Absolutely stunning building looks like it's from 1500's but was actually built around 1880. The gardens were beautiful and there is a playground for children and walks for adults. The house is stunning decorated from the arts and crafts time by people from William Morris, the guides are some of the most knowledgeable we've come across and so friendly, the upstairs is closed at the moment but we were told its better than downstairs which was stunning. Overall I'll be back at some point to see the upstairs.

An absolutely fascinating place with rich and interesting history. The volunteers there were so incredibly knowledgeable. The place is kept pretty much as it was lived in so you can imagine the family living their lives there as you go through each room. A very interesting building and grounds. Highly recommended.

Wightwick Manor was not too busy on the afternoon we visited. The slope from the car park was easily negotiated to a good view of the front of the house with access to the lower front lawn if required. There is a flight of steps between the lower lawn and the house, but access to the top front lawn/house frontage is available from further along the side of the house near the main entrance to the manor house itself. As always we were made welcome and as we had a young visitor with us, I was pleased that the guides were thoughtful, friendly and approachable toward children. Everything was immaculate and the French grand piano especially drew our group’s attention. Ice creams were then the next requirement and enjoyed by all. Clean, tidy toilets, well signposted, were adjacent to the cafe as part of the same building. After touring the house our young visitor wanted to see the Play Area which was marked on the map. However, the actual Play Area itself was difficult to find being enclosed in the wooded area and a few directional signs in the immediate vicinity would have helped. We also visited the formal gardens which were well laid out and very much worth a look.

Lovely traditional Manor House and Gardens. Beautifully constructed and preserved. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and friendly so it was fascinating to see how much history the property went through. There is a nice cafe on site which sells tasty food and drinks. The gardens are beautiful and nice to walk around. There is also a small art gallery and bookshop as well as the gift shop to enjoy. We would definitely go back to enjoy again.

Lovely national trust property to visit. Ample parking not too far from the house, shuttle service provided too as it's an uphill walk. Large gardens to explore, exhibits, cafe, shop, second hand bookshop and the house itself to explore. Made for a very fun family outing

Excellent National Trust site with very well crafted and maintained gardens. The Manor is a very interesting building to visit which has its history preserved. There is a coffee shop with cakes and lunch options, a book and arts, crafts and seasonal garden shop. You can also buy produce grown in the site vegetable patch. There is a mini orchard and plenty of seating all over the site for relaxing and having a picnic, a large pond and nature trail with children's play area. You can spot all sorts of nature; including birds of prey (buzzards), flora and fauna.

A little gem hidden just outside Wolverhampton. You will need a whole day here as there is so much to see and enjoy. We will be going back to enjoy another day out and learn more about the Mander family and their connections. A great place for a picnic too by the lake or anywhere on the grounds. It's just a really beautiful place to be.

Lovely place with so much history! The volunteers are fantastic and help make the house come to life. Of course, I'm a HUGE fan of William Morris design - which is everywhere in this house. I'm glad to see that the facade is undergoing maintenance and repairs. This is why I continue to be a National Trust member even though I'm mostly overseas. Such exquisite details throughout the home!

Wonderful place to visit for couple of hours. It’s not vast, nor secluded, we could still hear the noises of the town from the garden, but it’s a green well maintained spot to escape to , it has a book shop and a garden cafe, the usual National Trust souvenir shop. The insides of the house are interesting, old and more recent pictures of the family were my favourite, staff is always ready to assist with info and directions.

Lovely National Trust site. Parking is close to the main house. The gardens were lovely and you can also walk through a small bit of woodland. The inside of the house was also really nice. My only complaint is we were never offered a map and there were no maps near the main entrance. But the site is small enough so it wasn't a big problem. I just like to make sure I don't miss anything!

Everyone was very helpful and friendly. They have a sort of golf buggy to take you up to the house if you want. We did a pumpkin trail round the lovely gardens for our granddaughter. Stopped at the tearoom for pumpkin spice latte and coffee & walnut cake 😋. Staff inside the house answered questions and had interesting facts. So much to see in the rooms, all very interesting to see the artwork and intricate detail everywhere. Granddaughter enjoyed seeing the old fashioned toys and the dress up clothes. Well worth the visit.

This is an excellent National Trust property, well worth an extended visit. A very fine house, with an interesting rather complex design. There are fine furnishings, beautiful stained glass windows in many areas of the house, fine tiles and decorated vases, and many paintings and art works. Plenty of grand fireplaces too. Outside, extensive gardens, with topiary, and of course a place to eat, a bookshop, and more. I'm sure you'll enjoy your visit.

