The local itself is amazing! The staff as well, they are friendly and explain to you how to order, how the portions of food are. The food is delicious they have small portions but absolutely delicious. Is second time when we came here and everything was perfect. Highly recommend this place if you to try something else.

Our first visit to Mowgli after hearing so much about it was just about average. The decor is lovely as is the thought behind the serving dishes and cutlery. The food itself was average and the biggest reason for this was everything we had and I mean everything had a very heavy hand of tamarind in it. I love tamarind in curries or street food but this was so heavy handed it masked the actual taste of the food itself and left a layer of tamarind on the palate which even the utterly delectable mango lassi could not shift. Our fav food item, mango lassi!!!! We had the following items 1) Bhej 2) Chicken wings 3) Dhahi puri chaat 4) Butter chicken which was nothing like Mumbai or Indian butter chicken 5) lamb chops Will we visit again? I doubt it!

A fabulous dining experience! A very romantic setting with no lamps - only fairy lights! The food was incredibly tasty and didn't break the bank. We did have to wait for an hour for a table (Saturday night at 7pm) but we DO NOT regret it one bit! Such an enjoyable place and definitely worth many more visits! Food pictured - 'Angry Bird' and 'Maa's lamb chops with turmeric chips'. Drink - 'Mowgli Twister'.

Food was good but oily. Chapatis were soft and nice. Quantity was just sufficient for a single person. The decor is pleasant and reminds of the village in India with modern 'dhaba " look and food served in tiffins. Loved the decoration with the chapati maker and the lanterns around.

Always have great food, service and the lighting enhances the ambience and overall experience. We had great service on Sunday and they remembered the birthday brownie even after we asked for the bill and forgot...our waitresses went above and beyond!

Went to Mowgli whilst visiting my friend in Birmingham! It was busy, but we were given a table! The atmosphere and aesthetic was absolutely amazing with the lighting and design of the restaurant, I sat on a swing ! It was so cool! The food was good, and fairly priced. Would definitely recommend to try it out!

Went here for a meal with my partner on my birthday. They sat us at the back and my partner asked if was possible to be seated at the front, they were happy to oblige. Such a beautifully decorated place. Food was fantastic 😋. We watched at lunchtime as queues formed to get in. They provided a free birthday brownie when I requested the bill which was so thoughtful. Can't wait to return.

Excellent location just by grand central. The restaurant has good decor and a nice warm atmosphere. I had a surprise vegetarian tiffin box. This is a Radom selection chosen by the chef. Mine came with rice, potato curry, lentil curry and paneer curry. They were all excellent, authentic and well presented. I had the brownie for dessert which made me very happy. Service was excellent and the food came quickly. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you like authentic well cooked Indian food.

Quite good Indian “tapas”. Diverse menu also for drinks. The chili potatoes and lamp chops were the best. Service not that great. Prices are okay.

Love the look of this place with the low lighting and fairy lights as it creates a nice relaxed atmosphere. Food is great and a very good standard. Plenty of nice flavours and textures and the Tiffin surprise selection is great and i love the way it comes in the stacked tins. Great service, great food and great decor.

What an epic meal (however service is slow even when not busy as staff are busy chatting with eachother). As you walk in there are fairy lights everywhere creating a magical environment. Dishes are served in small tiffin tins and I opted for the house chicken, roti and basmati rice. I was so impressed with the flavour and creaminess of the house chicken I ordered another. Really lovely dining experience and the environment really takes you out of the busy station below.

Food here is really nice. Really flavoursome and spicing was good, although the heavy ginger from strips interspersed in the dishes may not be to everyone's taste. I liked the choice and range of dishes on the menu, and we chose the thali style which was a great way to try a little bit of quite a few dishes. The savoury dishes were great but the chocolate desert was simply delicious, and a great way to round the meal off. Nice date night.

Lovely restaurant - I’d definitely recommend booking ahead as it was very busy and they couldn’t always accommodate walk-ins. Food was very flavoursome and well priced. They lost a star as I feel some of their staff weren’t as friendly as others but overall good value for money!

