Cold place. Air freshener kept going off so we could taste it in our mouth. Food took for ever to be served. Nothing special. Not very tasty. Completey overpriced.

1st time visiting this restaurant with family. Nice decor and busy when we arrived. Location is near a high street and close to the city centre. Please note you will have to pay for parking during busy daytime. Single yellow lines. Feedback on the food. The food was overall a disappointment hence 2 stars. It needed flavouring and sauces on the Burgers and Steak to enhance the food, it was very bland and dry. Mocktail could be better flavoured and presented better than in a beer glass fill with so many ice cubes than the Mocktail drink itself... Service was very slow with lack of communication of when the order is ready.... approx over 1 hour it took food to be served.. My suggestion to the restaurant is to offer drinks early with some light snacks on the house..and communicate with the diner on update of their order... than to feel very hungry...and be frustrated....

Wow.. really impressed with the quality of food, the service and the decor of this nice little restaurant which is hidden in a corner in Jewellery Quarter. Staff are really polite and friendly, the restaurant area is nicely decorated and very clean. Food actually tastes really nice.. a word of advice their hot option is really hot. Theres is a nice area outside too where they have tables set too. The only downside is they take cash but theres a cash point across the road.

Been coming to Semedos for 9 months now and never fails to taste great, and always value for money compared to other places nearby. I just tried the ‘Smash Burger’ today and it was very tasty and flavoured 💯 served with fries rather than chips which I feel is the best option! Try it out for yourself 😁

The food is like Nando’s and the prices are so cheap! The service was great and the staff were friendly, especially the waitress who was so kind and sweet! Would definitely recommend :)

Ordered steaks from them years ago and really liked it, so thought I'd try something new so I ordered a dish called Bacalhau Com Natas (fish potato pie). Fish pie wasn't exactly tasty, it was kinda bland for my liking, it's safe to say fish pie from your local supermarket (Asda, Tesco) is better and much tastier and I'm not just saying that. What's worst is that on my second/third bite I thought I had bitten into a fish bone, until I spat it out and saw that it was in fact, plastic!! (No plastic cutlery was provided so I had to use my own cutlery which of course wasn't plastic)... I was just horrified and speechless, I could've injured my mouth, and imagine if I swolled the plastic or even worse if I fed that bite to my young nephew or niece?? Where do you cook your food?! Not good, not acceptable. Don't think I'll be ordering from here again - AVOID.

(2023/10/05) Another visit this Thursday at 4pm, another inefficient service. While there were only 5 customers including myself at the time, I waited exactly 20 minutes for my Chicken Mushroom Stroganoff and Peri Peri Burger. I wouldn't say they were lack of staff, they were just used to a below par service speed. My Peri Peri Burger was again very dry this time, really hard to finish it without a drink. My Chicken Mushroom Stroganoff was not cooked in an Italian way, you could see from the photo that pasta, chicken and sauce were definitely cooked separately. Not looked very nice, but the actual taste was okay. The pasta was in a proper state, neither raw nor mush. The sauce was creamy with a Peri Peri mix, it went well with the pasta. However the chicken had a totally different taste, didn't have a harmony with the rest of the dish. At least, it reached my expectation for a £12.05 pasta dish. I'm gradually losing my love with Semedos, the food quality is maybe not that high. Semedos will still be one of my options in Jewellery Quarter, though the order has definitely changed. (2023/08/17) Another visit this Thursday at 5pm, still an off-peak period with only a few customers but the service was inefficient this time. It took me around 27 minutes to get everything I ordered (1/4 Peri Peri Chicken with Fries, 3pc Lamb Chops and 3pc Baklava). Disappointingly, the chicken I got this time was too dry. Bigger portion of dry chicken just imagine, pack of protein! Nutritious but not delicious. The Lamb Chops and Baklava were both fine. That’s it, nothing more nothing less. Some comments are saying that they waited more than an hour to get their dishes. If you order something big in a busy period, one hour is definitely possible and nothing is exaggerated. (2023/07/28) Found this restaurant online and it had some decent reviews. First visit this Friday at 5pm, definitely an off-peak period. Only 1 staff there, but the service was friendly and efficient. There was a huge menu with very competitive prices in Jewellery Quarter. The impression climaxed when I saw the 2 plates. Well, they looked so good with such prices. Maybe the expectation was too high, the actual tastes could not match in the end. The best item for me was the Peri Peri Chicken, really tender and juicy. The Peri Peri Burger was okay apart from the patty that was relatively dry. Fries and Chunky Chips were freshly fried and they tasted delicious with salt and all those condiments provided. The Gelato was a huge disappointment. Very icy, 1 of the scoops wasn't even compact! Maybe I should have checked the display counter more carefully before I placed the order. The Nata tasted a bit weird, not sure whether that was the authentic Portuguese taste. Overall, still a fairly positive experience. Will come back for sure, still want to check out some other items on their menu.