One of our most favourite Arts and Crafts houses. We have been several times. Nice cafe and shop too. If you get the chance to go when it's decorated for Christmas do take it!

The staff were extra friendly and informative and ready to enter a conversation, which made it so much more interesting. They are in the middle of a 3 year project to repair the roof, but this hardly affects the visit. The gardens are fascinating including the kitchen garden and the orchard. There are signed walks around the estate, just mind where you tread if sheep have been there before you. There is a shepherd's shed in the carpark serving hot cold drinks and snacks. Well worth a visit. Parking is free to members. The history of the changing fortunes and family ownership is fascinating, the family now rent their part of the building from NT. The rooms are full of furnishings and ornaments and collections still owned by the family.

Had a lovely time here at Wightwick. We went on a wet weekend, which was a good time to go as there was no wait to get in to the house. There was ample parking and everything was clearly marked. The house was amazing to look in to. We managed to go around the whole of the downstairs, unfortunately the second floor is currently out of bounds for restoration; still there is plenty to see. A lovely looking house with an organic look and layout. The house has a homely feel and the staff had lots of information about the property and its history. The interior is in the arts and crafts period. With wallpaper by William Morris and works of art by Pre-Raphaelite artists. There is also a gallery away from the main house with many impressive art works. The gift shop is well stocked and has lots of different items of interest including a William Morris section of the shop. The cafe was nice. I had a jacket potato with baked beans and unlike some NT properties I have visited, this one was generous on its toppings.

Excellent place to visit. Lots to see. It’s a very large house with lots of art works. Guides very helpful. The tea room quite good, limited choice but typical of national trust. Garden nice too. Recommended

Such a beautiful historical site! Parking is easy and as it’s spring and the tulips are still out the gardens are stunning! House is kept very dark to protect all the items but the quality and condition is amazing! The wallpaper is gorgeous and the volunteers are so knowledgeable! The gardens are huge (would love a little more signage) and the cafe was lovely (we sat outside in the sun!). Would recommend a visit

Went here for a day out as its just down the road from where we live. Being National Trust Members it didn't cost us a penny to visit. Really nicely presented gardens that were really well maintained so we had a really nice leisurely walk then went into the house which was really nice. The staff were at hand to tell you about the history of the family and the house. We had a fantastic day and will worth the £10 a month membership and also the knowledge that our membership helps the trust keep these properties looking so good. There is a small restaurant when you need a rest where you can get coffee, tea of cold drink and a selection of hot and cold food. Priced reasonably and quite good quality.

Such a lovely place to be. Such a shame it was raining. The staff were so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I was in a wheelchair and the staff went above and beyond to help me. Thank you all. The tea and cake went down a storm. Even one of the Gardeners offered to take a photo of the whole family who went that day. So thank you to you too. The National Trust had an offer on so we all went for free.

Went here for a family day out, really loved visiting. All the staff were friendly and welcoming, the place was very well kept, we loved seeing the gallery and found some new favourite paintings. The manor itself had lots to see and learn about. The tearoom was spacious and staff again were very friendly and helpful, food was good and reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

One of the nicest properties we've visited. Amazing architecture and interior so the house is well worth a walk around. Grounds are brilliant as well with a little bit of everything in a reasonably compact area. When we visited there was a bare foot area which our children enjoyed. Woodland play area is also good.

Great to visit, even on a wet day. The house is lovely, and very special at Christmas! The café serves a range if food and drinks and the shop has some lovely items. There is an art gallery in a converted barn also.

Nice variety with gardens and late 1800s mansion house. The house is open with plenty of experts talking through the various features of the house in the main rooms. Gardens feature formal and kitchen gardens, tho its not been a great year. Also a woodland walk with lawns and duck ponds. Relatively busy on a bank holiday and nearly didn't get parking, so you may want to look into booking on peak days. Membership entry was just scan and go.

  • 5/5 Peter K. 2 years ago on Google
Terrific, especially if you like the Pre-Raphaelites, this industrialist's country house is on the outskirts of Wolverhampton, but you would hardly know it. The extensive gardens are very well kept, as is everything here. It's easy to access, but it looks as if it could get very busy at peak times.

Beautiful house inside and out and gorgeous gardens too. The house had so many interesting details to discover. The volunteers were very knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely make use of them as they will add so much more to your experience. The De Morgan Art Collection was equally fascinating, and again, the volunteers were excellent, and having them explain the paintings to us made the experience much more fun. The car park was full when we rocked up at midday on a sunny Saturday, but there was free on street parking not far away. Although if you have limited mobility this would have been a mission.

