First time I went to Al Faisals with family. Food was nice, I was expecting that food was a little more desi as this restaurant is at the heart of Asian community. Definitely go back again when I am in Birmingham next time. Love 💕 the sweet lassi, Definitely recommend it

*Update* 2023 Eid ul Fitr. I've dined here a handful of times. I'd say circa 2006, 2013, 2017 and 2023. The restaurant is very comfortable for dining in, great atmosphere and very expansive. Almost anywhere you're seated, it feels premium. The servers have always been friendly and exceptional service right to the end as you're leaving the premises. We were a group of 16+ with children of all ages present. The servers engaged with them, helped to return them to their seats when they wandered off and kept them engaged. They changed our cutlery midway after starters and provided complimentary gifts of sweets (mithai) at the end. Nonetheless, the 2 star rating is simply down to the food itself. We ordered mixed grills, lamb chops, chicken wings, fries, chaat bombs, naan, rotis, 1KG Chicken Karahi on the 🍗. We specifically asked for very spicy food, especially the Karahi as it's always made fresh to order. Unfortunately, not a single item had any spice. The flavour was not spectacular and incredibly disappointing. If you're going to cater to the South Asian community especially, it has to be spicy! All over Ladypool road, the food is fiery as this is the demand. It's a shame, as all the food is prepared piping hot and fresh, looks great, unbelievable atmosphere, free parking with great restroom facilities. They just need to add spice to their food. I can understand low spice but *zero spice* is criminal.

Just had a delicious balti meal here. The best poppadoms and pickles ever and a delicious paneer Makhani and garlic naan bread.

We were greeted with papadoms and a variety of sauces including chutney, mango, pickled achaar. The large mix grill had a variety of meat with kebab, chicken, wings and lamb chops which were tasty. Tried the lamb karahi, chicken karahi and ghoust saag. All curries were flavourful with a decent amount of spice, which I enjoyed as it was a good level of spice for me personally. If you are a fan of spicy spicy food, this probably won’t hit the spot. Best naans I have ever had! Recommend opting for these. They are amazingly soft. I loved the mango lassi, sweetness to compliment my meal. Chips were over fried. Beautiful interior, clean toilets and good customer service.

This restaurant was recommended by a friend of mine and it was one of the best Indian / kashmiri food experiences I’ve had. Honestly, the service was excellent, food was delicious and good value for money. The staff were approachable and friendly. Highly recommended. Definitely will be back soon.

Came here with family.Ordered lamb curry..didn't even taste like lamb..curry was really runny and it actually stank(don't know if they mixed it with something or what but no). Also ordered fries and they stank..god knows what oil they fried it in. Went disabled toilet and the whole place sounded like it was going to blow up any minute(very very dangerous)all you hear is a loud bang bang bang from the pipes..so scary. Overall food was terrible.Would never come back to this place. If you are paying this kind of price you want something decent..not horrible smell coming from it or something that tastes totally different to what you order. My fault for coming here.Just warning others. You are better off walking out and going down the road to Roscoe's.

Went for a lunch. Asked the waiter for recommendations, for their specialities and was advised to take kali mirchi karahi so took this and chops for a starter. We were served pappadams with sauces, unfortunately my poppadom was taken back by the waiter before I could finish it. Food arrived super fast which in this case wasn't a good thing... Chops were pre cooked (taste like boiled a day earlier), covered in a strange powdered taste like masala. Black pepper mutton wasn't very impressive, consistency and taste like cooked by amateur chief. Very disappointing as if it was recommend as a house special so should have that wow factor but it looks like it was recommended based on what they had leftover from the night before and just need to get rid off. We couldn't finish that small portion of mutton and had to take half home - after 2 days still have that box in the fridge as no one feel tempted or hungry enough to eat it... Room was very cold with AC full on blasting. Overall I'm quite confident we were served a leftovers from a previous day, except naans that were the only fresh items on the table . At this point I don't think we will go back there again .

The compliment starters were nice. The staff was polite. Nice service. The food was okay too. The green tea was served in pretty little cups. The itself was lovely.

Firstly, I want to start off by saying that the staff were extremely friendly and made us feel welcome. Excellent service. One staff member took the time to talk to me as I was waiting for my associate to turn up. The atmosphere was brilliant. Beautiful interior and very clean too. Food was delicious, menu items were explained what they were. Ample space for parking so had no issues, considering it's on the main road. They also cater for parties. All in all, had a great experience and would definitely be going again.

Overrated and overpriced, 1kg lamb 1kg chicken curry came with a very small amount of meat and poultry which costed an arm and a leg. Genuinely the quality was not very good alot of room for improvement. Service was an upside however for certain servers others were at times rude.

Great food, though the whole chicken was extraordinary dry. Probably a day or two cold, or maybe left on the grill for a tad too long. Food arrived in a timely manner. Servers were mindful and helpful! Al-Faisal's is our go-to place for a decent sit-down meal, and usually never a disappointment. Advice - take the whole chicken off of the menu. And.... What's with the 10% service charge? This is Sparkhill/Balsall Heath, not Knightsbridge!! A little pricey but enjoyable.

Food was a decent munch, the price was certainly for what it was worth and I was overall satisfied with it. The interior definitely has room for improvement, this place has potential to level up and really pop out in its location. Overall a 6 not bad at all buddy

This was my first “eat out” curry back in 1982. I have been an infrequent visitor since - mainly as I live far away. The next generation of the family have taken the restaurant to the next level - still true to its roots but up-to-date. Great lunch and food had a Desi kick delicious 😋

My husband and I shared a meal today and I’ve got to say from the time we entered to the time we left the service was outstanding. The starters we order tasted delicious and we didn’t get the normal onion and a few green leaf salad that most restaurants give but a full salad and a decent size too which you’d have to pay for in most other restaurants. The staff were helpful and changed the rice I order as it was a little too hard for my stomach. Once I explained my problem they made me a softer version and came round a number of times to make sure that I was okay. It is definitely worth trying this restaurant as you won’t be let down.

We have been going to this restaurant for over 15 years and the food has always been fantastic. On a few occasions, the service wasn't great, but today, the service was outsanding. The staff were amazing. They went above and beyond for us, and the food excellent as always. Thank you for making us feel special.

In the middle of Birmingham, this restaurant is a true gem. Inside, the area is spacious both upstairs and down. The chefs are more than willing to go the extra mile to make dishes not on the menu (most appreciated, thank you,) and the waiting staff are efficient and unobtrusive. Parking is opposite with plenty of spaces. I love curry and this establishment is in my top two. We went early in the evening when it was quiet, but it started to fill up as we were leaving.
