.

Didn't stay at the hotel, but did have a couple of drinks at the bar. Asked for a Manhattan, which wasn't on the menu but they were very happy to make it for me. Outcome was a very nice drink in a beautiful bar served by very nice people. Would definitely recommend if you're looking to drink somewhere a bit more upscale in the centre of the city.

Had a great stay and the service was brilliant. Few minor improvements: 1. Better pillows as most of the pillows in the room are not good for the neck as you sink completely through them 2. Bathroom tiling and bath tub sills just need a bit care as they were dirty

Stayed there for 3 nights. Wheelchair access, whilst there, was a bit tricky at first, but you'd expect that with old buildings. The lift was perfectly fine and the staff always ready to come and unlock the ramp door. Room was tidy and well kept, the bed was the softest bed I've slept on in a hotel. Pillows were absolutely divine. Staff were always polite and willing to help, especially with trying to find accessible taxis for when you're not going for a wander "on foot". Location is truly great. 5 minutes stroll down the street to a anything you'd want in the centre. Only caveat is the parking, but even then they offer a discount to help with that.

Had a lovely quiet Monday night stay here. Really comfy room and bed. Plush and lush. Asked for an extra room heater as weather was v cold and they provided really quick. Well equipped room. Breakfast was delicious, served hot on a warmed plate. Decent coffee. Great customer service. Had a lovely GnT aim the bar too - delicious.

Such a beautiful hotel! From the moment we walked in we felt so at ease and well looked after. Every single staff member had a smile on their faces and nothing was too much trouble. Sol checked us in late in the evening and could not have been friendlier. He told us a little about the hotel and made us feel really special! The room was very large and beautifully decorated. The bathroom had a large shower and a stand alone bath (which could probably fit a whole family..). The breakfast staff was super lovely and accommodating, topping up our teas & coffees and checking up on us. When we came down for breakfast the second day, Ian remembered our hot drinks of choice and it was brought over to us before we even had a chance to ask for it. If you're looking for exceptional service in Birmingham's most beautiful hotel, this is it. The whole hotel is extremely clean, the food and drinks are delicious and the service is superb. I wish I had time to come every weekend!

We stay at this hotel 95% of the time we go to Birmingham, and have always really enjoyed ourselves. We recently went for my birthday staying on Thursday 20th July. My partner chose one of the nicer rooms which set him back a few hundred pounds (SMWS I believe was the room name). Whilst the room was lovely, unfortunately we had a horrendous nights sleep. The noise from the room above was unbearable. Every single creek could be heard, and there was also multiple bangs going on for a long while throughout the night. It’s really put us off going back which is a shame as the staff are great and the food is also amazing. I would advise to anyone staying there to avoid this room completely unless you want a terrible nights sleep!

Second time of visiting and we absolutely love this place. The staff are all super friendly, the rooms are spacious, warm and very comfortable...the beds, quilt and pillows are next level, really really nice. Bathroom is great, shower is fab, although don't expect to come out with any dry bits as this think throws water down like a rain forest! My only tiny complaint is that the door adjoining the bedrooms to the main hallway on the 2nd floor slams really hard, which was a bit if annoyance through the night. Breakfast was exceptional. Will definitely stay again.

Nice bistro/restaurant. Went here for a christmas meal with friends. The drinks took a while to be served, some got their drinks straight away while the others had to ask the waiters/waitresses for their drinks. The food also started arriving before I was served my drinks, and I had to inform the staff of the missing drink before I received it. The food was incredible! Staff were apologetic and seemed very busy, which is understandable for a Saturday. Overall decent experience.

Great place to stay. Deluxe room was huge.... worth paying the extra. Generally, very happy with stay. Only minor gripes.... minor maintenance issues. Don't understand why hotels fix shower gel etc too high up the wall & under the shower fitting. Best location is around waist height so it is easy to access and away from shower head. Service in the bar and bistro was slow. Half hour wait for cooked breakfast to be served. Otherwise, highly recommended.

First stay at Hotel du Vin. Very impressed . Staff know how to look after you. Top marks to Theo who saved me getting lost on the way to parking the car by joining me on the journey. Josh excellent in the dining room and nothing too much trouble. Lynetta really welcoming for breakfast and Fleur great in reception. All prepared to go that extra mile which makes a good hotel great. We'll be back.

Had an amazing time at Hotel Du Vin for my sister's wedding. All the staff were really friendly and helpful and the food was all delicious. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel for an event or just to stay. The rooms were luxurious and even our kids had a good time.

Probably the worst nights sleep I have ever had in a hotel. Room was freezing, two reasons, window didn't fit properly and radiator was off.so turned radiator on and the pipes started banging at 3am. Radiator back off. Then delivery trucks banging at 5am. Avoid room called Usk Valley. Breakfast etc was fine, and good location.

We are fans of HdV Birmingham having stayed before . This time was even more special. We came to see a concert and everything about the hotel made for a fabulous event. Thanks to Omar at reception and manager Fleur who went above and beyond, and the lovely young people in the bar and brasserie who were charming and enthusiastic. The room was fantastic and spacious, great dinner and lovely, relaxed breakfast. Thank you.

Jordan and his team made sure everything was perfect - the room was spotless and the service flawless. Incredible value for money as the rooms are beautifully decorated and the location is ideal for exploring the city. Thank you everyone for making our stay so memorable!

