Fantastic for small children and young family's. Been coming here for many years and the animal pens have been built around natural wild life and are well kept. The onside cafe is mid priced or take a packed lunch and enjoy from many of the picnic tables dotted around. Also stone throw away from cannon Hill Park.

I considered visiting the Park for a while, but there was always something else. I finally went on a sunny, but cold Tuesday, and it was a really nice surprise. The park is very nice, bigger than it looks from the outside, and it is very well kept and maintained. There is a wide variety of animals, and several rooms for the animals that must be kept inside have multimedia content to accompany them. The staff is very kind and professional, and the shop is well stocked with nice mementos, especially for those who love plush toys.

Love this place. Staff are friendly and helpful. Animals are great, of course. Great play areas and nice wee cafe with a small soft play area only the height restriction is a bit on the small side. My youngest is 5, just, and is only a couple of centimetres off that. All in all a great place to spend a few hours and not overly priced like some places.

The jewel in Birmingham councils crown. It’s hard to believe this place exists within the city centre. Reasonably priced entry although the on-site cafe looked pricey. We took a picnic and there were plenty of benches dotted around the park. Plenty of animals to view although some were a bit shy and didn’t want to be found. Booked online the night before although there were no queues when we arrived (Saturday, mid morning).

Wow this place is great.....very hidden place in a big city like Birmingham pricing is on point. Park is amazing for looking after the animals red panda is king here 🙂. Book if your going to go it's up to you. Great place well done for the team for keeping this up. Do yourself a favour & go to enjoy.

We really enjoyed this. A little treasure tucked away in Birmingham. The gift shop is very reasonable priced as is the entry fee. Facilities very clean and there is a cafe in site. The animals are very well looked after and we had a great morning out.

We came here for a day out with the children, and we were very impressed with the cleanliness and the environment. All the staff are attentive and helpful. The trails are interesting and engaging. Not as many animals in. However, there are lots of different cages, paths, and activities around. There's a small coffee shop with an inside playground and also an outside country park. The entry is quite cheap (we paid only £25 for 2 adults and 3 children, and the parking is for free (lots of spaces available). Definitely recommend it.

Despite the rain and cool weather we had a good time enjoying the surroundings. Our favourite was the Dragons Lair. Friendly and enthusiastic staff at the entrance and cafè.

We've been here before and brought the children but today was just me and the Mrs... Adults £7.50 concessions for many other tickets Inc blue light card This really is a great place for children and adults... Car parking next door is a reasonable £2.80 for 4 hours. Weather was great so we took a stroll around the exhibits.... They have some fantastic animals, birds and wild cats I took a lot of photos, you can get really close to the animals. We had some food in the cafe, it looks a little expensive at £7.80 per meal deal But it was cooked fresh and tasted great so considering the venue not too bad. It would be advantageous to bring a packed lunch, this was on the spur of the moment for us or we would have brought one... There are plenty of tables and grassy areas to settle and eat. There is also a children's play area with swings and so forth Make sure your parking is paid and your displaying the correct blue badge if your in a disabled bay, cause the council do employ them scummy traffic wardens to monitor the car park !!... 🤬's

Great day out, and quite cheap. Worked out about £10.50 for 1x adult and 1x child. Parking adjacent is £2.20 for upto 4hrs. We've been here many times but Sept 2020 post Covid the prebookimg system was aweful. We ended up just walking in and soon realised that everyone else waiting outside had been forced to do the same. Most of the internal areas were closed; otters; reptiles; nocturnal animals; invertebrates; bust babies etc due to Covid 19 restrictions But weirdly the Komodo Dragon internal viewing area, and the golden marmosets were just limited to 3 people in at a time. Was very inconsistent and we were not told before we paid to enter. Felt like 1/2 tof the park was closed which was a kick in the teeth. Make sure you find the Komodo Dragon if you go, it is hidden in a far corner which is very easy to miss if you don't know where to look and it is an amazing creature! Finally, for a conservation Park I expected some recycling facilities to help encourage my daughter to put her waste in the correct recycling bin but there was nothing. When I asked in the cafe they said to just throw it in the generic bin. We ended up taking it home with us and had a sticky bag which was annoying. Usually a great afternoon out but tarnished by lack of communicating around closed areas, and poor standards around waste recycling. Get those things sorted and would have been a great day, the animals themselves are very well looked after and the enclosures are nice and big. Well worth a visit, usually!

Great place for a half day out and a picnic. A fair number of animals considering its a small place and is not a zoo. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Hot food also available in the restaurant and ice creams available for the kids. Kids play area too. When you're done, you could always pop next door to the beautiful Canon Hill Park.