The decor was nice however I liked the way it was before they refurbished it because it was a lot more spacious. The food wasn’t great ordered quarter chicken, when the food arrived the presentation was disappointing. They doused the chicken what seems like Nando’s sauce to make it appear hot but it was lacking a lot of flavour. Salad looks sad, added mayo in it didn’t look and taste appetising at all. Peri fries tasted completely salty. Didn’t taste much peri on them. Also the heating was on full and felt like a sauna in there. Overall experience wasn’t great. Only giving it two stars due to the waitress, since she was friendly and helpful. However I won’t be coming here again unfortunately.

Recently, they have been hit and miss with their chicken, sometimes serving it more on the burnt side. Otherwise they are quite good. Their chips are the best thing on their menu.

I had an amazing breakfast, which was tasty 🤤 , and the help i received from Monika her recommendations was amazing, very helpful and very informative and also fun lady which i think poped my mood for the rest of the day , Guys shes a diamond in your restaurant!!

Very friendly place with amazing food. The owners are very generous and professional. Food comes on time and with amazing flavour. Would definitely recommend to friends and family and those that need good, quick quality food!

WOW! Possibly the best burger I’ve ever had!!! I think i had the stacking burger either way it had multiple patties on it and it just melts in your mouth with a delicious variety of toppings and salad and that’s not to mention the chips had the perfect crisp with 2 sauces on the side and all of this topped off with wonderful customer service and also amazing shakes. I don’t know how they can charge such good prices too, very big fan after today. I actually went back 15 minutes later and ordered another one!! This place is a hidden gem thank you for the amazing food and service! 2023 3 October

Its my birthday and we are hungry and roaming jewellery quarter. Across the road we see semedos and naked chicken and we decided to go semedos as they have seating plus it smelt nice. So we order 4 peri chicken burgers (2x medium, 1x hot and 1x xtra hot) and a portion of wings(hot). The chips were standard crunchy on the outside soft on the inside. The lady at the counter was really friendly. The medium burgers were average in spice but they were fresh and saucy. However, the xtra hot was so spicy it made my friends run a 1mile round the block in under 5mins 🤣🤣🤣. We felt bad for the lady working for the counter as she also felt bad because she gave 16yr olds xtra hot. The owner was also helpful as he offered us some milk but we declined as poo was literally about to come out of our arses. Anyways, if you want some fun and a pukka munch head on your way to semedos and you will not be disappointed. 10/10

Absolutely quality food!!! Fresh and perfectly cooked, Chef is amazing & puts a lot of effort and heart into the food he makes, and there Semedo’s Karak tea made by Raj is really really good and it’s freshly made as well not like other chai places where tea is revolving constantly in machines , overall highly recommended 👍

Great food, presentation was brilliant and the restaurant is a credit to the owner and his wife who were very welcoming. Will definitely be returning.

