Wonderful experience. There are so many butterflies and they put out food for them so you can see them really up close. The whole environment is magical and they even land on you! My girls absolutely loved it. They also have a section with other insects etc. The ants were incredible as they have them walking across open exposed ropes. Very warm inside but there is a free clock room to leave your coat which I recommend! It is quite small so not a long visit but definitely memorable

First time visiting and what a fantastic day out! We arrived just after lunch, parking next door . The butterfly farm is well sign posted and as soon as you walk through the gates you'll travel down a flowered path to the entrance. Staff were very polite and friendly ! The main attraction is staffed with experts answering questions, the main area is just past the pupue viewing window. It's awesome inside!, bring your camera and wear bright clothing if you want to be a butterfly magnet! The path ways are nicely laid out with a few hidden creatures and a real dragon upon the archway ( keep a look out) our child was amazed and loved every minute. Benches are situated around if you need a sit down as you can walk around multiple times. The creepy crawlies out house where there are other reptiles and creatures was immaculate, each enclosure was well maintained. Definitely will be back to visit again! Yes it's pretty warm inside so be prepared as it's needed to keep the creatures happy!

Really interesting visit, loads of butterflies obviously, also birds, leaf cutter ants (fascinating) and iguanas, some butterflies do land on you 😊 just need to be careful walking around as they can be on the path. Went with my husband and we both really enjoyed it. We went during the week and it was reasonably quiet.

Had a great time at the Stratford Butterfly Farm. So many butterflies around and a few other animals to see too. As well as being fun to walk around and see all the butterflies it's educational too! Some of the butterflies like to land on you too creating great photo opportunities. Plus...it's very warm on winter days!

Absolutely loved this place…. Staff were super friendly…. The entrance price was reasonable at £7.95 each. And the butterflies were everywhere all shapes and sizes and colours from the moment you step through the door your mouth drops to the floor and the smiles…everyone was smiling such a great atmosphere and yes it’s a good place to do educational things too and it’s not just butterflies there’s iguanas and ants and various other creepy crawlies…. You need to take your time and stand still and just take it in… it’s definitely a must go don’t hesitate….

From the moment you step inside, you'll be transported into a tropical wonderland filled with stunning butterflies fluttering around you. The first thing that struck me about the butterfly farm was how well-maintained it was. The staff clearly take great pride in their work, and the enclosures are spotlessly clean and well-designed to ensure the butterflies have plenty of space to fly around and thrive. As you wander through the butterfly house, you'll encounter a vast array of butterfly species from all over the world, each one more beautiful than the last. Overall, I can't recommend the Stratford Butterfly Farm highly enough. Whether you're a nature lover or just looking for a unique and memorable day out, this place is sure to leave you feeling enchanted and inspired.

A great way to spend an hour or two. I'd have liked more signs and information boards about different butterflies. Also something to remind people to be careful and gentle. But it was special to wander in the warm, with butterflies flying around, landing on us. The iguana was amazing! So majestic and HUGE 🦎 the mini beast room was pretty good too. First time I've seen a rhinoceros rat snake, very impressive.

We kept passing by, seeing the sign, so we decided to visit. Excellent experience, so many butterflies free flying. Lovely walk through the butterflies in the tropical garden. Amazing scenery and plants and see if you can spot the iguanas lurking! Well worth the admission fee.

As soon I walked in, it was exhilarating, there were magnificent, giant, bright blue butterflies, all around my head,, other's too, of every shape, colour, and design, some with wings made of lace. you could see straight through. The theme was Mayan, right up my street, an ecosystem, within a tropical environment, with cascading waterfalls, pond life, statues, some hidden amongst the fresh green leaves. Everything about this place, I absolutely love, and if I could sum up life, in one place, at one time, this would be it. From birth, to caterpillar, to chrysalis, to rebirth, to butterfly, to death. It was honesty one of the best places, I've ever been to, and I felt so awake, and alive, zestful and zealous, from the moment we arrived, until departing, and am still buzzing, even now, and would love everyone to experience that too.