This hotel looked far better than it looked outside. It's exceptional, not like your regular hotels. You want to stay longer. The decorations, superb. it's exactly as the pictures you see online

We stayed at the Hotel Du Vin in Birmingham on March 12th and had a fantastic stay. The building is a stunning Victorian ex-hospital, and in true Hotel du Vin tradition it is beautifully appointed with ornate balustrades and classical decoration. The subdued lighting gives a lovely atmosphere. Fleur was great and helped us to get the most of our stay. Check in and check out were easy and she gave us ideas for interesting visits. The room was spacious, the bathroom well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. We had lunch in the bar and there was a delicious selection of snacks and light meals. The breakfast menu was varied. After cereals or pastries, one of our party had a whole kipper and another had boiled egg and soldiers! All in all, a fabulous stay and I look forward to our next visit

It was 10:15pm and my partner and I thought we should visit Hotel du Vin for a drink post the Covid-19 restrictions. I haven't visited Hotel du Vin before. Last Friday evening we attempted to order some drinks at the bar, but the barman (approx 5'8", brown hair with beard) advised us without any hesitation to find a place to sit and he will come to us and take our order. The bar was not overly busy. We sat for over 30 minutes waiting for the barman. At this point other people from outside attended the bar and were greeted and served. They were all white people. As we were non-white. It made me think, that we may have made the wrong choice. The barman knew we were waiting. I was very angry at his point and decided to approach the barman, but he was too bust serving a customer, but I managed to to get another the attention of another barman. I made it clear to him of my anger and your colleague deliberately ignored us. There was no excuse as the bar was not busy. He can't have just forgotten about us. He intentionally wanted to forget about us. It was as if he didn't want to be at work. We have decided not to ever attend Hotel du Vin and we will be vocal in our poor and awful experience to friends and family.

Lovely old hotel in an unbeatable location. Perfect for shopping, dining out and exploring the bars and pubs plus easy walk to the station. We had a couple of issues with our room that were dealt with well.

Always a pleasure staying at your hotel. My 5th visit and this time with my teenage daughter. Thanks to Omar on the front desk, we received a beautiful upgrade on the room type. Unfortunately we did not have time to visit the bistro or spa, but I will be back.

Excellent stay at Freixenet room 21/22 of April. Great service from lady at the reception, bar staff and lady serving us breakfast in the morning. Room was huge and really nice, plenty of space and comfortable bed. Very quiet and bathtub was lovely. Great place to visit Eryk F

Very pleasant and helpful staff, I stay quite often and I have always had a great experience and felt very much a valued customer. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable in addition to great service from the bar and restaurant staff. I would like to give a special thanks to Fleur at reception and Lewis in the bar who have always gone above and beyond to ensure my stay is perfect.

I had some issues with aircon and a leaking shower on checking in, but the staff did all they could to help me resolve this with friendly professional service. The decor felt luxurious without being overly 'in your face' and the blackout curtains were incredibly effective. And, the breakfast was wonderful. A note that the rooms are stationed around a courtyard, and there are no numbers - only names - so it took a little getting used to finding my way to and from reception. Great location for Birmingham City centre, about ten minutes walk from the Bull Ring.

A lovely old hotel, which used to be the Birmingham Eye Hospital. The welcome to the hotel was lovely and the staff on reception were very friendly. Our room on the first floor could be accessed via the grand stair case in the lobby or a (very) cosy lift. We were staying in one of the junior suites, which was impressive in it's size, but lacked a little bit of the style and decor that you'd expect from a suite. The bed was huge, but also very very comfy. The bathroom had a large walk in shower, plus a roll top bath. It felt luxurious, but unfortunately a little bit dated with some of the marks on the walls and cracked tiles. Just a little spruce up would do it the world of good. The location was good, just 5 minutes walk to the cathedral and then through to New Street. I would probably stay here again.

Absolutely brilliant service from start to finish. We had an awesome upgrade from the lovely Thibault who made our celebration even more perfect. Every member of staff we encountered was polite and courteous and couldn't do enough for us. The bed was super comfy and the monsoon shower was awesome. We'll be back!

Booked for a business function for around 50. The [ itself seemed nice and had a very dramatic entrance. From then it went south. Lack of staff to serve, and the food was great. Clearly not ready for this booking. Only saving grace is that they eventually recovered on the bar and let us have a very loud quiz!

I couldn't give more than 4* because I didn't stay here I attended a birthday dinner. The dinner was special because the staff looked after us everything was top notch food was delightful they even opened up the bar for us had a lovely evening. There are steps to this hotel call to see if there's an accessible entrance there's no carpark but street parking is available at a cost the closest carpark is Snow hill you have access to Trains and Metro there, this car park is free for blue badge holders no restriction. My experience was more than average if I actually stayed here I believe the experience would be great.

From the sincere helpfulness throughout, the polite smiles and service, the cleanliness throughout it was a perfect stay. The room, was very trendy and clean. Location was great. Want to thank Arron and the team for going one step to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

Very comfortable stay. Large room although lighting in the huge bathroom needed to be brighter to help with shaving. Shower in the bath was particularly good and gave you a huge amount of water. In tge bar they only serve bottled beer. Would I stay again? Absolutely yes.

Great hotel in centre of Birmingham near to lots of attractions and good eating establishments. Room was cosy and equipped to a high standard. Huge bathroom and perfectly comfortable bed. All of the staff were really friendly especially the lady who served us at breakfast. We also received a complimentary glass of champagne to celebrate my partners birthday. Couldn't fault any of it.
