A wonderful park with a nice lake and lovely woods. It's large, quiet and clean. If you wish to relax it's suitable for sitting, walking and get some fresh air. Highly recommended.

Another nice place to walk around with kids and dog, just right behind Kings Heath and extension of holders lane park.. A pond and a big field good to round around. There's some construction going on just the back of Highbury Hall.

The most lovely park in Birmingham for wandering around and watching all aspects of nature. Left to it's own devices it has become almost wild in lockdown but there is obviously some sort of maintenance going on as there are mown areas and access throughout. Many hideaways, historic grandeur and the most extraordinary trees. No public toilets or cafe so you need to work that out and take provisions. Just beautiful.

I can't believe how spectacular Highbury park really is. I've been past this park so many times and never really took time out too appreciate its beauty. It was truly heart warming to see so many people walking through this wonderful park especially when life has changed so much for everyone. We do however need to put our rubbish in the bins so that mother nature can continue to blossom for our future generations. If you haven't yet been too Highbury park then please do go and experience the delights.

We got married on the 6th April at Highbury Hall, we had the most fantastic experience. The staff were so supportive and guided us through the day. The Hall and Gardens were so clean, tidy and well kept. The food was absolutely amazing. A massive thank you to Sue, Nicki and the team xxx

A wonderful park with spaces for many different activities. There are large open spaces not too far from the carpark suitable for group activities and games. If a nice walk is what you are after then there are multiple pathways which wind through areas of mature greenery, a small forrest area and an orchard. If you wish to relax in a location relatively shielded from sounds from the rest of the park then there is a semi-walled garden with a grasss area suitable for sitting. For me, the most attractive feature of the park is the stream which develops into a pond, home to wildlife such as ducks and other large birds. There are benches nearby so that you can sit and admire the picturesque scenery. The paths loop around so that you can take a lap and return to your start point without doubling back on yourself no matter which end of the park that you enter and there are plenty of patches of grass to stop for a break, making it an ideal park for a stroll or a picnic. Enjoy!

Was a lovely park, the only thing that let it down were the people smoking weed. It truly ruined the whole atmosphere of the park. Other than that the park is beautiful and would be lovely to walk a dog there.

If you prefer a quiet park to the hustle and bustle of Kings Heath Park and Cannon Hill Park, this place might be for you! About half the size of Cannon Hill but 20% bigger than Kings Heath, Highbury is located between the other two. It has no amenities, other than a car park, but a very relaxing, calm atmosphere with minimum landscaping and maximum nature. Amazing to think such a place exists within walking distance of Kings Heath and Moseley High Streets!

Really nice park with a nice lake and lovely woods. There's also parking which is really nice. The paths are well placed and well maintained and if you're hungry or thirsty then kings heath high street is right next door! Definitely would recommend

Great place. Quiet, clean and large enough to be a good walk. Feels safe and friendly too and never too busy from my experiences so far.

Very nice park to walk around. Lovely area to watch volunteers planting bulbs, making compost and general gardening. Interesting learning about the grounds and the buildings within. Very historical. Worth a visit.

Probably the best park in south Birmingham. The park is the grounds of a former country house, that was owned by the Chamberlin family, and left to the City of Birmingham. The meandering paths enable you to wander around the park for longer than you might imagine, without having to tread the same bits twice. They lead through various landscaped sections, and it can be nice to imagine how guests of the once wealthy owners might have felt as they were led around the house's parkland. Whilst I wouldn't describe the park as "hilly", there are definite changes in elevation, which can lead to some muddy areas in the winter, though work in recent years has improved the drainage, so the main paths stay mostly clear.

We walked here from Cannon Hill Park (see review) which took about 15mins. This Park is more of a parkland, there aren't flower beds, manicured areas, any children's playground or boating lake. The park is left to let nature take its course so there are nettles/dandelions/brambles in all areas BUT NOT on the paths. The paths are accessible, wide, tidy, no litter or dog mess, bins and a few benches. All the lawned areas have been left to grow long (no mow May?) But people were still enjoying a picnic. We really enjoyed this park, a complete contrast to Cannon Hill, much quieter and there is a car park. The birdsong was more prominent here too. More woodland areas. We wandered out to the Station pub in Kings Heath before catching the 35 bus back into the city centre. The 50 bus also departs from here about every 10mins! See pics.

A "must" place to see especially if grew up in Birmingham or young and want to see Victorian home of impressive size and grandeur. Guide will give talk on the history of Victorian Chamberlaine family. Essential to book a free tour of renovated parts of the mansion, tours lasting 1 hr once a month. No lift, be able to climb stairs. Search www for Highbury Hall trust to book. Donations welcome at end of the tour.

This place is peaceful and close to nature, with a playground and lots of wildlife like birds and squirrels by the waterside. It's perfect for jogging, walking your dog, having picnics, and feeding the birds. Plus, there's a free car park. Just keep in mind, there are no toilets available.

2 tours...the official one which only shows a few rooms and discusses Joseph Chamberlain and the family. Hidden tour is more interesting in a way. But go quick....place is shutting Jan 2024 for 2 years of work.

Just a beautiful space, went to look for our wedding and it is CLOSING for refurb when we want it, which is heartbreaking as it's SO lovely, SO reasonably priced and staff are SO helpful. If you can work your dates around their refurb I highly recommend.

If you have dogs they'll love it... As will the 2 legged owners. Visited 2 consecutive days early November 2023 and autumn tree colours was lovely. Easy free parking... Grass was a bit boggy from the rain but worth it to reach loads of little glades... Squirrels everywhere... Really nice park well worth a visit. Imagine it would be great for a summer picnic. No toilets or refreshment facilities but that was no problem for us.

  • 5/5 Craig P. 3 years ago on Google
Beautiful park. Plenty of space. It's being restored currently, with the gardens and woodland of Highbury Hall being brought back to their original condition, as they were when Joseph Chamberlain lived there.

Large park in South Birmingham between King's Heath and Moseley. Months in to lockdown now, it is looking more and more like the countryside than a city park. The grass is long and very little maintenance is happening at the moment. If you want to walk or picnic in a field then this is a much better option than Kings Heath Park or Cannon Hill Park. It has several big spaces and you're unlikely to be aware of a crowd in here. There is a pond, some landscaped areas, the remnants of a walled garden), plenty of mature trees and an access road to drive to small car park in middle. Access on foot or by car isn't particularly easy to spot as signs are minimal and, for historic reasons I suppose, it does not have entrance gates as most Victorian era parks tend to.

Highbury is a varied city park favoured by dog walkers with a pinetum - lots of pine trees in an area. Areas of the park are connected by good parks with many mature trees.

Picturesque and peaceful place of natural beauty. Small amount of historical ruins and also an orchard. Gorgeous forest setting for a walk

  • 3/5 Daniel H. 3 years ago on Google
This open space is larger than you think. It stretches from Dad's Lane at one end, to Alcester Road South. It is easily accessible, and even has a car park. There is a wildlife pond and encompasses the formerly private garden of the Chamberlain family.

Great park unspoilt and a great place for walks. On summer evenings when it's warm people play drums and other instruments and it has a nice hippy feel. It's very cosmopolitan and friendly.
