👍👍 A truly fabulous experience. I shared a vegetarian platter which was so utterly flavourful and delicious. From the moment we stepped through the door we were greeted so warmly, and the friendly atmosphere continued throughout the meal. I can’t wait to come back! Great to see Savannah back open and still the lovely same food as before. Worth trying even if you've never had Ethiopian/Eritrean food before....makes a great change from the usual boring options

I'm a huge fan of Ethiopian food and Savanna definitely doesn't disappoint. We shared the platter and the injera base was a great way of serving the various dishes. There's no cutlery but the delicate flavour combinations make it finger licking good

Very pleasant serving staff but portions were disappointing. We ordered the platter for three with a starter and everyone was still hungry afterwards. The injera needs some work too. It lacked the sour and more fermented flavour that can be experienced at other restaurants. Red lentils lacked false cardamom flavour and were not very flavoursome. Perhaps this is meant to be Anglicized Ethiopian food but it is important to realise that many customers in the UK actually love spicy and flavoursome food.

Absolutely amazing restaurant! Can't fault it. The service is top tier 10 stars, anything we requested it was sorted efficiently. The food is delicious, deserves another 10 stars. The decor and atmosphere is amazing too. Thank you so much! We had a lovely time. We will definitely be coming back.

So glad that we came here for dinner before lockdown; the food is so tasty that we ordered the same thing twice! :) The injeera is 100% here unlike some places that cut corners and don't put a lot of teff in the mixture, the vegetable and meat dishes were beautifully seasoned. This family run restaurant really deserves you to come and try it for yourself as it is the complete package; great food, friendly service, lovely music and a relaxed atmosphere. If you have not tried Eritrean or Ethiopian food you must come and try it here as you'll leave happy and satisfied. Definitely try the platters as they are the best way to get acquainted with the rich, sweet, tangy and sour flavours of Ethiopian food!! Can't wait to to come back!

A first time visit and would recommend. We chose to eat with fingers, the traditional way, but not compulsory. Good range of food for vegetarians.

This place was open on Sat 9 Apr when I called in to book for Mon 11 Apr. By Monday it was closed down and gutted inside. It would have been polite to have declined the reservation, then three people would not have had a futile journey. What is wrong with these people?

Absolutely wonderful evening, my first visit to this fabulous restaurant and certainly will not be the last. I called for takeaway orders, advised to visit as I am five minutes away. The phone conversation was very professional the staff member were very pleasant. Despite my late arrival they took my orders with smiles. The food was fantastically delicious. I have no hesitation in recommending Savanna restaurant for anyone visiting Birmingham. Excellent food service experience at its best. Thank you!

Delicious food! We got the platter and it was perfect for trying a bunch of different flavors. Our server was really nice and knowledgeable. It's more upscale decor, so a great place for a date night or special occasion.

Wanting to to try something different, me and my girlfriend visited savanna whilst in Birmingham, the very polite waitress suggested a sharing platter which I can only describe as fantastic, the injera was amazing , I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area. Service is an 11/10 as is the food. Want to thank the staff for the excellent service and bringing a cuisine which isn't readily available .

Ethiopian restaurant in the Birmingham city centre. We had the injera platter and it was delicious, the food was so aromatic! The service was amazing as well, the waitress was very warm and gave us suggestions and helpful context as it was the first time we'd tried Ethiopian food. We will definitely be coming back for more!

We arrived late and not only did they accommodate us but they were really friendly. We had the Vegetarian Platter and it was excellent. Ironic that the best food in Birmingham may be from Africa!

I love it here. We had the Mixed Platter! Great Food, Fantastic service, Devorah remembered us from last time and she makes the whole dinning experience a 10/10 for us. Will recommend to everyone.

Wonderful dinner at the Savanna. The food was delicious (we tried the mixed platter), the Tej a great new discovery, and most of all the personnel was extremely kind and helpful in explaining the dishes and drinks. Definitely gonna return!

Dunno what to say apart from the fact that I am utterly disappointed. No phone number, website is practically non functional, Google says 'open' but both times we visited the place it was closed. The photos and positive reviews online look so amazing, it is a shame really that we never got to try out this place.

Savanna does delicious eritrean food and are kind and helpful. We enjoyed the injira bread type pancakes. The service was great and the red wine we had was good.

The new Savanna menu has most definitely upgraded! The starters were absolutely flavoursome and the Awaze Wings were AMAZING !! This has got to be the best Ethiopian restaurant I have ever been too. I 1000% recommend this place. Food - 10/10 Cocktails- 10/10 Customer service- 100/10

I have been coming to savanna for a few years now, the food and atmosphere has always been fantastic but now they have refurbished I have never seen or experienced an Eritrean restaraunt like this. The food has been taken to another level and they have now made the restaraunt into a cocktail bar too which topped it off for me. If you are ever in Birmingham you need to try Savanna (my favourite is the mix of vegetable and meat dished platter), you will not be disappointed at all.

When we went to Savanna, there was just one person serving the whole restaurant and two in the kitchen, so service was very slow. We waited over an hour for starters and then one order had been forgotten. A long wait again for mains and then coffee. Good food as long as you don't mind trying something different. Six of us went for my son's birthday, my son would go back, I would not. Definitely do not go if you are in a hurry!

I always have a fabulous experience when I dine here, Savanna is (hands down) the best restaurant in Birmingham, in my opinion. The service is outstanding and the lovely lady that served us couldn’t have been more welcoming or helpful; she’s fantastic. The food is sublime, full of flavour and very moreish! I can’t wait for my next visit.

We really enjoyed our visit here! The staff were welcoming and friendly We shared the veggie platter for two, which consisted of 3 delicious vegetable dishes and a salad, served with lots of lovely injera. The bread is wonderful, so light and tasty. We also enjoyed the Ethiopian beer. I will definitely return to taste some of their other dishes too.

I have never ate this type of cuisine before because I would describe myself as a fussy eater, but the food here was honestly just mouth watering. There was no fault whatsoever and all the staff had catered for mine and my childrens needs. They had made my visit to the restaurant worth it as i did travel from Wolverhampton to try it. They had also interacted with us which is quite rare nowadays! Thank You again Savanna Restaurant !!!

To be honest if you are at the begining of your relationship and going for dating or dining out, it would be the most wrong choice. As it was on Saturday night, it takes about an hour and half to being served by main course. However the staff were attentive and nice. The second was eating with fingers! Well couldn't blame as we are not familiar with some cultures. By the way it was my unfortune experience and didn't like it. Almost my dating didnt goes well. Savana you've brought me a heavy heart breaking:-)

I ordered Lamb they sent me Beef it had no chillies, olive oil or onions , and salad did not come with it as stated on the menu. It was late and my meal looked like dog food.. I want my money back £30.75 as the meals were also minute and poor. Not Reccomended
