Outstanding customer service I normally wouldn’t start a review like that however it is the headline. They had been an incident so traffic was delayed so my wife rang ahead to say we might be a bit late it was a Friday evening when the heavens have just opened. Monsoon weather in the middle of summer. From the moment we got their you the staff was very pleasant and even delayed the closing so they could accommodate a few of the late comers on another table so if you’re ever in Birmingham I would highly recommend a visit

Visited for a quick late lunch . When we arrived the service was really slow with just the manager on the shopfloor . We were seated and left over 20 minutes before we were able to order due to him being on his own . Shortly after ordering another guy came om shift. Our starters came which were tasty. I had the mushroom on bruschetta which was lovely and had me looking forward to my main After another long wait our mains came. Very dissapointing. As you can see from the pic , my friends steak was a dry slab of meat . The menu stated that my chicken dish came with mushrooms. I enquired with the waiter who went back to the chef , returned and told me that it actually meant mushrooms sauce - contrary to the menus description. Not to mention anyone who likes mushrooms will know they have a very distinctive taste. There was certainly no mushrooms sauce in the dish at all. The chicken was plain and dry swimming on a bed of bland liquid and huge amount of onions. The best part of the meal was my overpriced baileys latte- delicious

Food is expensive for the quality and amount you get. £8.50 for a full English and it's the size of a kids breakfast if that. Very disappointed. Orange juice had ice in and wasn't asked if I wanted any in it. Definitely not worth the money .

Nice place, popped in for dessert and had a coffee and a tea. Both were nice. Also ordered a creme brulee and a chocolate fondant which were both lovely. Update-------- I went back to Cafe Rouge just yesterday and ordered the creme brulee and chocolate fondant again and they were just as lovely. Also ordered a pot of tea to wash things down. Very nice place with a quaint atmosphere and accommodating staff.

Very nice place. We ordered a cappuccino and a vegetarian breakfast, it was very tasty! The waiters are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxing.

French Cuisine at the best. Had a quick lunch at Rouge Bullring Birmingham.. Was in a rush, so went for Beef Bourguignon and herb infused mash on the side along with a glass of Lillet Rose Spritz. The food was delicious and will go again to explore more..

Very nice. Busy but didn't have to wait for a table. Service was excellent. Food was very good but lacked bit of extras ie bit of side salad on chicken n chips, with the steak or with the burger. I thought it was a bit expensive but it is the centre of Birmingham. We had the set menu but you have to pay £5 extra for the steak.

Just happened to pop in for breakfast and everything was lovely, good atmosphere all the food was cooked perfectly with good portions and well priced. The highlight of the experience was our waitress Irina , she was funny and attentive and really made both mine and my friends day. ❤️

Went on a Saturday quite busy. You can reserve a table . Went in the afternoon. Food was lovely but no veg with meals . Service was great but didn’t get my coffee order right first time . Food good . You can eat upstairs too. Toilets clean and well decorated. . ££. Location just outside Bullring . Yeah would go again but not the biggest of menus for choice Do an to offer a two or three course meal.

Arrived at 10.35 today sat 3rd December. Ordered drinks and breakfast at 10.40. Drinks took 10 minutes. Breakfast arrived at 11.20. Only after we told the waitress that we had to go and to cancel the order. No apology from waitress. Breakfast , see photo .I hadn't realised there was a bacon shortage. Food was OK. Sausage was poor. Would I go there again .NO. Would I go to another Cafe Rouge. No. Other diners were also leaving as even ordering was slow. My advice if you're near there, go th Bill's.

A superb experience with top class professional service everytime. This cafe rouge is without doubt the best I have ever been to. I have been many times now and every time without fail I experience great food and great service. Nicole and Robyn are masters at making your visit special, as are all the staff there. A warm welcome upon arrival accompanied by an attentive service makes you feel like a very valued customer. Just as it should be. They all work extremely hard to make their customers experience the very best it can be and are relentless in their pursuit of this. So dedicated to what they do and so appreciated by me and my family. Thank you Cafe Rouge, you are fantastic!

It was ok.

Went the other day for a quick coffee break and ordered a single espresso, when they brought it looked like it was leftover reheated coffee or probably they are trying to save a couple of £ by serving 2 coffees from 1. I asked to be served what I actually ordered and the new one was brought in a dirty cup without even a spoon. (The coffee stains were dried on the mug from) Worst coffee experience, completely disappointed as at the end is just coffee, nothing too complicated to prepare. And the dirty cup completely disrespectful on behalf of their customers. With all the viruses going on it's the last thing anyone would like to experience!