Visited Birmingham (inside grand central) for my daughters birthday. There was 5 of us and everyone commented how tasty the food was. Don't go there expecting masses amount of food(per portion). The idea is you order 2-3 different and taste different dishes. It's street food so you get smaller portions in little tins (good/different idea). When you look at the menu the prices look very reasonable, but when you then order 2-3 dishes then it can become pricey. I would definitely recommend and give it a go (treat yourself)because the food is worth it, the place is very nice/appealing, and the service we received was very good.

Really good decorated and friendly service. I got a big bread with saucage on top and I was definitely not impressed. But the drink was good. Reasonable prices though

Totally Not worth it. Have a look at the portion size. It’s not a starter, its main course. It’s not even enough for 1 person and it costs £10. Think about it? It’s a total joke. Spent so much money but I was still hungry. Will never go again. You know how much was the bill? £42 No issues with service or atmosphere though. It’s a nice place with nice ambiance.

It’s become one of my fav restaurants. Whenever I visit Birmingham, always try to go there. Love the romantic atmosphere, friendly staff, good service and cherry on top it’s not burden on your pocket. Very reasonable prices. Real Asian street food taste 😋

Out for a birthday lunch, and have to say food and service was terrible. It took like 20mins for some one to come over, it wasn’t even that busy. 25-30mins for the starters to arrive. The one person tiffin arrived in record time, however no flavour or taste. It’s reasonable cost, however I must admit I won’t be going back. Rather go to Amritsar Tarka on Soho Road as is much better food and tastier (who cares about the decor/ambiance). Nìsha you need to come and spot check this restaurant, it’s letting you down. Thanks.

The food was nice, however I think the portions are a bit small. It was nice they had a gluten free menu for my friend and was happy to cater for dietary needs. The atmosphere was nice.

The food is priced surprisingly well and the atmosphere is very nice. Flavour wise things are rather mild, we were trying to order something that had some heat to it but were left disappointed. Still some great options though

Staff is very welcoming, attentive and pleasant. Serving is fast. Food is good, tasty, portions are perfect in size. 2 dishes are enough and filling. Do try it if you have the chance.

A very elegant, romantic-feeling dining experience with a relaxed vibe (perhaps the best change from traditional street food!) and lovely, friendly staff who explained the dishes well so we could make informed choices :) The food itself was a bit hit or miss. As a vegeterian, I didn't find the holy chow, bhel puri or puri amazing but the Ruby wrap and rotis tasted delicious! The desserts and drinks were good too - particularly the ice cream selection. The gulab jamun split the table's opinion on being too sweet or just perfect, but it was a good quantity and the ice cream helped balance out the flavours. I think its fair to say that although there's probably a lot of authenticity in the dishes themselves, the menu does have a flair of uniqueness being based off 'street food' so might be a change if you are expecting a typical naan and curry - I'd say its worth eating here and experimenting!

Beautifully decorated restaurant with what feels like endless fairy lights! Love everything about it and highly recommend to anyone visiting Birmingham. Food was good and staff were super friendly and attentive. Once you’re in there, you can’t help but order the Mango Lassi. What is super cute is that the seats are hanging on strings.

Honestly some of the best food we’ve ever eaten! Such fun presentation, incredible flavours and consistent each time we have now been back - definitely go!

The restaurant has a nice vibe and décor, with warm and cozy lights. We went for a lunch on a weekend and called 15-20 mins ahead to book a table which secured us no waiting time once we arrived. The menu offers a decent variety of food to choose from. One item that stood out to us was the Yogurt chat bombs: I put the whole puff in my mouth and it was literally an explosion of flavors. The dishes were nicely presented in Indian tiffin-style silverware. The service, however, was not great. The waiters seemed not very engaged and the service was slow. Overall I think it is a decent place to go out for a street Indian style meal.

The best food I have had in a while. Had dinner here with some work colleagues and after tasting one of their starters I ended up ordering one for myself.

Lovely setting and staff when walking in for a quick lunch visit. Had the meat tiffin and some fries and was pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes. Everything was cooked beautifully and tastes great.