Fantastic place for all the family. A great environment for all the butterflies, birds and over insects. Friendly staff and good facilities. With an education area, mini beast area and gift shop. Entry prices are very reasonable, I would recommend the annual pass if you live in the area. Car parks, play areas and scenic walks around the area. Booking is also recommended.

Really beautiful place and good price for tickets. No car park on the site but there is one close by but you do have to pay for it. Staff were friendly. Has a gift shop and toilets. Very clean and tidy. Tropical flight area for the butterflies is extremely warm but beautifully maintained and the butterflies were gorgeous.

A wonderful place to spend 1h with your family ! The greenhouse rainforest is gorgeously laid out; butterflies abound and they fly so close to you - most likely, one or two will even land on you... Their insects and other animals are equally as impressive ! Well worth the trip. It really adds value to an already superb Stratford.

What a fantastic place to visit whilst in Stratford-upon-Avon. The small garden and indoor displays are well cultivated with plants that love a humid atmosphere. The butterfly's are so beautiful and just fly around you, some are happy to land on you & the colours are astonishing. If you love butterflies, water, plants and crawlies then this is definitely worth a visit. On the day we visited it was 30c outside but 2c less inside but was still hot, staff were helpful & everything was well cared for.

A fantastic diversion from Shakespeare to visit. Disabled on site parking available, wheelchair accessible. Child friendly, with butterfly spotting activities. The site was well maintained and reasonably priced to enter. Dotted around the farm were various information boards, was well as a smaller insect section which is currently being expanded. Plenty of species' of butterflies to spot and lots of opportunities to learn something knew.

Really lovely place. Visited during weekday/ term time, so not busy. Plenty of time to stand and watch all the butterflies. Some excellent specimens. Very warm inside, obviously, so light clothing is best. Very interesting and could recommend.

I paid £7.95 to visit the Stratford Butterfly Farm and it is well worth it. You enter another world with so many exotic butterflies to admire. There is also good information about the butterflies on entrance. I absolutely loved it and I would imagine children would love it also. I would recommend an hour to go round depending on how long you are prepared to wait and see the butterflies rest. There is also a souvenir shop at the end.

This place was incredible, a lot more to it than expected, really pretty inside and out and definitely worth every penny! Location was perfect, just cross the bridge and walk straight past the big wheel and you're there. Not only were there hundreds of beautiful butterflies but there was also a minibeast and tropical area, a pond filled with koi fish and 2 free reign iguanas (signs tell you to watch out for poop from above! 😂) The staff were friendly, toilets were clean, it was educational, really quiet (at 4.30pm on a Tuesday) and the gift shop was very nice, full of toys and a fridge with cold drinks 😊

A thoroughly good afternoon was had by us in this splendid Stratford attraction. I'm sure you could get around in about 10 minutes but why would you? There's something very relaxing about being surrounded by butterflies in this colourful, lush, surprising attraction. It's smiles & laughter all around, especially when you have the privilege of one of these beautiful creatures land on you, everyone has their cameras at the ready for when it happens. We are so glad we stumbled across this place & will definitely visit again next time we are in Stratford.

When I first visited I grabbed a leaflet and planned the day ahead. (It’s not essential). I visited with my Service User and Colleague, the staff was very friendly and understanding to all our questions. It’s very Humid so I would recommend wear summer clothes inside as it is tropical temperatures. I didn’t get the memo 😂 and was sweating.(That’s my fault). After sometime a staff name KATE was such a lovely individual who answered all of my questions and very patient. She was so knowledgeable about the animals and mini beasts that are at the Butterfly farm, thank you so much for making our visit more enjoyable! I would definitely Recommend for everyone to visit especially for both boys and girls. Disabled Access and toilets as well as eating area is available.

Lovely farm. Takes about an hour to look round. Great for kids of all ages. Can buy a booklet for them to check off the ones they've spotted. A whole room of caterpillars roaming free! Mini beasts area with ants, spiders, chameleon, Cayman Croc etc. Lovely shop and picnic area.