Amazing place to eat. Was eating with my daughter. Absolutely tasty food, great staff and service. Very friendly. I had a fish - absolutely love it, my daughter had a starter - garlic bread, main mash potatoes with sausages , gravy and veg - as the dessert had a chocolate brownie with ice cream. Fabulous place and food. Highly recommend 🥰

Delicious food, friendly staff, but waited too long till the food was served

I know after the fact that this is a French restaurant and I probably shouldn’t have ordered a Full English Breakfast here, but this was so disappointing at the time. I expected the tomato to be grilled, the hash browns to be bigger pieces and may be a lot more baked beans than this. When I told the wait staff about the portions being a bit small, they suggested that I order the Grand Breakfast instead… very sorely disappointed.

the service and appearance of the restaurant was amazing! my food however was appalling i ordered the pancake stack with berries and berry compote and was extremely disappointed with what i was served… the fruits were not ripe and the pancakes themselves were tough and really difficult to cut into… i was unable to eat my food and had my appetite ruined to be honest.. my friends portion sizes for the full english were stingy too

Had a lovely lunch, which was served by a friendly, smiling waitress. Rhian couldn't do enough. She certainly was a credit to the restaurant. The food was served quickly and was hot. French Onion soup / Garlic mushrooms followed by a steak baguette. All in all, a "Top Notch" experience.

The perfect place to spend a wet afternoon with the family celebrating an early mothers day! Superb service from Irina and the team - thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! We used to visit a lot though times change and it's more difficult to get out and about though as a treat for mom we came back to our old haunt and it didn't disappoint at all! We had a lovely afternoon and mom was spoilt and very happy to be back! Thanks to all!

Stayed in Birmingham for 4 days and had breakfast here twice and a cocktail. It was amazing and the outdoor area is so nice

Got in for a bite as we was in this Caffe few years ago and that time food was excellent but unfortunately not this time, So we had a seats outside, little table for two, Mrs, was waiting for service aroun 10 min, it is a long delay in a waiter service. Ordered two coffees, creme brulleu (lol, the cream portion was less than a half inch deep) and some chocolate pudding (that was good but inside felt noticeable cheap choco sirup), coffee arrived in 5 min after an order, seats outside, windy, cold and dessert we have received only ten minutes later after a coffee, for this time coffee already become cold. Why not a deserts brought first?

Glad this place is still open, with so many restaurants closed it's good to be able to go to Café Rouge and have a proper meal.

I have crossed this restaurant so many times now but never went in before today when my friend invited me. Because the food is not halal, I wasn't sure what to expect. But I discovered I could choose a variety of dishes that I could still eat! I will definitely look forward to visiting again soon! Today I had the sweet potato frites from the sides menu which was as best as you would expect. I also tried my first ever crème brulé and it was delish!

We came in today for a late lunch. We hadn't booked but this was no problem. Our details were taken and we were seated. I have to say the food and service was amazing. We felt relaxed but also felt safe with all Covid restrictions. Well done to Cafe Rouge and all the team who are struggling in these uncertain times. We will be back again.

Came here for a date night, it was a gift from a friend. We had a lovely evening and the food was great I’m very picky but found food to suit me. We both enjoyed our time at cafe Rouge. Staff are friendly and helpful. 😊

The Cafe Rouge management are openly flouting the Tier 2 rules. Quite clearly when asked why 8 Rumanians were breaking the covid rules they simply said what can we do whilst 8 people congregated and coukdnt care less about the virus tiles whatsoever. This just shows that its money money money only for places like this and the sooner they are shut down the better. Feeling inco.firtable in this place is an understatement and if you fear catching covid 19 then this place appears to be a magnet for infection. Pkease stay well clear for the sake of your health. I do apologise to Cafe Rouge for such a terrible review however in being frank about my experience here it was absolutely appaulingly disgusting.

Been there once but the service was superb.

I’ve been here twice and both times have been absolutely lovely. The food is lovely and the service is brilliant. The new manager Thamir has fantastic customer service skills. Each time I have been here he’s given me great 5 star service. He’s extremely polite, caring and professional. I would definitely recommend the cafe rough in Birmingham bullring. Will be returning. It felt slightly grubby. The staff seemed friendly enough but were often busy in conversation with each other with their backs to the seating areas so it was difficult to get their attention at times. I ordered a vegetarian breakfast but left most of it on the plate as it was quite watery.

Made to feel extremely welcome the moment we walked in. All the staff were freindly and very attentive. Food was adverage price and fresh home cooked. Portions were perfect for me and my mum. Brilliant resting place for a beverage and bite to eat whilst exploring and shopping at the bullring. Second time visiting and will be returning.