Excitement turned to horror Location was in a strange location in the corner of a creepy street The waitress was very friendly took the order, when we ordered certain item we were told they were not available Food was ok, but warm not hot as you expect. Milkshake was on but had no cream topping Would I recommend, No !!

Incredible experience at Semedo’s in Jewellery Quarter! My partner and I dined for dinner in Semedo’s and ordered the peri peri chicken and rump steak, both cooked to absolute perfection! So flavoursome and so fresh, we ordered baklava for dessert and our server, Abdul happily warmed them upon request. We shall be back and special thanks to Abdul for looking after us:)

I’ve been a frequent visitor since 2021 but have had to give up on this sinking ship. Food quality has gone down yet prices have gone sky high. They give the smallest portions of chicken possible and charge silly amounts. Had a pitta the other day and could only taste chilli sauce and salad, minimal chicken included. Semedo’s.. more like SemeNO’s.

This place used to be really good, tasty food everytime I went and came out feeling satisfied. Recently not so great, caprese chicken was served on a very large bed of salad which was doused with Vinaigrette or some sort of dressing, that overpowered the taste of everything else. The lamb chops were overcooked and couldn't chew them, and the taste of the chicken has changed. Maybe new owners and the girl in the back cooking was rushed off her feet. Also the place is very small and tight seating since the change of the restaurant size.

I had a great time eating delicious food at semedos sea view restaurant. The waiter and the waitresses were committed to great service and were very friendly. The atmosphere was awesome. Most importantly every food and drink on your menu tasted great!

Clean and tidy.. parking available infront of restaurant after certain hours in the afternoon/evening.. sheesha available.. service was slow.. took awhile for food to come then had to ask for the drinks to be served.. food was great had a cheese burger but they put ketchup in the burger not on my request and seperate salad had mayo drizzled all over it.. not everyone loves that much mayo.. other then that was good evening.. think just be clear when ordering and how you would like your food to be served.. came again hoping it would have improved.. had a smash burger not much taste to it.. capachino spilled as she came to serve it and didn't get me another.. and finished my meal and my drink didn't arrive again.. poor service.. wouldn't come here for food.. sheesha was ok.. only came here again because was in the area.. disappointed..

This is my regular peri peri restaurant close to my workplace and I love it. Serving chicken, burgers, desserts and lunchtime faves. Food is tasty and well priced, service is always quick, staff are friendly and their new menu including the Angus beef smash burgers is a must try. Definitely recommend!!! 10/10

We ordered peri chicken ,hummus,Gormet burger,salad and chips.Arrived on time and the tase was good therefor staff were very polite and patient. I liked the place I read about the bad reviews before we go,but everything was good yesterday.we all happy I recommend this place,give them the chance to prove you.

Food is reasonably tasty but portion sizes for the price are a tad disproportional. In addition, I can’t see the portrayed Portuguese authenticity that they publicise. Put another way, they should ask themselves, what flavours SPECIFICALLY are they using, different to elsewhere, to imply that they are remotely similar to Portuguese cuisine? Because if you ask me, the food tastes the same as many other decent places. As is normally the case, in food outlets, there is always one member of staff that is dense. You see, I often wonder if some “people” are masquerading as human beings, but in reality they are bots, zombies or automations. Twice at this place, on different visits, I asked for chilli sauce and I got sweet chilli instead. A zombie is programmed to respond to a stimulus in a set way. So presumably, in this case, when I say chilli, the zombie is programmed to deliver sweet chilli. The scariest thing about it all is these people go on to have children. Or may be, I am totally wrong about the whole zombie thing and the she in question needs to visit an audiologist. On a separate note, the sink in the gents is so small you can only wash your hands in one of two ways: one finger at a time, or ignore there is a sink there and use the floor as the drainage system, i.e. treat the entire cubicle as a sink.

They used to have good food but not anymore. Recently when I order I get burnt food. Ordered this meal and when it arrived I couldn't even eat it. The chicken was completely burnt !!! 😞👎🏾