What a great place to spend some time whilst in Stratford! I went on a Monday and there were no queues so was lucky! If you like butterflies you'll be in heaven! Soo many different varieties all around, great well maintained layout. The emerging case is really cool too. Staff were pleasant and would answer questions too. 100% recommend, will definitely go back!

The butterfly farm is a great day out for adults and children too. The walk round takes about 20-30 minutes (just adults) and there are other features such as reptiles and insects to look at and also has a gift shop. It’s located next to Stratford town so you can make a day of your visit

Absolutely enchanting place! Wonderful romantic event for a couple or a fun thing to do with children. The butterflies are magical and everywhere. Lots of educational information, but also just fantastic plantings and amazing butterflies flitting all around you as you move through the space. There is a resident iguana to look for, keep your eyes peeled (sometimes look up). It's a lovely, easy walk across the bridge from the downtown area. Take a stroll before or after along the nature trail, it makes for a wonderful day!

  • 5/5 Petra T. 4 months ago on Google
Absolutely gorgeous place with so many butterflies species (some of them very well camouflaged). You will also be able to find different animals like snakes, turtles, tarantulas or even a crocodile! If you have the chance to also explore Stratford, I highly recommend it. It's very nice during Christmas.

  • 4/5 Chriso B. 7 months ago on Google
A really nice place to see butterfly’s flying around and occasionally landing on you! There are some other bits to see aswel, like ants, spiders, snakes and even a crocodile! Our family of 4 did enjoy it here but you get around it quite quickly. We probably spent about an hour here, which is expensive for the time we was in there to what we paid!

  • 5/5 Emily K. 8 months ago on Google

Brilliant family trip. Not quite a day out as, although this is the UK largest tropical farm, a brisk walking 6-year old can do it in an hour. Good faculties and shop. Nice picnic area at the entrance.

Great time here! Took my fiancee and mother for a visit and it's truly spectacular. Used tesco points to discount tickets and on site disabled parking was a real bonus. Staff were friendly and recommended some good places for tea after

Great venue with lots of interesting butterflies and other small creatures like chameleon, iguana, ants, frogs and more. Staff are very friendly and the venue is well maintained with good accessibility for wheelchair users. We will be returning for future visits.

We took our two youngest grandchildren here whilst visiting them. Masses of parking tight outside in the large car park for the playing fields by the River Avon. Family or 4 person tickets were available for £27.50. The range of butterflies is pretty impressive. I'm not personally a big fan, but I was certainly impressed with the many varieties they had. The good thing is that there is a very large indoor sub tropical area to walk around in and see the butterflies flying freely around. There is also an indoor pond with some of the largest carp I have ever seen! If you take your time, read about the butterflies, look at the "little monsters" section, which has a brilliant tropical pool with a giant glass front so you can see above and below the water at the same time and of course spend a moment or two in the gift shop, I'd say it'd take 1 1/2 hrs to do it justice. The kids loved it and as I say, I was impressed by the butterflies, which I didn't think I was going to be!

  • 4/5 Rachel W. 5 months ago on Google
Lovely place to visit, a little busy when we went and not enough seating to rest on walk around, we had done in less than an hour! We will definitely return when my grandson is older and weather is better!!

  • 5/5 Wendy S. 6 months ago on Google
Had a great time here, very interesting! Should imagine very busy at weekends. Walk over Bridge to farm was very picturesque, with boats on river. It's great value for money, you enter and the butterflies are flying around you or sitting on something. There's a lot of different species and colours. A very relaxing place. There's also birds, various bugs, fish and a few reptiles. We looked at gift shop on way out, there was a good selection. Not sure if they have a cafe on site but we just didn't need anything. Would highly recommend, we were on a coach trip, so time was limited. Could have spent hours in there.

