Authentic American-style diner that is clearly very popular. When my partner and I visited yesterday (Saturday), we were told by staff upon arrival that there would be up to a 20 minute wait for a table, which gave us time to browse the delights of Selfridges (the location of the diner). After about 15 minutes, my partner received a message on her phone informing us that a table was now free. When we arrived, we were seated in an end booth that had protective screens up, so we felt very safe. I could tell almost as soon as our order arrived why Ed's is such a popular place to eat, as the deluxe milkshake I had chosen was extremely tasty, and the chicken burger was by far the best I have ever tasted. We would have eaten dessert too, had we not been so full from our main course! The servers were friendly and accommodating to our needs, so much so that I wanted to leave a substantial tip but unfortunately had no cash on me. I will leave a bigger tip the next time I dine there, which is bound to be very soon. Thanks, Ed's Easy Diner!

Massively disappointed with this place. Although everybody is nice; and the decor is nicely themed; both our sides were forgotten about until we asked for them as were the dips for the onion rings. I ordered a Biscoff milkshake and it came with no cream or it biscuit in it; actually I’m not sure what made it Biscoff based at all; I was expecting it to look similar in style as the Oreo milkshakes which actually looked like American themed Milkshakes! The quality of the food isn’t great.The burger was forgettable; onion rings soggy (too much oil no crisp) and fries needed to be salted. As they had ran out of hand wipes we were given blue roll to clean our hands with; which pretty much summed up how poor this place seems to be running.

When we arrived we didn't wait long at all to be seen to and got a table very quick. We were served by Lucy who was wonderful. I got to have a vegan shake and burger with vegan loaded fries, my boyfriend got mudpie shake. Lucy did a check back and was overall very professional.

Outstanding service. Brilliant American style restaurant. The fries were amazing. Milkshakes were served in very unique cups. Staff were so friendly, kind and hard working. We were asked twice if everything was okay which shows how much the staff care about their service. I am very happy with my experience here and will definitely not hesitate to visit here again. 🌟

Good atmosphere, great staff, the food portions were absolutely massive. Could not beleive how big the burger was, was worth the money. Would recommend.

When I had burgers here last time (I don't remember when it was, may be a year ago) the patties were 2 times thicker in size but now they are like mcdonald's burgers, I am really disappointed. The chicken burger is likewise. Why every thing is going bad in this world? The sausages was ok at least.

We paid an impromptu visit to the Selfridges branch at lunch time today and we had such a good meal I thought I would email. Firstly I apologise for not getting the names of any of the staff - from the outside the atmosphere felt nice, and we were very well greeted by the manager(male in green shirt). After being seated at the table the waitress made sure our order was taken promptly, whilst also clearly enjoying her job and giving us a positive vibe. This continued throughout the meal, with evry single staff member giving great, attentive service, with a smile. On the way out, I spoke to the manager and expressed our gratitude for the great service experience, and the good food. I also said that a good team comes from good leadership, which I think he understood correctly as being directed at himself. In what are tough times for recruitment, service standards and pressures of recovery, this Ed's Diner stands out a mile. Well worth a visit

Love Ed's Easy Diner, wish there was a local one where I live. Their waffle fries are really tasty, and their milkshakes are a perfect mix of thick and smooth! Nice and creamy too. Seemed a bit busy when I went, very small like the other restaurants in Selfridges, but staff were friendly.

Horrible service, I had my sister and her partner over to visit me in England and took her to Ed's for her last meal with us, my god was I disappointed. We sat down as usual, took a while to order but we managed to eventually, our food came down and there was a huge hair in my partners salad, we mentioned it and they said they will get it sorted, buy the time they had "got it sorted" we had finished ours and she no longer wanted it because my sister had to get a flight back, so the waiter said, well what do you want us to do, put it in the bin, with an attitude, then said I can put it in a take away bag, which was of no use to us because we had other plans. We also got ONE refillable drink each for two people, we had to shout across the tables to get the waiters attention because he hadn't once come over to us to ask if everything was okay. They took two cups from the table and it had straws in them, the drink came back with the same straw in them, didn't bother to get us new cups or straws, I asked are these the same cups because the straws are used, he replied, I can change the straws if you want, the problem was the hygiene behind it, the waiter mixed up the cups! All in all a terrible experience.

My favourite place to eat out by far. The best burgers and chicken burgers by far, easily better than the tasteless ones five guys sell! And can’t even compare to macdonalds, these are made to order real burgers, and the fries and lovely too, nice and crisp on the outside and soft in the middle. The milkshakes are superb too. It’s not as cheap as somewhere like macdonalds, but then the quality of the food is way higher so I don’t mind paying extra for it. Plus the service is very good and staff are friendly too, waiting times are ok too. If you like burgers then you HAVE to try Ed’s Diner

Food doesnt reach the standard of decent diner, Everything is testless and my 10 peices of chicken wings got to be the worst chicken wings I ever had very dry and way too salty for me to finished them total waste of money when food is that bad £78 for 4 you would get better burger in Mcdonald so will be only first and last time for me, sorry🤨!!!

The vegetarian nachos and vanilla milkshake go hand-in-hand: the perfect, quick snack. This was my first visit and I'm excited to try the other veggie options in the near future! I also loved the retro American diner feel to the place.