Maybe you should spend our £70 a year membership on restoring your War Memorial instead of letting the gutter drain water all down it. Just disrespectful really.

Great afternoon. The Manor was amazing, the small art exhibition was also absolutely beautiful! The volunteers were the friendliest people we have come across so far at a National Trust place with lots of knowledge and lovely people skills. Gardens were beautiful, park area in the woodland was a big hit. Definitely recommend.

Lovely gardens, gallery and café. House is huge and has a secret staircase, beautiful windows, fireplace cubbies and a huge pool table. The shop is made of 3 little shops, nice to browse even it’s raining too.

I love the mock Tudor house, full of arts and crafts period works. The art is visible unlike other NT properties that are too dark to view. The inside of the house is a joy to view, lots of rooms and interesting furniture. Worth a trip!

Fabulous few hours spent enjoying the history of this very fine house and it's treasure's. The out buildings have tastefully been converted for a gallery, shop, and cafe. The grounds are both formal and informal well worth a visit.

Stunning property with knowledgeable and friendly staff. Nice walk around the grounds. The property inside is truly awesome! Highly recommended for a few hours visit at any time of the year. Nice little shop, second books, a gallery.. and you can sit in one of the original stables to eat a snack or have one if their superb hot chocolates! This place is worth your time.

Fabulous place with beautiful gardens. Outside tour of the architecture was very informative. The malthouse gallery houses a large collection of ceramics by William de Morgan and the most wonderful art by his wife Evelyn. Extremely friendly and informative staff. Highly recommend.

I've been to a few National Trust properties in Birmingham. This one is the best so far with most area in the house open for viewing and all the owner's furniture, art works well keep in there. The building itself has so many details to look at. Worth to go. The volunteers are lovely. Talking to them will make the visit more meaningful and interesting.

  • 4/5 Ivor R. 9 months ago on Google
Charming, homely house that actually benefits from not being ancient. Fantastic embodiment of the Arts and Crafts Movement. The grounds and outbuildings offer plenty to wander around and look at, too. Really do need to sell doggy ice-cream in the very pleasant cafe, though.

  • 5/5 Robin B. 2 years ago on Google
There is such a lot packed into the main building and so much history that we are going to have to go back a few times. The staff are very knowledgeable and willing to answer all our questions. A great day out.

  • 5/5 Paul B. 2 years ago on Google
Had a great afternoon out with the family here. The lovely well kept gardens are coming alive with colour for spring. A beautiful Manor house steeped in history and intrigue. The art works and other varied antiques inside make for great viewing, and there's certainly something to interest eveyone! Be sure to check out the wood carved window frames from the outside, they certainly don't make them like they used to!

Stunning manor house, beautifully dressed for Christmas creating a lovely atmosphere. Appreciated the staff sharing their vast knowledge about the property and the family as we went round. Unfortunately not enough staff to enable us to visit the upstairs but we will go back again to see this when the weather is less inclement so we can see the grounds as well.

  • 5/5 Zee N. 1 year ago on Google
Impressive National Trust property. Keith in the gallery was very helpful and explained the history behind the paintings which are excellent. The hall is stunning. Nice shop and cafe. Pleasant staff. Highly recommend.

Went today and saw the Xmas decorations that were themed on The Christmas Carol story. It was magical they have done a lovely job. It's quite small grounds so not my favourite National Trust as I like a good walk but a very unique house. The food was nice as was the coffee and there's a fun woodland playground trail for the kids I'm sure they love. A bit muddy but hey its November so what do you expect. See you next time!

  • 5/5 Annette C. 1 year ago on Google
Second visit as first time we visited was during COVID and upstairs was closed. It's a lovely building with lovely gardens. House was built to look a lot older than it actually is. We got the opportunity to go on a tour around the upstairs of the house. This is definitely recommended as we had access to rooms not usually open. We missed the gardens last time so were pleased that we had the opportunity this time. The kitchen garden was a favourite of mine and during this time of year (September) lots of pumpkins were growing. Make sure you visit the gallery too as it's also worth a visit.

  • 4/5 Razvan D. 1 year ago on Google
The garden is a bit small in comparison with the usual National Trust locations, but is beautiful and well maintained. The house is a master piece, you have plenty to see and to learn. Close to the main house, is the art gallery what I highly recommend. Overall is nice place to visit.

  • 5/5 Marcia S. 1 year ago on Google
A wonderful property to visit. The house is magnificent and gardens are lovely. There are plenty of car parks within a short walk to the house. There is a café and public toilets. The staff and volunteers are friendly and knowledgeable. Would recommend anyone to visit and enjoy looking around the gardens and admire the architecture of the house.