  • 5/5 Vicky C. 6 months ago on Google
Absolutely beautiful! 10/10. This place has SO much to offer. Ants carrying leaves above your head on a rope, stunning butterflies flying around your head, exotic creatures - birds and bugs, etc. We saw some unbelievable butterflies here and there were so many! An hour and a half to two hours is probably needed here, such good value for money too! Wonderful place and would happily visit again in future! Thank you xxx

Amazing experience, so much better than the one I visited. I'm Singapore. Make sure you go in light clothes. The climate is pretty tropical in there :)

This place is very cool! Some of the largest butterflies I have seen in person, also the most just flying around. They aren't scary at all and they don't feel intrusive when flying close to you or on you. Some seemed to like particular colours, I had a lot land on my bright scrunchie. You aren't allowed to touch the butterfly's so wear some bright things and they will likely land on you. There was also a small exhibit with ants, spiders, frogs, and lizards. You could skip this if it didn't interest you by going across the bridge instead.

  • 5/5 amina 7 months ago on Google
2nd time visiting and it was great! Although it’s not a huge place, there’s lots too see (more than just butterflies) and the gift shop has some really nice things too :)

  • 5/5 John C. 1 year ago on Google
I've been visiting here for over 14 years and always love it! Seems to get better actually. I took my youngest for his first trip recently and although he's a little young to fully appreciate, he seemed to enjoy it and also the park that's right next door to it too.

  • 5/5 Rachel S. 2 years ago on Google
I love coming to Stratford butterfly farm. Unlike others I have been to, this one has so many different butterflies and so many of them. They fly around so close to you and give you a wonderful display of colour. It always leaves you with a smile on your face and a sense of wonder.

  • 5/5 Jade L. 2 years ago on Google
We had such a good time. We took our friends little boy but we all enjoyed it just as much as he did! So fascinating and it was beautiful with the bridge over the water. My friends toddler loved seeing the giant Carp as well. It's totally worth the visit even if your not taking kids as it's beautiful!

  • 5/5 Paul M. 2 years ago on Google
Excellent small visitor attraction in the centre of Stratford, majoring in butterflies and caterpillars, but also featuring an interesting array of insects, fish and lizards. Plenty for small kids to see and enjoy. Welcome on the door was a little frosty, but on the whole staff were friendly. Usual array of stuff in the gift shop, but also some interesting local gifts. Nearby Stratford Rec Ground is a great place for kids to blow off steam.

  • 5/5 Jana K. 2 years ago on Google
Simply amazing! We took our two children here, our eldest absolutely loved it. As soon as you enter, you have butterflies flying around you and if you are lucky (which you will) they even land on your shoulder. Stunning scenery, friendly staff. Amazing day out. Worth every penny 😊

  • 5/5 Agata S. 2 years ago on Google
Amazing place to visit, coming to Stratford was well worth it for this alone. The butterflies are beautiful and diverse and the surroundings a joy to walk in, with all the tropical plants and a koi pond. There is also a section with other exotic animals, all in their own really appropriate, well designed enclosures. Highly recommended!

  • 4/5 ifat k. 2 years ago on Google
Fantastic place with a huge variety of butterflies. Mayan themed displays and chance to see these beautiful creatures up close. Small mini beasts display as well and leaf cutter ants. Large gift shop. Friendly staff. Recommend for the family. You'll need at least an hour to meander through.

  • 4/5 Amy C. 2 years ago on Google
A beautiful place to visit when you’re in Stratford upon Avon, really good value for money and you get to go round as many times as you like. Our daughter loved seeing all the butterflies and she was squealing with excitement. You’re blown away by all their beautiful colours and sizes. A lot of the butterflies land on you as you walk through which is sweet. The inside decor is lovely too, a big pond and lots of plants for the species. The gift shop is a nice place to browse after your visit and it’s quite reasonably priced too. The only reason I have knocked off a star is because the place was enforcing masks but once we got into the actual walk through with the butterflies a lot of families had their masks down and no one was reminding them, which I didn’t feel was fair or safe as we kept ours on the whole time. These groups were also in the more enclosed parts with the exotic creatures which we decided to give a miss as didn’t feel too secure to be crowded in with people who had their masks down. It is also so humid in there as you can expect so I advise dressing lightly! Apart from the mask issue i can highly recommend.

