Lovely little place however the farm is a little run down. Still a great place to go, lovely short walks, picnic area and park and then the very small farm part is only £1.50 per adult entry. Great to go if your local or staying around a while however we could have chosen better places to spend our day considering we live 3 hours away.

Woodgate Valley Country Park is a wonderful place to visit for a peaceful escape from the busy city. It's a safe and family-friendly destination with ample space for various activities like walking, running, cycling, and bird-watching. The park boasts stunning landscapes, including woodlands, meadows, and streams, which make it an ideal spot for nature lovers. Although the park is well-maintained, I couldn't give it five stars because I noticed some of the trees need better care and pruning. It would be great if the Birmingham City Council could be more disciplined in this aspect. However, this minor issue doesn't detract from the overall beauty and serenity of the park. Overall, Woodgate Valley Country Park is an excellent place to visit with family and friends, and I highly recommend it. The park's natural beauty and safety make it a great destination for anyone looking to work out in nature, and I will definitely be returning soon.

Nothing special, best part was seeing the horses (even then, they looked very unwell). We tried to follow the route on the government website but half the route wasn't accessible as bushes were overgrown etc. They could do with coloured arrows pointing you in the direction of each route. Visitor centre was also closed and couldn't find the urban farm. People general unfriendly, I thought it would be fairly civilised but turns out we walked right into chav city.

The countryside can't be faulted, the play area is good, but the visitors centre is closed - what a waste - the farm is closed with no animals, just the horses from the stables out. This site is missing g out on such alot if footfall because if that, but still worth the lovely walks. Does have picnic tables available.

Lovely place to spend your afternoon with children. Close to nature. Playground area isn't massive but it is quite unique, more wood and rope than metal and plastic. Nearby you can introduce your little ones to horses if you haven't already. Well worth visiting.

Really scenic park. Horses in the field which was lovely. Visitors centre was open when I visited, it does state the times it's open, so would be worth checking. Would have been better if the visitors centre sold refreshments. But overall, a lovely park.

  • 5/5 Christoff R. 3 years ago on Google
A really enjoyable walk.. not too many bikes either. The path down from the cafe is being surfaced which will make a huge difference to the muddy conditions.

Great day out on hottest day of 2023! Plenty of parking, not too crowded, clean and a real rural feel. The lake is large and walking was very pleasant even in the heat. Nice playground for the kids.

Was a lovely day out with the family we took a picnic walked round the paddocks and down the nature trail, there's a small farm and a few horses lots of wildlife and a park too for the kiddies with benches for eating, Small cafe and bathroom was closed but I'm sure it will be open once covid allows

Bit muddy off the path so wear good boots but a lovely walk and lots of dogs for ours to meet. Cafe seems closed during lockdown, or at least wasn't open when we went. Reduced parking as the site is being used for a test centre but we had no trouble finding a space

The whole family loves this place. Including our dog Milo. There is always plenty of parking, and the Miles of Countryside is amazing. We have had lots of long walks here, and it never gets boring. Great place.

Been a while since had. Walk here. Was quite so plenty of car parking free and able to do a nice walk. Was muddy but this time of year it's to be expected. Dida nice circle walk and then back past horses to visitor centre which wasn't open on passing.

  • 4/5 Matthew N. 7 months ago on Google
It's a good park for kids and walking the dog my daughter and niece like going there to see the horses and feed them

  • 5/5 Jules H. 9 months ago on Google
Lovely park for a day out and fresh forest air.

  • 3/5 Mark G. 1 year ago on Google
It's OK if you go take your litter home do not dump it in the woods , as it can harm animals and the environment, so much litter of late

  • 3/5 Luana B. 3 years ago on Google
Sadly the west Boulevard side of the park is not so great for walks anymore since the path was paved. Too many scooters and even dirt bikes and other petrol run vehicles making it very hard to relax...on a good day though it's a nice little walk to the visitors centre and sometimes the horses are out too and it's nice for the kids.

a place with potential but it is another neglected park with nothing interesting for children or adults old dirty benches and mud in the parking lot. At the bottom, along the path, water flows into which some sewage flows. Many parks need revitalization and a good idea. A bit of modernity.

Lovely place to walk and take a picnic. Saw a deer amongst the trees. Lots of horses when you walk by. Large grass area to play on. Didn't cover the whole park. Play area was quite small and not much equipment, kids were especially disappointed that there was no swing. Free parking.

The new paths make family walks less muddy! Lots of people on the move, bikes too, family and individual adults (not passing as slow as they could) The river is grim, smells, grey sheen to many of the exposed rocks, clearly polluted but still with easy access points that encourages families to play in it.

Lovely place to walk with well organised paths for those that need them. Main path is hard standing or tarmac so good for buggies, pushchair, wheelchair etc but there are a few slopes here and there so be mindful of the weight you're pushing. Very popular with cycling and running folks as well.

  • 4/5 Abu T. 3 years ago on Google
Nice lil spot for a good long walk. Would advise to bring your wellies if its been raining. You don't want your shoes to get stuck in the mud like me

  • 5/5 Rebecca G. 3 years ago on Google
Walked from our front door onto this fabulous country park. Although 2020 has changed how things can be done, there's been continued gradual development & careful management of this space. Great, green, local place.

One side of the stream recently resurfaced.songreat for walking on. Keep to this side as the other is very very muddy due to all the rain. The horses churn it up too. Fine in the summer when the ground is hard. There is a carpark but much of it is cordoned off for the Covid test centre. The part for park visitors is very muddy and wet at the moment, but there is usually some space to park on the road opposite. The cafe and toilets are closed at the moment. Gets a bit busy at weekends. I really like the walk through the park. Pretty level and I would think wheelchair friendly. Quiet. Lots of birds to see and hear. Easy to forget that there is a built up area surrounding it. Popular with dog walkers who are all very responsible and pick up after their dogs. I go there at least one a week to get my exercise.

I went for Covid centre, not to the park itself. This review is for the Covid test centre. It is well organized, and plenty of space in the car park.

  • 4/5 Jo B. 3 years ago on Google
Fab area of wilderness and fields with some good paths for easy access. Main car park is currently being used as a Covid testing station though.

Lots of paths to exercise, both natural and all weather. Has cafe, small exhibition area, sports field, steam to paddle in for kids. Can walk the length from Woodgate sojourn the canal at Selly Oak. Brill!
