A superb experience that we attended on a whim. The staff were wonderful and my little boy loved it. We came when it was really quiet so practically had the run of the place. It's much bigger than you think and if you had time to read the signs you could be here for days. The Vulcan is not to be missed

A wonderful day out and a dream for someone passionate about aviation and British heritage. The amount of planes is simply staggering… not to count the Vulcan… that you can enter in! Museum is housed in the main hangar and it is simply stepping in the glory days of aviation in all his forms. Clearly this place was built and run by passionate people and run for such people. The shop is simply packed with more aviation material that one can imagine, people are extremely friendly. I will be going back soon!

At just under £8 for an adult this museum is a bargain. There is a lot to see so give yourself a good two to three hours to do it justice. At the entrance there are lots of models which you can buy and make up yourself once you are home. Once inside it is all well sign posted giving you a history of each and every item. Then when you go outside there you will see plenty aircraft of all descriptions. It was brilliant to get to sit in the cockpit of a Vulcan and listen to the story of the aitcraft. No body rushes you away you can stay as long as you like. There are staff on hand to answer any queries you may have. It was a great experience to visit this amazing museum.

Great place to be if you want to sit in a Vulcan bomber and experience being a pilot. My son loved it. Also, the guides are very informative and have lots of stories. The great selection of planes was on show. With a couple that you could actually sit in. There is a cafe on-site, though it is small it still provides the basics. ie sandwiches, tea coffee, etc to a high quality.

Having been to another aviation museum not so long ago, I thought I knew what to expect But this one was so much more! It had way more aircraft than I expected Some of which you could even go inside of! It's a place you'd be better visiting on a dry day as there's a good amount of planes etc outside And they're in such great condition to others we've seen previously Our 7 year old loved it The gift shop is also excellently stocked too!

Absolutely amazing museum the amount of stuff they have here is really impressive especially the condition it’s in! You get to sit in planes and learn a lot of history😀but the best thing by far is the Vulcan bomber you can’t believe the size of it till you see it up close and getting to go in the cockpit was truly incredible! Definitely worth a visit you get your moneys worth here! Staff are really friendly and passionate about aviation 🙂

A very eclectic collection of aircraft, engines, air frame parts, artifacts, models of all shapes and sizes and types, all crammed in one large space, and then there are outdoor grounds where are variety of aircraft are parked. Lots to see, lots to read and immerse in. Big emphasis on jet engines, their history and development and all the aircraft are cold war jet era. Very interesting if you are an aviation enthusiast. Unusually they have several cockpits that you can climb into, including into the Vulcan that is parked outside ... for us this was the highlight of the visit!

Interesting museum for a couple of hours wander. Knowledgable and friendly staff on hand if you have any questions. Easy one way route to follow and easy to social distance. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

A great morning looking at quite a large collection of post WW2 aircraft. The collection features primarily jets with close links to Sir Frank Whittle and a small exhibit focusing on his pioneering work. The collection includes some rare aircraft and classics too with British, American Canadian, Saudi, Turkish and French aircraft on display. Great value for money, free parking and a well-stocked cafe on site too.

A really nice aviation museum. A great selection of aircraft, some quite rare. lots of information on all the exhibits. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Its a shame that, like a lot of air museums, that a lot of exhibits are stored outside and suffer the consequences. A great little on site café provides tea, coffee and light meals to a very high standard. Also includes one of the best museum shops that I have seen. Highly recommended and not just for the aviation enthusiast.

It was a great experience to visit this local community run/volunteer museum. It does need a bit of a lifting as some of the attractions are missing a touch of modernity. The highlight was the visit of the Vulcan bomber cockpit and the explanations and details provided by a volunteer that helped restoring it.

Great place for the kids to visit even if the weather is a bit rubbish. Getting to go inside the vulcan bomber was a definite highlight for me and the kids. Lots to learn and see inside as well. It is starting to look like a plane graveyard but I can imagine the effort and cost to restore a plane would be especially seeing at they are mainly volunteers that run this place

Very interesting museum with some unique early jet aircraft. Amazing collection of model aircraft and aviation memorabilia covering every era of flight. The enthusiastic volunteers made it a great day out.

It was an amazing experience. We got to enter on of the planes and actually experience what those pilots had to go through back in the day. There was a guide in that plan to answer all our questions. I would recommend. Lots of gift items to purchase too

A well established aircraft museum. Mostly military, including some foreign examples. Good to see some of the aircraft being worked on. A number of enthusiastic volunteers to add more detail. A very good visit. 👍🙂

The three star rating is only indicative of the unfortunate state of some (most) of the airframes here. The staff are amazing, and their obvious passion for the aircraft is shown when you speak to them. Unfortunately, the airframes (given their iconic status) are in desperate need of some TLC but I’m assuming this is not possible due to the unbelievable costs involved with doing so. Some of the aircraft are accessible, and I managed to fulfil a boyhood dream of sitting inside the incredible Vulcan Bomber. Much of the museum is made up of Jet powered aircraft from the inception of the jet age, right through to the Mighty Tornado. They are fortunate to have two English Electric Lightning’s, a USAF Starfighter, and several aircraft easily missed from much larger, and better funded museums. My only criticism would be that the hangar (under cover) area is crammed full of items (again, including some full airframes) and is impossible to do justice if you’re a proper aviation enthusiast, given the sheer quantity of aircraft within a small area. It would be great to see some of these aircraft under cover and protected for years to come, but I fear this isn’t possible without a massive injection of funds?? Well worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Brilliant museum with a wide range of aircraft for years past. Try catch the museum on a dry day and you'll be fine. The staff all have a storey to tell worth a chat everyday. Been a few times in 2023 already once you've done the aviation why not relax with a warm drink.