Great place to stop for a while to check out the wildlife, especially wheelchair friendly from car park to the hide. Fantastic facilities for all wildlife. Setting is as natural as can be but has all the know how and dedication to ensure safety and caring. Tickets are cheaper, plenty of car spaces available. Kids loved the place. There is a small soft play area too. It's sad we could not see panda walking, he was sleeping all the time. I encourage everyone to pay a visit to this beautiful place in birmingham.

There is so much to see rain or shine. it's fully wheelchair accessible with accessible toilets. There is plenty of information around the park about the wildlife they have in the park and wonderful routes to go down. The cafe is great, The food is delicious and affordable and the staff are great too very friendly. It's definitely a great day out.

Great little place for a wander. Lots to see in family friendly enclosures making it easy to view the inhabitants. Nice cafe and small shop, plus a play area for the children too. Recommend it for a lovely afternoon for all the family.

Visited here today with a family of five, two adults and three children which cost just under £25. Good variety of animals, kids had a great time and the tea and icecream was delicious, also a picnic area. Overall a good day and a five minute walk from Cannon Hill for a lovely walk after.

Amazing little gem recommended by a friend. We spent 4 hours here. Looking at every animal, picnic and a run around on the playground. Lots of different animals from all over the world. Recommended to my kids school as a possible trip. Definitely be visiting again.

Lovely little wildlife park with a variety of animals to view and see. It is surprisingly big compared to the entry price you have to pay. Has a nice cafe and outdoor seating areas if you have brought a picnic. Great value and entertainment for the kids. There's a pay and display car park right next door, which again was reasonably priced.

Nice place to visit with family and kids. It is suggested to book tickets online, ample parking space available. Not a lot of birds/animals in the conservation park but you will enjoy the environment. Must visit if you are in Birmingham or close by. Has a restaurant too, but was too busy and didn't get a chance to try. My kid really liked the komodo dragon

Very pleasantly surprised. I'd half expected a sad 'council run' zoo. The reality was a well run, well designed and thoroughly enjoyable afternoon out. All of the animals seem to be in well conceived and well maintained environments, with thoughtful viewing and lingering space for visitors at every turn. Some of the monkey environments are so natural, you wonder why they don't escape away through the trees! The animals' behaviour seemed content/natural enough. Some exhibits were closed as it's impossible to maintain social distancing, but the majority were open and excellent. Prices for entry are an absolute bargain. The onsite café is a decent spot to stop for lunch, although the limited menu and prices are not as appealing as the rest of the Wildlife Park. If you were to bring your own picnic, there are many many spaces to escape and enjoy the park while you eat - often while watching monkeys watching you! All in all, an absolute asset to the city, a great day out and some good work being done for conservation. I'd recommend!

What a amazing place this is. Surprised at how large the place is as I thought it would be fairly small given its location. All the animals have good space to roam around. We saw some animals which we have never seen before which was pretty cool. The little man loved it and it’s something we would do again. There was also a play area which he also loved. Highly recommended!

It was a rainy Wednesday afternoon in the school term time when I visited so it was quiet which was nice. There are quite a lot of maps around but I found them a bit confusing. The animals are really cute and most were quite active so you aren't finding yourself bored waiting to see an animal move. I can't speak on either the cafe or the gift shop as I didnt go to cafe and the gift shop was closed when I left which was a bit disappointing because I wanted to look around it.

OK for the price. Some of the animals were not present. Good for the kids, right next to cannon Hill Park too. Toilets could do with more regular checks. Overall decent enough for the money.

What an amazing place! Such unusual and beautiful animals, and many of the animals housed here are endangered/threatened. The volunteers and staff were very kind and accomodating of queries. From lemurs to otters, tamarins and reptiles, I saw some truly rare animals here. There are plenty of benches to sit around on and a lot of gorgeous trees and flowers. The canteen serves nice food. It's not that huge, but you won't mind spending all day here! 10/10 recommend.

Such a great place to visit, very reasonably priced (less than £8 per adult ticket) with lots to see. Parking was a little difficult as there was a cricket event happening on the day we visited but there's lots of residential streets nearby which you can park on for free. Would definitely recommend it.

Great value for money, £7 per adult with a decent hours trail and variety of animals. Soft play for smaller children in cafe was amazing for our little boy, perhaps a bit loud for visitors who don't have kids. Outdoor play area also great, if your concidering a park visit, for a few pounds more this is ideal.

What an amazing visit despite covid, the majority of the animals were out and the one way system was easy to follow. I visited with a wheelchair so the only thing worth noting is one very steep hill to an enclosure and various breaks in the concrete due to tree roots 10/10

Lovely afternoon here. I'm not one for caged animals but this place is a sanctuary. Animals look so well looked after and healthy, the enclosures are good, giving them privacy but allowing us the opportunity to observe also. The upkeep of the actual site seems to have greatly improved since my last visit. Very impressed.

