Got to love Devon House. The evening we visited it wasn't to busy and we were spoiled with the waitresses attention. The food and drinks was spot on. I had steamed seabass rice and peas with salad.... OMG, it melted (literally) in my mouth... it was delightful. Recommend the sea bass ALL DAY. My friend had curry goat and the other had salmon and both said their food was amazing. Well done Devon House. Keep up the good service. Only downfall was... (but still deserving 5 stars) I wanted steamed veg instead of salad, but all plates come with salad. You can order steam veg separately but I personally prefer veg instead of salad. All in all a good experience

Wednesday 8pm. Not much patron. Had to reorder food a few times due to kitchen ingredient not available. Waited about 10min before appetiser served and another 10 min for mains. Was told not expecting much patrons. Food was nicely done, flavouful, hearty and generous portion. Atmosphere and staff nice friendly.

My waitress was top notch 20/10 Festivals 10/10 Escovitch snapper 8/10. Kinda mushy inside, soft. I like mine a bit more...fried? Rice & peas 8/10. Beautiful colour. Just the right amount of kidney beans Macaroni & cheese... lol terrible. Maybe I came on a bad day?? Jerk wings ( take away) - 6/10...didn't find the jerk marinade that great Saltfish fritters (takaway). Hard to say as I ate it the next day. But good flavour. Probably would have been 8/10 4 blend rum cocktail 10/10 - very nice & strong

Atmosphere and back ground music was really nice. My grandchildren loved the jerk chicken and mac cheese. My steam fish was full of colour and flavour. Our waiter Darnel was full of manners and joke.

Nice Atmosphere however, the meal price for a buffet of Β£30.00 for a group was way too extortionate especially when dessert or drinks option was not included in the price. Overall, nice food though and drinks- provide more reasonable prices.

Booked here for my dad's birthday, the restuarant is quite small when you get inside, we happened to be booked on the same day as someone's 40th and they had reserved half the restuarant with a buffet service. I think the focus was more on that party. I found the service to be slow and they appeared unsure of what was available. There were several items we had asked for and they did not have them, which is typical of Caribbean restuarants/takeaways. We were a party of 12. Ordered some cocktails which I found were seriously watered down, not worth the price. Food took a little time to come but that's OK i assume it's being prepared as fresh as possible. I had the garlic prawns with rice and peas, you cannot have an alternative like stemmed vegetables instead so I had to order this separate. The steam veg was not the usual Caribbean style of doing steam veg but was actually very nice, save for the broccoli stems which were tough. I tried the rice and peas but they were not great, tasted like it was old rice as well as pot bottom, I didn't want the rice anyway. The garlic prawns were not the best, again not what I expected but I found the prawns too rubbery and just not to my liking. I tried the curry goat, it was just OK. I tried some chicken wings, I found them small and not that exciting. My dad did enjoy his oxtail so that's a bonus. We had a cake which they seemed unable to accommodate so we ended up bringing it out ourselves.(no obligation on them to) I just think they were understaffed for a busy day and again the focus was the bigger booking. Overall I wasn't impressed, however other people seemed to really enjoy the food, so I would always suggest you try for yourself.

Another excellent find of a Caribbean restaurant. The curried mutton was absolutely delicious, the meat literally fell off the bone. I also recommend the mixed platter for two accompanied by the house rum cocktail.. DELICIOUS.

No curry mutton or chicken.Really!! Weren’t told until we were ready to order. Had the ackee and salt fish, they need to make sure fine bones are taken out. Plantain was tough underipe. Slow service.

We had BBQ chicken wings and plantain as our starters and the chicken wings were to die for. My husband had the mutton curry for his main while I had the Brown stewed chicken for mine and the taste was divine . The meats melted in your mouth and were so soft. It was full of flavour with just the right amount of pepper. Our rice was served with fresh salad and it was so juicy and tasty. I am not a big fan of salad but Devon house has made me a convert. Service was a tad slow but the awesome music more than made up for it.

Unfortunately, the food was simply not up to par!! We ordered the, 'Fillet of Sea Bass' and was given, something that looked and tasted like, pond life!! This cost us, Β£8.00 for nothing at all, and something that was honestly inedible. Furthermore, when my partner attempted to pay, he was overcharged, by Β£6.00 and was given the poor excuse about different prices online!!! He was told to leave his number and he will be refunded (we will patiently wait for that, but not hold our breath). We paid nearly, Β£50 for x 2 Oxtail dinners, that were bones and gravy only...... Seriously people, remember that we work very hard and when you are spending x amount, investing in small businesses, the quality of food should not be in question!!!!! Do better, Devon House and please provide some pricing training or something for the staff, because they have no idea, how much the food they are serving actually costs!!!! Advice to customers: check and confirm the prices!!!!!!!

Devon House is another not to eat at Caribbean restaurants. Our party has pre-booked. Arrived at 7:30, ordered drinks around 8 pm, and waited about 30 minutes for drinks. When they arrived, only 3 fruit punches, others were still waiting for coke and J2O's. How can a drink from a bottle take so long. Ordered our meal and was told it should be about 25 minutes. We waited over 90 minutes, 9:30, by the time the food arrived. Between that I saw people told to move tables, our table was moved as well. Another party waited 2 hours for their food. Someone ordered the curry mutton but was told there was an 'accident' so the mutton was unavailable. The chairs are dirty and needs cleaning and replacing. If my meal was OK, nothing amazing, some had side plantain but had to be sent back. I asked the owner why it took so long to bring out the food he came over to discuss. He was called by another guest and said he would be back in a minute, never returned, how rude that was that. All I can say is'never again'

The portion size is good. I had jerk prawns rice and peas. The prawns could have been spicer, but nonetheless the meal was lovely. Awarded four stars, because there was no dessert. I would go again.

Came here for my boyfriends birthday and unfortunately the food was over done. My curry goat was tender but full of bones which does contain more flavour but there was more bones than meat which is disappointing because the meal was Β£19. My plantain was hard and others on the table had stale veg. I was really disappointed as we wanted to support Caribbean business as there isn’t enough around however, food was not up to standard on the night.

This restaurant was superb! πŸ‘Œ πŸ‘ I really do miss home being in the UK and the food, the vibes and aesthetics of Devon House Jamaica Restaurant brought me right back to home...Jamaica. Hubby and I had a great time and we were able to enjoy authentic Jamaicans meals... I hadn't had callaloo other from out of a tin since leaving Jamaica 😩 so a plate of nicely freshed 'greens' really topped off my meal...ps I'm a callaloo lover! Lol πŸ˜†. Overall the experience was great and the service was wonderful, the meal was worth every penny and I can truly say I was satisfied! 😌 'Belly full' lol.
