Attended a birthday dinner that was booked for me. Arrived a little late, which I called ahead to let the restaurant know. The restaurant said all was fine and thank you for letting them know. When we arrived, no one came to seat us and had we stood around, until we walked forward and a waiter said please follow me. She took us to the other side of the restaurant and waved her hand and walker off. The head waiter at the bar we passed then turn round and said do you have a booking. To which we said yes and advised the name on the booking. We were then taken back to the other side of the restaurant. We were seated and left for 25-30 minutes. And eventually we were given menus. Eventually our order was taken and our food was delivered shortly after. That was the only consistent and the only good thing about the place. Once the food came, we couldn't get anyone to come over to us. Even when we made unbreakable eye contact. Once the main part of the meal was done it took another 30 minutes for anyone to come over. A waiter eventually did take the empty plates. (The food was actually nice). It then took another 30 minute and a excuse me can we get. To get another waiter to bring us a dessert menu and actually take the order. The same with the bill. All in all the service was just shocking, considering the price of the food and the ambiance of the place. We wont be going back again. What's funny is me and the other guest design and look after places like this and to see the customer service side be so shocking. Was interesting to say the least

Absolutely shocking service and will not be returning. Both me and my friend visited the restaurant for a valentines meal and we could not believe the shocking service we received. We called previously to let the restaurant know we would be 15 minutes late, we were then questioned in a hastily way about why are we going to be late. We were told that we would need to order by 9.20 due to the kitchen closed… that’s fine. However, when getting there we were seated till 9.20 and it took till 9.35 for someone to come over to take our order and that’s when we called someone over. No where did they mention it was a set menu only which was disappointing. The food came and it was not pleasant and when speaking to the manager she was extremely rude and tried to blame it on the fact we were late even though complaints were happening left right and centre. A couple next to us ordered their starters at 8.30 and at 10pm they asked where they were as nothing had been brought out!! They then went on to get up and leave because they had been waiting an hour and a half for some bread with tomatoes! When discussing with the manager and waiter that we weren’t happy to pay full price for the food or service we received they weren’t very open to help. They took the dessert off the price (we said we didn’t want them before hand due to the quality of the food before) which wasn’t exactly compensation for what we were unhappy with! The waiter then went on to say that he will have to call the police which was absolutely ridiculous so we ended up paying £35 per person for bread and uncooked bland pasta…. Never again

I would truly and honestly say this has to be the worst place I have ever been too in my life! I was bombarded with rudeness from the get go, if I hadn’t had paid a deposit before we would have left. A table 13, they wanted to squeeze us onto a table of 8. Then after a huff, we got moved to a table for 10, right next to the doorway. Table booked for 7:30 two of us arrived at 7:30 and the hostess straight away said we are giving your table up if you the rest of you don’t turn up. Food service was bad, the food matched. My prawns were like rubber, no flavour of Nduja, the beef was okay shocking really. Freezing cold when you have a lovely draft hitting the back of your neck. Please just save you money and time and go somewhere decent!!!!!!!!

Came for an early dinner. The atmosphere, furniture, lighting, food and all were amazing. I had the rocket croissant Parmesan sandwich, then the salmon ravioli + garlic cheese bread which I posted a pic of here. Will be coming back to try more dishes. Prices were pretty affordable as well.

Such a beautiful place and the food was so good. I had ravioli and although the portion looked small it was very filling. The drinks were a decent price and they offer 241 after 7pm.

4 of us visited for an early lunch. what a gem to find, never seen or heard of it before, more of a European menu than just Italian. Lobster was beautiful (fresh from the live tank) and avocado on toast was perfect. will be back soon!

4 of us went for a Saturday 7.30 tea. Service was poor throughout and service charge was still added on to bill. Drinks not served and requested wine 3 times. Lobster served without cracker, steak without steak knife, no water for fingers, no spoon for onion etc etc....the list goes on. Food tasty although portion size small so have a side.....Decided to leave after mains.

I had lobster surf and turf and black forest gateau and it was lovely and fresh. Very enjoyable and nice atmosphere

I have been recommended to go here for awhile by friends and finally visited this week. The service and food were outstanding! We had the garlic bread for starters and linguine con gamberetti (prawn linguine pasta) for mains. I must say it's the most delicious version of this dish I've had since being in Italy. Highly recommend this place and will visit again soon for sure.

Someone told us to come here for the best Italian food and they couldn't be more right. Really good pasta we got the spaghetti and it was extremely delicious. Their garlic bread was really perfect. Highly recommended

Beautiful venue, calm and peaceful but with enough of a vibe to make it enticing. Good service (would’ve said great if she cracked a smile!) and great coffee. I didn’t eat here but judging by the mood of nearby diners, it’s great food too! I don’t like service charges added to the bill, but it was less than I would’ve tipped so no complaints.

The restaurant is really nice and food is good too. I have to say that the service received was excellent. We arrived quite late and asked if the kitchen was still open and a very nice Spanish waiter, sorry can't remember the name, came to us to guide us to our table and serve us. He was delightful and is one of the main reasons we'll return. The food arrived quite quickly and it was good.

Good place to dine in or just to do like us and stop for a great desserts 🍨 🥧 🍦 🍡 🍧 The tiramisu is fantastic, but to be honest I think that all the caces were great. I gave them only 4 stars because the service was quite poor, we ordered coffee and the cup was dirty, we asked to change it and they replace it with another dirty cup that we sent it back as well. Some of the waiters were ok, some of them were a bit grumpy. The place is beautifully designed, and is cozy, quite comfortable for a relaxing dinner. We will return to try the food someday.

