Self guided tour brought me to new place, although not the origional building which was destroyed by the last owner, the heritage group has made this place a fitting stand in, with extensive grounds to see sculptures of galleons writing desks and abstract sculptures of each of Shakespeares plays, with deck chairs to sit and just enjoy the view, new place is wheel chair friendly with a lift to the second floor where u are able to view the gardens from above.. the staff were friendly and the exit is through a gift shop with reasonably prices gifts

Attractive gardens at the site of Shakespeare's former family home. Highlights include an ornamental knot garden, striking sculptures and a large mulberry tree, believed to have been grown from a cutting of the one planted by Shakespeare. The exhibition centre explains more about the history of New Place, and there are toilets and a gift shop on site. At the time of my visit a single adult ticket was £14.50, but I'd highly recommend the "Shakespeare's Story" ticket that also included access to Shakespeare's Birthplace and Anne Hathaway's Cottage for £25. Check the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust website for up to date prices and opening times.

Despite the original New Place house that Shakespeare and family lived in being long gone the fantastic, knowledgable and fun guide, and beautifully laid out gardens, sculptures, and exhibition spaces really create a magical experience and give you a real strong impression of Shakespeare's life and achievements. Thoroughly enjoyable and exceeded expectations. Recommended.

For any Shakespeare fan, this is the place you will want to visit, even more than his birthplace or Anne Hathaways cottage. Why? It houses an original "First Folio" of Shakespeares work, and this year marks the 400th anniversary of its publication (just to give you an idea, a first folio sells for about 7.5 million). In addition to that, the site is that of his family home, holds his signet ring, and has a lot of other interesting exhibition pieces. The gardens are pretty and hold some impressive mulberry trees. There is a paper embosser on the first floor of the exhibition which is a larger version of Shakespeares signet ring, we had purchased some books earlier in the day which we were able to emboss, including a children's version of 12 Shakespeare stories. We don't have children yet, but this felt like such a nice story we can tell them one day. We had purchased the story package ticket for £25 per person, this allowed us into, the birthplace, new place and Anne Hathaways Cottage. It is also valid for a year so we can return without having to pay again.

This is a self-guided tour of New Place. The home Shakespeare lived in is no longer standing. There is a beautiful garden to walk along.

Very nice garden, but the house itself just a layout. Guide was very friendly and informative.

It was a beautiful sunny day to explore the wonderful gardens. Plenty of seats and deckchairs to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. An exhibition in the house was very interesting. A wonderful sculpture of a tree 🌳 and giant ball. You can see the marked outline of where Shakespeares house used to be. A multi ticket 🎟 is better value if you want to visit the other sites.

There is no place, the house no longer exists however the talk given was very interesting and the gardens were nice. You can see a drawing of what his house looked like.

Fascinating place to visit and loved the gardens. We booked our tickets online and went for the Shakespeare's Story tickets which meant that we could visit Shakespeare's New Place, Shakespeare's House and Anne Hathaway's House and their valid for 12 months.

Beautiful house and gardens, polite and informative staff. One volunteer had just popped in on his day off and was extremely illuminating about other local sites of interest. Thoroughly enjoyed it. A stark contrast to Shakespeare's birth place.

Great place to grab some info, the story bundle ticket saves a lot of money

Staff are very knowledgeable and give you an insight into the life of Shakespeare. Definitely worth a visit, and do get your tickets in advance, you'll save a lot of money. As with all 3 main Shakespeare places to visit they're run by a charity committed to care and upkeep of the attractions. One of things that is really noticeable is the prices in the gift shop are excellent value and not a ripoff as is often the case. The result is you buy more and they get more money to help them with the upkeep. Win win for all.

Lovely, efficient and helpful staff, we really enjoyed it all, disappointing the fact that we could not visit the first floor as, due to the covid, it's turned into a office. Visitors should be advised in advance!

Given that this is a touristic attraction I would have thought the gardens would have been immaculate? Sadly the gardens looked very poorly maintained, weeds everywhere, litter, they don't seem to have a sprinkle system and therefore everything was really dry. Very expensive tickets for a place that does not seem to be maintained at all. Had to use the toilets and these weren't also very pleasant

The place was interesting since you get to walk around to see the footprint of what was the building. Unfortunately there is no physical building left, but the garden was nice. The introduction talk really gave it perspective and the guide was engaging. Went on a Monday, 11:30am entry was fast and quiet. I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to buy the tickets by itself if it weren't included in the package.

Such a beautiful place to visit in the city of Stratford upon Avon. There are lots of rich culture and history to immerse yourself in. Although, there is no physical structure of the house, traces of its memory are found all over the place. Many wonderful and knowledgeable guides to assist you and inform you about the amazing life Shakespeare’s had. There’s also a museum next door where you can find more interesting artefacts and you can also buy souvenirs.

A lovely hour spent admiring sculptures and gardens and reading up on the history of the site. Volunteer Guides were very friendly and knowledgeable.

All places to visit are nearby: Shakespeare birth place, his daughter house, Avon river, holy trinity church, his graveyard, childhood school. Plan a day trip and visit all these historical places.

It was a nice experience. Had a tour guide talking me and a small group of people through the tour. I went in 2018 and it was a package deal that came with the ticket. I believe it was about 3 of the Shakespeare houses for around £25. I really do recommend it whenever they are open even if it's just to view one or two houses. Great insight into Tudor times and the town has many old buildings that make you feel like you stepped back centuries into the past. It's really lovely.