Came for lunch whilst visiting the Bullring. Service was prompt and the food was very tasty. We both had burger n fries which didn't last long. Never been to Ed's before but would definitely come again.

We come here quite often when in Birmingham it's a firm favourite. Popped in for lunch today a young waiter (James) made our experience more enjoyable, very friendly, chatty, couldn't do enough for us. Quick service and beautiful food excellent value for money! Of course we will be back again and again

I visited on 13.7.23 and had a very pleasant experience, I always enjoy my experience when I visit here. On this occasion I ordered The Veggie Hotdog, I asked for no Ketchup, Just mustard. However when the food was delivered it had ketchup but not mustard. I looked for out waiter and told him of our issue. He was very apologetic and quickly changed it over for us. Once we were done with our food after it was corrected (Delicious btw). He was apologising again and was very nice, he also spoke about the other Veggie/Vegan options just incase we wanted desert and so on so forth. Despite the original error he made our experience great and I felt that any concerns we would have had he would have looked after us and provided the best experience possible, great guy and a credit to your business, I believe his name was "Fil".

my servers name was James, he was an amazing server who was constantly full of happiness and joy, he always stopped at every moment whether we requested a drink and a bill, he also left a little note wishing us a good day and hoping we enjoyed our food, we definitely did but James made it 10x better.

My friend and I really enjoyed our visit to Ed’s in Birmingham today. Jay was friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. A large party came in as we were enjoying our food (the restaurant clearly busy) and everyone was taken care of in a timely manner. Highly recommended and I will definitely visit again. First time been here today, went at an extremely busy time told be 20mins wait would text me once table available (great system to have in place), within 10mins told table was ready. First the food, really nice authentic American diner food was amazing. Dont understand why some reviews compare it fast food chains, completely different type of food places. Drinks good size and must say the shakes are out of this world amazing must try. The staff- from moment seated us even while could tell staff proper run of their feet they were extremely friendly, respectful couldn't help us enough with anything, rare sight to go to a mega busy place and staff maintain such high standards . Overall experience was lovely and amazing and would visit again. Respect to such amazing team you guys have.

Enjoyed my visit this afternoon ti Eds diner. JESS the waitress was attentive, friendly and professional and even given service with a smile. I enjoyed my food it was good and mint milkshake was very tasty. Will call again in near future.

We have been to other branches of Eds before and have been pleased. However this visit was different, the restaurant was not busy, we were seated right away and the waitress was quick to take our order, we waited almost a hour for our food and were not told anything anything until we asked. When it did eventually arrive the chips were cold and we felt rushed as we had somewhere else to be. They did knock 30% off the bill for the inconvenience bit we will go elsewhere next time.

Visited today for a quick milkshake with my 3 year old. Jess who served us was so lovely. My toddler was a bit grumpy from walking round the shops and Jess got her smiling by giving her some colouring pages and crayons and chatting to her. The milkshakes were lovely and were served really quickly but Jess’s service was what really made our visit so nice today so I wanted to pass on our thanks 😊

Rubbish service, was given a vanilla milkshake when I clearly asked for a caramel, then the guy didn’t seem bothered to help my situation.

Good atmosphere but then a long delay before my order was taken, and a further, unusually long delay before my drink was delivered. After yet more time, my main course of burger and chips were brought over. High prices compared to places like Burger King but I was lucky to get 50% off with Gourmet Card. Everything tasted fine but I can't say the food was superior to the major chain burger places. Free refills on soft drinks. The cheesecake was good.

Really good, ordered the full veggie breakfast for me and my boyfriend plus a with mint milkshake and orange juice. Price was really good too and they do student discount which is a bonus. Would recommend giving it a try 😊

This place does great burgers. And great hotdogs. And a few other things (there's a section of the menu for salads). But it's basically all about the burgers and the extras... And they get pricy if you keep going; £4 for the upgrade, plus further extras that are £3 more and then drinks on top. Also, this place does real onion rings, yay.

I come to this unique place once a month because I like the special atmosphere that is exist in this place. The staff is very loyal and experienced. The service is remarkablywonderfully quick. Needless to say, the food they cook is outstanding. I frequent often and I was always satisfied. The expense is decent. I highly suggest this restaurant to all my friends.

I’m a regular customer at Ed’s and honestly this place never fails to disappoint. Even when it gets busy the service is amazing and the staff are so friendly (Fillip & Herman). There’s a new menu out so be sure to try it out! We got 1kg of bbq wings and wow they were very filling! My regular order is always the Ed’s cheesy burger, my favourite! The mocha milkshake is a must when coming here! It’s soo good I usually just get one to take out now and then! For dessert I always get the warm brownie, the best brownie from Ed’s! Always recommend this place to friends and family, I’ve been to a few Ed’s around Birmingham and In London, this one is definitely the best! Thank you!!!

The food is okay, Not the best, The Seasoned Fries were really nice though!

The service is bad first of all and most importantly the food didn’t make up for it either. I got the Coney Island dog with a side of waffle fries the fries were the highlight of the meal. The sausage they used in the dog was way too salty, the cheese they used tasted like it came out of a tube and the bun was stale. The chilli wasn’t good either. Overall bad experience.
