We
visited
to
support
our
local
zoo,
after
what
covid
has
done
to
the
economy,
we
thought
it
was
important
to
help
out.
Bought
our
tickets
online,
parked
up
no
problem
and
walked
over
to
the
entrance.
We
arrived
on
a
Saturday
and
it
was
a
bit
busy.
We
queued
for
5
minutes
before
being
allowed
in,
no
problem
at
all.
We
followed
the
route
to
the
chipshop
because
we
were
starving
so
it
was
right
at
the
end
of
the
zoo.
The
app
helped
us
find
our
way,
nice
and
easy
to
use.
A
few
of
the
animal
pens
were
empty,
which
was
disappointing
and
doesn’t
look
good
when
there’s
no
signage
explaining
what
is
what
with
an
empty
enclosure.
We
also
noticed
almost
no
staff
at
all,
there
was
one
at
the
lemur
enclosure
and
that
was
it.
What
this
meant
was
basically
people
were
grouping
up
too
tight,
ignoring
social
distancing
rules
and
people
not
moving
on
and
being
inconsiderate.
When
we
got
to
the
tropical
bird
area
we
noticed
it
was
so
tight
that
social
distancing
was
not
possible,
annoying
and
unsafe.
We
grabbed
some
fish
and
chips,
they
were
tasty
and
£20
for
two
adults.
It
was
busy
and
waited
about
10
minutes
before
getting
to
the
front
of
the
queue
(masks
required
for
indoors).
Once
outside
all
of
the
tables
were
in
use
so
a
fence
post
had
to
suffice.
One
issue
we
had
was
disposing
of
our
rubbish;
all
four
of
the
bins
were
overflowing
and
some
people
just
left
rubbish
on
the
ground
near
the
bin
(not
very
nice).
I
walked
a
bit
to
find
an
empty
bin,
which
was
just
around
the
corner.
The
monkey
house
is
good,
looks
pretty
on
the
outside
and
it’s
a
large
space
for
them
to
enjoy.
We
really
enjoyed
the
butterfly
enclosure,
there
are
some
beautiful
species
in
there,
really
nice,
plus
some
large
birds.
It
can
get
cramped
in
there
and
masks
are
required,
that
and
the
high
moist
heat
makes
it
uncomfortable
but
bearable.
Social
distancing
is
hard
in
that
enclosure
but
with
no
staff
it
is
what
it
is.
After
that
you
are
generally
at
the
end
of
the
zoo,
sadly
no
snow
leopards
to
see.
The
gift
shop
had
a
very
large
queue
so
we
didn’t
bother
to
go
in
and
wait.
We
left
but
realised
without
clear
directions
we
had
to
leave
at
the
same
place
as
people
coming
in,
which
was
confusing.
Again
staff
were
not
present
to
help.
If
you’re
going
to
open
a
large
public
place
then
have
the
staff
in
place
to
do
so,
don’t
just
let
people
muddle
through,
especially
when
some
family
groups
exceed
6
people,
it
all
adds
up.
On
the
whole
it
was
good
to
see
the
zoo,
but
it
would
have
been
better
if
it
was
controlled
by
staff
and
larger
arrows
to
see
where
you
can
and
can’t
go.
Hopefully
when
we
return
it
will
be
better.
