We went there for afternoon tea set without knowing it needs pre-booking. So we tried the lunch set. Glad that the food was good and overall atmosphere was pleasant. The only downside was we were sitting right next to the door and every time people walk past, the floor make loud noise and table shake a bit.

Very simple, unpretentious, nice and pleasant restaurant that serves traditional french cuisine with some surprising dish such as the Khmer vegetable curry. The location on the canal is really pretty and the bay windows provide a nice 180° sightseeing. The fritot de brie and boeuf bourguignon were really good and the tarte au citron was delicious. Social distancing and health and safety measures are implemented and also perspex panels are installed between tables

What a lovely restaurant! Beautiful setting, faultless service and wonderful food. The chocolate brownie was the best I've ever had and the sticky toffee pudding wasn't far behind either. The 3 courses for £14.95 menu is amazing value with plenty of choice too. Highly recommended and will be heading back again soon 😋

Great food and a lovely building/atmosphere. The service was a little slow with our wine arriving after we had finished the mains. It also took a while to receive/pay the bill.

What a fantastic restaurant. Every element of the experience was outstanding, this is a must visit if you are in the area. I can't wait to return and the six hour round trip won't deter me. Thank you. The first time I've completely eaten a four course meal

Food was gorgeous but relatively slow serving, although it was busy and on the plus side it gave us more drinking time, so we didn't feel rushed at all. Had afternoon tea and given choice of sitting inside or out. Would like to go back for a main meal at some point. Nice atmosphere. Good view of canal on terrace

Good value for set menu from12-6. But the steak and frites was really tough, don’t order it. The beef Bourguignon wasn’t soft ether. They have good activity book for kid to keep them busy.

Amazing dinner in Pierre! Staff was welcoming, kind and professional. Food was very good and generous. I had the feeling of being back to France. Last but not least prices are not expensive at all.

Tried the beef bourguignon and the pork belly and they both were lovely. Well presented and good flavours. I would only comment that compared to all other restaurants I have eaten at, the pork belly piece was small. Service was very friendly. Prices are reasonable. Update on a recent visit in 2023 on a quiet weekday. The service was so slow,my friends and I waited over and hour and half for our food with no apology or explanation on the delay . What irked me more was the pretence and attitude at the front desk when we did a walk in with no reservation on how busy the restaurant was when clearly there were soo many empty tables.

Amazing service and completely safe with covid restrictions. The waiter who looked after us was very efficient without being pushy We were in a small booth area. Food was superb. There were 3 in our group and each one of us loved our choices. We would definitely go again and would recommend to all. Great location too.

We visited for dinner. Everything was amazing. The service is really good, the food was very tasty. We ordered 3 small plates for £11 and had the chorizo in honey, hummus and the croquettes. All of them were really good and between 2 people that’s a great starter. I trued the duck leg and it tasted amazing. The meat was very tender and it was on a bed of lentils and other veg that were also really good. I also tried the Creme brûlée and it was one of the best I’ve tried. Also they still have the Eat out to Help out discount throughout October, so it’s a great value for money!

Beautiful scallops starter (in the most delicious butter/boil which the proper French baguette mopped up a treat) followed by Boeuf Bourguignon - rich sauce and tasty meat which melted in the mouth - all washed down with a Tanqueray, bottle of dry fizz and Perrier. The team couldn't have been more attentive. All Covid-19 safe (check in, alcohol rub and asked me so politely to don my mask when i forgot as I was enjoying myself so much). Felt like old times.

Had an amazing meal at Bistrot Pierre Birmingham. We had our toddler with us and they made sure to get her meal out with our starters which was amazing as she was hungry. The food was delicious and the service great. We can't wait to go back!

Decent price, quality good (I loved more the started than the main though). Drinks fantastic. I my point down they took up to 1:20hr to get our main dishes to us 😩😕

Excellent place to go to eat, from the variety of well priced food and drinks on the menu to the friendly and well informed staff. Great night was had my all before the lockdown again.

Overall the afternoon tea expereinece was good. There was some initial confusion about our reservation although we had a booking the staff member was clueless for some reason. The baguettes were a different alternative to the regular sandwiches for afternoon tea, however they were very dry and hard. The French patisseries were delicious and fresh. The customer service was excellent.

Easy to book on line. Warm welcome. Afternoon tea was super will definitely visit again maybe try lunch at some time.

Fantastic service from the Bistro team last night. We were initially served by Mel and then later by Rakhib and Lizzie. From the friendly smile at the door to the banter and recommendations from the team it was a lovely dinner with my partner from start to finish. Despite the teams in restaurants having to wear a facemask it was still service with a smile. Great work guys, keep it up 😊

Have visited this nice restaurant on Gas Street before. Had a corner table for 4. The Menu had a good choice of options, all of us had starters my partner had the salmon and I had the Beef Bourguignon for mains which were nicely prepared and enjoyed. The pre-fixe menu is particularly excellent value. The decor has that french connection feel too with pictures and photos of Paris etc. Would visit again.

Food was tasty but the portions are very small, so it’s not a very good value for money. The service was not great.

Went with friends for a birthday celebration. We all enjoyed our meals. The one vegetarian who was with us commented that it would be nice if there were more vegetarian options on the menu, but I personally think four is quite good.

Good little bistro bar. Reasonably priced. Shame more cocktails weren't on the 2 for £12 offer.

  • 2/5 John B. 5 months ago on Google
Very disappointed. Had Mushroom starter, which was on soggy bread and didn’t taste good at all. Rump steak main course was of poor quality, too tough and was well done , not medium as requested . For what we spent (£33 per head ) , I expected better quality food.

Chose of the lunch time menu. Mine was nice for the price (fish cake nicoise with squid to start). Went with a group of people and we'd been asked to pre-order, but it still took a long while for food to come out even tho not that busy. Service was good and staff friendly. Nice location overlooking the canal. Will definitely come back

Doing well during the pandemic. Booking advised on a Sunday. Delicious Sunday roast, stp to die for, the prix fixe menu is excellent value for money. Fascinating view of Gas Street Basin from the street level dining area. Good food, rapid service. Check out the soiree gastronomique.

The place looks amazing but in terms of food is nothing I could recommend. It's not bad, but doesn't match the place and price, specially don't go for steaks.

  • 5/5 Joanne B. 3 years ago on Google
The risotto starter is delicious and the creamed spinach deserves a special mention but all of our courses were top notch will definitely be booking a return visit

Did a big work lunch here not so long ago, friendly staff though service wasn't great and food was decent if nothing special, though nice interior and location on the water.

  • 3/5 Alicia N. 3 years ago on Google
Mediocre food - the fillet of beef was tough even though I ordered medium rare. I expect this isn't their normal standard given we attended at lunchtime on one of the eat out to help out days. Pleasant staff though.

Very disappointed. Waitress was not very friendly, quite spikey. Food was bland and nothing special, my wife's potatoes looked and tasted microwaved. Prices are average same as the food. Wouldn't come back. The beer was nice.......