  • 5/5 Sarah E. 2 years ago on Google
I love the butterfly farm, it has a wonderful array of beautiful butterflies in a well laid out facility which is great for all ages. The butterflies are free to fly wherever within the flight area and there are lots of other insects on display as well. The one way restrictions are well thought out, but as the facility walkways are fairly small, its a good idea not to bring prams or pushchairs. The family ticket we bought was £24.75 for 2 adults and 2 kids, and time limits of 1 hour 30 apply, which gives plenty of time to go round several times if you wish. Its parking facilities are across the way, and its right next to the river Avon, so set on a lovely part of Stratford.

Amazing, amazing, amazing! Honestly, one of the best butterfly exhibits/sanctuaries we've ever been to...and we've been to a lot. So many butterflies in one place. Big carpark adjacent to the property, but get there early as a nice day will certainly fill it up with people visiting the harbor. Very highly recommend!

  • 5/5 Pat S. 2 years ago on Google
Wonderful to see so many beautiful butterflies, some look like miniature works of art. Delightful to walk through the enclosures, where the butterflies are free to fly, along with the parakeets. Minibeasts section was interesting too, I'm looking forward to the new development opening. The fish pond is well stocked and added to the enjoyment of my visit. Suitable for young and old alike.

  • 5/5 Sarah B. 1 year ago on Google
Lovely couple of hours out here with my children. They loved seeing the butterflies, minibeasts and the iguanas. They also have a nice little gift shop and a shaded area outside where you can sit for a drink/ice cream. There is also a large play area with splash pool within 10 minutes walking distance so you can make a day out of visiting here

  • 5/5 Luke G. 10 months ago on Google
This isn't something we normally do but we did really enjoy this - nice to do/see something different! Was unsure what to expect and was pleasantly surprised at the size of some of the butterflies. It's a fairly humid greenhouse but nothing extreme. There's even a hidden area with ants, snakes and spiders etc (all enclosed of course). The waterfall and pond area is really nice and relaxing with lots to see everywhere. Keep an eye out for the iguanas too!

  • 5/5 Shaana 10 months ago on Google
Beautiful place, very hot inside esp. when the weather's sunny, but its well worth it, its like walking into a tropical world, butterflies everywhere which is brilliant and they land on you, my son was amazed. The price is about average id say.

  • 5/5 Mariah W. 9 months ago on Google
The butterflies we a fluttery delight. So many it was hard to count! We did not see the iguanas. The bug houses were cool with the leaf cutter ant displays were supreme: creative and mesmerizing to watch. The Littles that we saw were having a blast with the insects and informative displays. Took two adults about 45 minutes to see. The gift shop has many items this teacher has found useful for my class! The staff were very helpful when I didn't have a barcode to enter. The place was clean. Thank you for a wonderful and informative time!

  • 5/5 Miles B. 9 months ago on Google
Fantastic day out for everyone. Very close to the town centre and so was parking. Spent just over an hour here and thoroughly enjoyed it. The butterflies were beautiful

  • 5/5 Jessica C. 11 months ago on Google
We loved the visit. The butterfly's were plentiful and fascinating to watch. The mini beast area was also a big hit with the kids. We loved watching the leaf cutter ants walk from one enclosure to the other across the rope that has been set up. The staff were friendly and informative. We would recommend and are thinking of going again. Allow extra time for parking as it is a public car park and gets very busy. It is close to the river in the heart of the city with a playground close by for the kids to play in and there are picnic benches at the butterfly place or as we did sat on the grass near the river and had a picnic followed by a Ferris wheel ride and a stroll in the town. We pre-booked online.

  • 5/5 Jim L. 11 months ago on Google
Something different to do. It's a fairly short walk around so take your time, they have more than just butterflies in there too. Definitely worth a visit in my opinion. Also dress cool as it's tropical climate inside. Plus Stratford itself is pleasant enough for a walk around after.