This is a super museum which deserves to be better known. It's easy to get to. The staff are friendly, very knowledgeable about the planes, and really helpful. You can go inside several planes - we were lucky to sit in the cockpit of the Vulcan bomber, Mi21 attack helicopter and Argosy transport plane. Thoroughly recommended.

Great mini day out for anyone with an interest in the historic aviation of British engineering.

Me and my lad loved the museum and the highlight was a great tour of the Vulcan B2 Bomber. Thanks very much to the gentleman who told us all about it, and instructed my son on aiming and delivery of a one megaton nuclear device. Very exciting and not a mobile device in sight lol..

It says 2 hours, but I would allow more as I spent a good half hour just in the Vulcan hearing about its design and history as well as the crew stations. Fascinating place and friendly people. It's also a little bit more to get in, at the time of writing this it's now £8.95 but in my humble opinion well worth that.

Really well packed museum, actual planes, cockpits you can enter (makes you appreciate not joining the air force and the sacrifices others have made), battlefield dioramas, engine component breakdowns and a cafe. Will visit again, was not expecting the staff to be able to cram so much stuff into so little space.

Had never heard of MAM before. What a gem of a place! Lots to look at! A dry day helped. Had the benefit of a former Squadron Leader to tell me about Vulcans, Phantoms and F16s. Cafe was nice. Shop was brill. Good prices in my opinion. Brilliant price for admission. Go if you can. It won't disappoint.

Fairly easy museum to get to by public transport, although a 20-minute walk is required. Shop is small but adequate enough to buy souvenirs. Considering this museum is run mostly by volunteers, they've done really well with what financing they have. So that may be the reason some of the aircraft looked to have seen better days. I hope to visit again this year and see what's changed soon.

A great place to visit if you love planes. My son loved this place as there was not a big crowds the day we went (he does not like big crowds) so they a was idle for him. Tickets prices are great value as well and the cafe is small but does all food fresh . Well worth a visit.

It is small, it is quirky, but the enthusiasm from the staff is fantastic. We spent an hour talking about Vulcan bombers alone ! Feels like a family run museum but well worth a visit just to talk to the staff.... Without places like this our more unique aviation history would be lost. The cafe was lovely and homely and a fair price. If I had two grips I wish the models and equipment on display had labels on what they are, many museums number the items then have an index on the display, worth a thought ? Also if someone would donate some rubber grass matting to give wheelchairs a better surface on the outside areas, come on there must be a company out there willing to help......?

What a fabulous place...an amazing collection of aircraft..splendid displays..a champion cuppa at the café and the staff were super..very friendly and lots of fun..I enjoyed my visit greatly..why isn't this place getting the deserved publicity it needs for it's nationally important collection.

Great few hours out. Our 6 year old loves anything mechanical so this was a great day for her. Lovely staff who were very knowledgeable about the aircraft on show. Some of them were restored by the staff themselves and it was great listening to the stories. You can even get into some of the aircraft. Fantastic few hours. Great little cafe too only small but does cakes, chocolates and sandwiches so you can get a light lunch. Highly recommended 👍🏼

These small Air Museum always amazes me. You could spend a few hours easy enjoying the site. There is always a lot more than you think and the staff are brilliant. I did around four of these sites while down from Glasgow and easily the best in and most welcoming. Decent parking area and value for money. Even got into my first Vulcan cockpit although I got into my second half an hour later but thats the other Vulcan a few miles away. 😁 Great collection and shop.

A nice museum with a wide variety of British aircraft (Avro Vulcan, de Havilland Sea Vixen, and a Gloster Meteor), along with some from different countries such as an RCAF F-101 Voodoo and a SAAB J-29F Tunnan. Also nice to see a de Havilland Vampire painted in Royal Auxiliary Air Force colors. They also have a well stocked gift shop and lots of old books. Well worth a visit.

Wish I'd taken more photos. This is a first rate air museum. Lots of interewt in the main hanger with a hawker hunter as the main display and a few other planes. Upstairs is Blerio replica with original engine, hugely jnterestjng to see, especially the undercarriage suspension using elastic instead of springs. The highlight for me was the vulcanised, where are group was taken inside the crew cabin and had a "guided tour" by a member of staff. Very informative. Don't miss the renovation hanger at the bottom of the field. There is a tiny sign on a chair that is easy to miss, especially as yiu are walking around the MIGS and other misc aircraft. Huge collective including super sabre, otter, Vampire, etc etc etc!

If you are into aviation you will love this place. Loads of interesting exhibits including jet engines and static display aircraft largely from the 50s, 60s 70s and 80s. I could have spent all day there! Brilliant!

Great museum with a nice selection of predominantly military aircraft. Though they do have a Vickers Viscount and a splendid Bristol Argosy. Staff are lovely too. Nice wee tea room on site serving sandwiches (highly recommended) and hot and cold drinks, cakes, crisps etc.