Lovely little gem of a place just outside Birmingham city centre. Take the 45 or 47 from Birmingham and you stop close to the entrance. Brilliant prices for a family ticket and a generously priced gift shop. Will definitely visit again when it's warmer, as a lot of the animals were staying close to their warm areas rather than outdoor enclosures.

An absolute gem hidden away in such a busy city. Loved walking around and seeing all the different animals they have. It's not a big place but they have so many amazing things to see. Everywhere was so tidy and clean, the staff obviously work really hard to maintain it. Will definitely be visiting here again!

This place is a treasure! Tucked away in a beautiful park with wildflowers and oak trees it's a small but wonderful conservation zoo. We saw an ocelot, red panda, lynx, pigs, capybara, parrots, tamarind monkeys, porcupines, meerkats and even more!🤩🦡🦜🦦🐖🐆🦧 Open to visit with a one-way system and hand sanitizer stations, it also has a gift shop and cafe😊 please visit to keep this place going! Had such a great day out and will definitely be going back!

Definitely recommended for a family day visit. Ticket prices are reasonable and the animals are all looked after. The Meerkat and The Red Panda was my personal favourite animal to see ❤️ They had a little cafe with children indoor play area. Definitely a lovely place for outdoor family picnics when the weather is good.

Lovely little place to take the kids, lots of space to sit and have a picnic. Animals are adorable. Cafe could have more healthy options that's the only downside.

I've been a regular visitor for over 20 years all my kids have loved going to the nature centre never any issues. Then today and in this weather we come to your reserve such a lovely few hours with my 2 younger kids. When it came to leaving as always we make a point of going to the gift shop to buy something for the kids as part of there visit only to be told we couldn't and should of done this on our way in. I understand that COVID-19 has caused uncertainty around the world and its been pretty scary for all but seriously to deny children a treat at the end of there visit is just plain wrong.. Disappointed 😞

Nice place, not on many animals

  • 5/5 Art D. 3 years ago on Google
I love this place and have been here several times. One reason is the modest entrance prices, unlike some zoos. Another reason is the sight of European Lynx - they are larger and more scary looking than I'd expected. In October 2020 they worked hard to make the visit as safe as possible during the Covid-19 epidemic.

Lovely to visit and see the animals. Seems to be coping well with covid and have safety measures in place to protect animals, staff and visitors alike. Will be back once the new lockdown is over.

What a fab place! I spent 3 hours walking around here today, but I could easily have stayed another 3 if I didn't have a train to catch! The nocturnal house was a highlight for me, the armadillo was very active and it was fun to watch him scuttling around. Also loved the red panda and the capybara. It was my first visit, but it definitely won't be my last! I even treated myself to an armadillo from the gift shop.

They've clearly been busy through lockdown. It's back and even better than before. Very sensible COVID19 Precautions throughout. All in all, a really lovely day out. The soft play remains shut, but there is a great outdoor play area to burn off some energy.

  • 3/5 Ashen E. 4 months ago on Google • 7 reviews
Overall it was an enjoyable experience. Unfortunately there were several exhibits that were out of order or lacking and the cafe lacked options but there were many exotic animals to see. My overall visit was expected to be 3-4 hours but ended up being just over 1, and that was after 2 laps of the place. Not very expansive but the things that are present are great; I thoroughly enjoyed the reptilian, monkey and red panda exhibits. Facilities were decently maintained other than the Caffè and price board which had seen better days. Customer service was mediocre but you go for the animals so you can't really complain.

I've given BWCP 4 stars despite the fact I was only able to get a quarter of the way around due to the battery on my mobility scooter dying. The explain the reason I've only given 4 stars and not 5 later. The animals we were able to see (due to both Covid19 and my scooter battery dying) were very well cared for and were obviously happy in their environment. The Covid 19 policy to get in was excellent, inside the gift shop it was good, despite some parents not being able to control their children. However once you got into the park itself these covid policies seemed to almost entirely vanish. Yes there were hand sanitising stations dotted here and there and a sign on the cafe but going around the park was literally a free for all. There were yellow arrows on the floor but these were so badly worn in places it looked like these had been down years. If these were meant to identify a one way system it drastically didn't work. Maybe have signs up saying "This way around"? Also the only people I saw with a facemask on were the two guys on entry and myself and my wife. However despite this I shall return eventually. If I can get through to book my tickets that is.

  • 5/5 Chloe M. 3 years ago on Google
we had to book in advance via the booking line found on the website. this was fairly straightforward but waited a long time to get through. ticket prices vary but there are discounts for pensioners and children go free. cafe was clean and the food was nice. Not always very many animals to see especially when it rains and they all hide. We always have a nice time and I would reccomend it as a fun and educational family friendly place. there is paid parking and a childs play area. Easy to access and mostly (if not completely) wheelchair friendly.