Food was excellent service was awful. Drinks order was wrong we asked for vodka and coke no ice a glass of coke with ice arrived it took ages to bring the right one similar situation with coffees Waited ages between courses waiting staff milling round avoiding eye contact. I personally tip if I've had good service so when the bill arrived with £11.10 service charge I wasn't happy. It's such a shame as the food was excellent and decor lovely. The service really lets it down

We had an excellent service yesterday afternoon at Caffe Di Milano. We got served by a beautiful lady, which was quite pleasant and continuously smiling every time she helped us. Her name is Aparna, and when asked about her background, she kindly replied to us, explaining her roots. We or I definitely will repeat the experience. We give a service mark of 4 stars due to Aparna's service. However, we would appreciate the restaurant would be more confinement with specific customers due to their service policy. It is kind of uncomfortable to be reaching your wallet every time you order, and perhaps this could lead to customers stopping ordering and moving to other restaurants. We would appreciate the opportunity to consume drinks and food as much as we want to spend our time in the lovely establishment and pay the total bill simultaneously. The restaurant looked lovely, and every staff seemed polite and smiling. Stunning restaurant layout. If people read this review, I will recommend visiting the restaurant.

Decided to take out a selection of desserts so to close out a family dinner on a sweet note. Sweet, they certainly were. Also strangely, I couldn’t really distinguish the taste between the different items - they’re all just very, very sweet. Looks quite pretty though.

We went at a very quiet time on a Sunday morning. Was a perfect respite to the torrential rain outside. Staff were lovely and we can recommend the almond croissants. The cafe is beautiful inside, such a find on a wet Sunday morning.

I was there a few days ago and I had a wine and an antipasto, which was pretty good. I didn't know they had an outside area so I asked to move outside. I was then informed that tables outside need to pay straight away for the order, which was not a problem, the issue was that after paying for my meal no one came back to me. I was waiting for quite a long time to order a coffee and some dessert but again no one came to check me so I decided to leave. I'm not sure if I'll be coming back.

This looks like a nice restaurant, unfortunately the service is terrible and the food is average at best. My party of four were seated at a table next to two rude women sitting side-by-side at a table for two (the other seat being empty), jackets and bags strewn everywhere, totally encroaching on our space, and the waitress said nothing to them. We had to ask to move tables, in the end, after tracking down our non-attentive server who looked at me like I was an alien when I tried to order a dirty martini (two martinis on the menu, so it wouldn’t have been a huge stretch). The menu is heavy on meat and cream, and the pasta I had was lukewarm and kind of bland. I make better Italian food than that at home.

This proved an interesting restaurant. It's very attractive to visit.Excellent location for the hippodrome theatre. They certainly coped with a busy pre theatre lunch session.Limited menu. Staff were helpful,at times we felt at little over stretched. Food,in the main all good.Little touches would have raised the bar. The sea bass was very good,but had been dried out around the edges,from the pass,which given it was busy was odd. Lasagna,good,but lacking that crispy finish.Not exceptional. Everything arrived hot. Calamari,good, little rubbery. Things like putting olive oil and balsamic vinegar on the tables would be a nice touch. Mains came with a salad The desert's we had were excellent have to say,my lemon based one,one of the best I eaten. Tap water provided no problem. Wines, delicious whites well chilled. Price point above average to high for the quality. But overall a lovely lunchtime experience. Thank you. We will visit again.

Excellent selection of seafood which is not always the case in Birmingham. I had the lobster linguine while my wife had the seafood linguine. Both were delicious and we shared a bottle of white wine which went down well. I will say that I don’t eat much seafood and didn’t realise there was further meat in the lobster claw which I hadn’t been given the tool to crack until the waiter who collected the plate asked about it, although he then cracked with the tool even if it was slightly cold. Even so, the meal itself was great.

Do not go here. It’s a catfish place. Food is not fresh, seafood pasta was made in less that 10 mins. There was no flavour in the pasta, just tasted like tomato. The mussels were mushy to the point where I had to spit them out, you couldn’t even chew them because they were mush and tasted old like frozen. TERRIBLE SERVICE as well. Rude lady at the front, absolute joke of a place. Focus less on your aesthetics and more or the food. How can I forget that when my drink came the strawberry was covered in fruit flies. AVOID THIS PLACE!!

Incredible food. Absolutely zero atmosphere. Awful service. We entered the restaurant at 7pm on a Thursday and by 7:30, the restaurant was empty. You would've thought the service in that case would be second to none? Wrong. We waited around 30 minutes from finishing our starters for plates to be cleared. One of the party is allergic to peppercorns and specifically asked for these to not be on their steak, even confirmed by the waitress. The steak arrived with them on, and then another 20 minutes for the replacement steak to arrive. We had all finished by this point. Overall, great food, let down by some of the slowest and inattentive service I have ever received.

Visiting Birmingham for the weekend and this was the best Italian eating experience my fiance and I have ever had. We had calamari frite which were amazing. The service was friendly and impeccable. I would highly recommend this establishment.

This was a complete surprise. Didn't know what to expect but from the second we walked in, we were treated like royalty. The wait staff were beyond attentive and the meal from start to finish was superb. Probably the best Bolognese Sauce I ever ate. I would go back in a moment's notice. This is a hidden gem. Go find it.

Ah what a delight! I loved everything about this caffe. The ambience was wonderful, inviting and modern. The food is even better! Every single element of our meal was meant to be there, not one thing was out of place. The service is perfect, coordinated and refined. The staff is keen with their details, always checking in and making polite conversations.

Starving ! With the numerous restaurants surrounding I chose this magnificent restaurant. From the moment you walk in you feel at home. Wait staff greeted me with a smile and warmth. The food was on the same level. It was obvious that it was made with love. I do recommend this masterpiece.