What a fantastic place. We visited during the new Covid-19 restrictions but after our first experience we plan to come back again. There's loads of animals to see and in a variety of enclosures. It's a nice size but with lots to see and loads of picnic benches all the way around, so take food with you and go around twice! Loved it and will look at getting a season ticket for the future.

Spent a great few hours here with picnic and ice-cream from café. Admission is pre-booked so not too busy; directions around the site are well signposted; place is clean; animals seem well looked after. Indoor exhibits are closed, which is disappointing, but something I agree with - I would rather they be closed than try to socially distance inside! Will happily come again.

We visited this place after seeing it while we were visiting the area. It looks small from the front, but once you’re inside it does not disappoint. We visited when it opened at 10am and we were wondering whether all the animals would be awake and roaming around, but they were almost all visible and active which was brilliant. I felt that some of the areas the animals were in were quite small, but I hope and assume that the wildlife park have done their research and have the right amount of space for each animal. That being said it never hurts them to have more space, so maybe that’s something to look into. The only other disappointing thing was the gift shop. The shelves were so bare we found nothing to purchase to remind us of the day. My son collects keyrings and there weren’t any that he liked, that just said the park name, which is a shame. The only keyrings they had available were of animals we couldn’t see that day because they were in their houses or asleep. It’s for those reasons I’ve given 4 stars, but … this is still a brilliant morning out and the prices are very reasonable considering all the animals you see. Thanks Birmingham Wildlife Park.

What a great place for kids. Varied array of animals, well laid out and we'll cared for grounds. Staff are friendly, animals look happy enough(as happy as they can be in captivity but there's no signs of stress ) and kids go crazy when they come face to face with komodo dragons... Entrance prices are very reasonable, cafe is well stocked and there's lots of space to spread out with a picnic. Only reason for deducting a star is the cost of the very convenient car park but if you can find a spot over the road (along side what used to be the old bbc pebble mill building) it's free. Well worth the visit

Absolutely amazing, it's a small conservation park with a diverse amount of animals. Enclosures show off the animal, clean glass and looked after. The new Komodo Dragon is awesome with a great enclosure with a narrated speech on the Animals history. Will go again

For the price it's a good day out with a selection of animals. The Covid measures they have in place are good. Some part felt a bit run down, like the otter area and pig pen. Highlights were the play park, the monkeys by the cafe and the meerkats.

This is a lovely little wildlife park, to say that it is quite a way out of the city and next to a main road, it is very enclosed. All the animals are so well cared for, most of the animals were being fed or having their water topped, when we went round. There are lots animals to see, a red panda, ocelots, meerkats, porkipine, squirrel Monkeys, lemurs, parrots, spider monkeys and so many more. The park is very clear and all of the animals enclosures are clean and well looked over. I really enjoyed it and would look to come back. Admission for adults is £7.75 and £3.75 for children.

Spent an enjoyable couple of hours with the kids today. They loved it, is a small centre but a good variety of animals etc, informative boards for info about the animals etc marked pathway to follow around, and a good sized cafe. Kids enjoyed the grey squirrels running around just as much. If you have a couple of hours to spare take the kids they will enjoy it.

Really nice place to have a day out with kids, Alot of animals to see and kids play area is there as well as cafes where you can enjoy ice cream and hot drinks overall clean Place really educational as well. The pricing of the ticket is reasonable so I would recommend a visit.

Visiting here on a cold winter's Saturday. So probably not the best weather to see the animals (there were a few on the list that I missed/wasn't able to see), but it is a very nice wildlife. I also saw creatures I've heard of, but have never seen in the flesh i.e. the Greater Rhea, Red Panda, Otter, Capybara. The squirrel monkeys were very cute. I also liked the indoor enclosures, such as the dragon's lair to see the Komodo Dragon, and the reptile area to see geckos, lizards, snakes etc. I would recommend this place if you like seeing wildlife and animals, including those from abroad. It is also child friendly and has an eating place (which I didn't visit so I couldn't tell you anything about it). Prices are very good for what it's worth, and there is a gift shop with paraphernalia available. Also, as it is off the corner of Cannon Hill Park, the stream runs through it, which is a pleasant view.

A great place to visit for all ages. Many animals to see including Meerkats, Red Panda, Ocelot, Lynx, Wallaby, Antelope, loads of different species of monkeys, the Spider Monkey was the highlight for me and many more. There were also some reptiles including a huge Komodo Dragon. There is a good size cafe with seating indoors and outside. The admission price is very reasonable and we thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon spent here. Would definitely come back again!

This place was incredible. The staff were friendly and helpful. Special shout out to the guy who showed us the sleeping Ocelot, I didn't catch your name but that really made my day so thank you.
