Whilst I found the room to be very comfortable, the location convenient for Birmingham New Street Station and the staff to be professional and courteous, I was extremely surprised to be told that I could not go to my room unless I paid an additional £50 security deposit by Credit or Debit card (which would be refunded in 5-10 days). With my company having paid for the room, I was told that in no uncertain terms if the deposit was not paid then I would not be able to stay. I wouldn't have minded so much if this was advertised on the IHG / Holiday Inn website for this location but it was not at the time of booking.

Great location, next to Grand Central Station, easy to get anywhere. The staff were friendly and helpful. Quick check-in. Hotels looking a bit dated now. Simple things like empty dispensers on the walls, marks all over the walls. Just the simple things that if rectified could make it feel less dated. Then I woke up at 8:30 to come one drilling in the corridor. Again not so bad as I should have been up anyway but could have scheduled the work at like 9 onwards. Anyway not a bad place, nice communal area and the bar was good. I'd probably stay again but when it's a similar price to the holiday express Inn that's newer and includes a free breakfast I think I'd stay there instead.

I had a short stay at this hotel and was very happy with everything. The staff were helpful, the room was clean and tidy and clearly had been recently refurbished. The lifts did seem to have a few problems, and are a little too small for the size of the hotel - at the weekend there was often a queue for the lift. The breakfast is reasonable hotel quality although expensive (£15). The hotel bar is nice and serves a good range of options in a nice setting. One thing to bear in mind is that the city centre location means that the rooms are quite noisy at night from the sounds of the nightclubs over the road. I would not recommend this hotel for a light sleeper. Overall this is an ideal hotel for a business stay in Birmingham, right next to New St station and with a good range of pubs and restaurants in easy reach; although at the weekend I would stay somewhere quieter.

I had a business meeting and stayed there in September. Great location, just around a corner from a train station . Rooms are clean but very dated inside. Poor interior design, nothing matches ( I stay in Premier Inn a lot -everything is modern there with all matching carpets, curtains and pictures, which makes it cosy and more welcoming there). Could do with new carpets , curtains and nets.It needs some TLC . I was disappointed that there was not any full size mirror in a room, you can't even see yourself in a mirror, when getting ready etc.It is quite important for ladies, and men, too, to look at themselves in a mirror, to make sure they look alright etc. They usually have full size mirrors in all hotels and b&b's . I did not see point in having a small mirror behind a kettle station? Also I had a job finding a lift on floor 2, it blends in well with other doors and there is not any sign to say where the lifts are, to guide you . If you are in a hurry, i bet you won't find it. Breakfast was lovely. Great choice.Food was hot and well cooked. Lots of options for vegetarians, too, with a separate eating area. Staff are friendly, attentive and helpful. Downstairs area is modern with nice interior design.

From check in to check out 5 star service. We arrived 3 hours before our check in time, the receptionist said she would check if our rooms were available. They were and we was able to go to our room, which was very clean and tidy. We were able to refresh before we went on to our appointment. When returning in the evening we had a warm welcome again from the receptionist. The room was very comfortable and a good night's sleep. Shower room was excellent with lovely fluffy towels. Went for breakfast the host explained how it worked ie cereals, continental or fully cooked, you could also order any special requirements. The whole experience was first class breakfast top notch. Hopefully will return very soon. Highly recommended to my friends and family. Well done 👏 ✔

Great hotel, so we'll placed, location perfect, walking distance to theatres & Bullring. Hotel nice & quiet even being in the centre. Bar staff very good, not too expensive either. A massive bonus is they serve Jack Daniels Honey !! Staff very helpful and friendly, superb service. Parking in NCP next door, parking validated by hotel, specific rate agreed. Bag storage not a problem. Definitely visit again.

Absolutely 💯 will be staying here again. Rooms are very pricey but worth every penny. Customer service first class and the room felt like a five star 🌟 room.. loved it. Plus next door to the venue absolute perfection.

Rooms are functional and clean. Not luxurious but not sparse either. Had iron, ironing board and kettle in the room. Shower was very nice. Toilet paper was very thin though. Breakfast was varied, well cooked and fresh. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Location is good for the train station. I didn't use their recommended NCP partner car park as other reviews mentioned break-ins. This hotel delivered the fundamentals well.

Chose to upgrade the room to a suite for an extra £19.00, the best money you will ever spend. This was our second visit and it was great once again. the hotel is located in an ideal spot, next to the train station and easy walking distance to the Bullring and places to eat and drink. Parking is at Grand Central and costs £9.50 for 24 hours. Excellent hotel, staff and location!

Lovely clean hotel in central area, rooms are lovely. And the shampoos are beautiful. My hair felt lovely after use. Brilliant shower. Air con only works if your room card is in the room . The breakfast was really good, plenty of choice. And the staff were very friendly too . Every where was spotlessly clean . Id definitely stay again .

The hotel is in a great location and in my opinion probably the best location for any hotel in Birmingham. The check in was slow and was a lot of people in the queue. The check in is also late which is a pain when you are checking out the old hotel and cant get into new one. But they let me leave my bags. It is next to a main road and I would say the hotel is noisy. I heard many people into the early hours. The hotel lobby area is really nice and comfortable. I didn't try the food as it was a bit pricey. The room was a odd shape and no charger next to the bed which is a pain. But the room was big. I think for the price I paid it was good. There are a lot of strange characters about so the hotel has to have a security guard at night only letting guests in and checking your name on the register. I would stay here again as long as it is the right price

Hotel rooms are nice but few minor details make it feel old. Sink in our room did not completely close, heating was poor. bed was comfy. Room had a bath, no walk in shower. Hotel reception looks really good and they were nice enough to upgrade our room because we signed up for membership. Breakfast was great, scrambled eggs lacked salt though 😅 all in all positive experience

Loved my stay here with my partner! The room was a good size for us and everything was in a good place. Happy that it included an iron, board, fridge and other good stuff too. Shower was just weird as it's open at the back. The room was always clean too when we returned and there was sometimes a lot so thank you guys for tolerating it 😘. Would definitely stay again and about £98 per night for 3 on Skyscanner

The stay was good, nice festive decorations in the foyer, The room was clean to a good standard along with a decent array of room service options. My only negative for the brief time we stayed, there was a shortage of smiles and welcoming etiquette, which made me and my girlfriend feel a slight bit Awkward/uneasy. We didn't let this hinder our whole experience as we Understand that it was a very busy and stressful time for the staff through the festive season. Apart from that, it was a pleasant enough experience and we would definitely think about coming back.

This has always been one of my favourite IHG hotels; excellent convenient location, clean room with firm bed, nice toiletries, fridge facility in addition to the standard kettle with teas, coffees, etc. The view from the room isn't great but the city is so hey ho. Breakfast offerings are diverse and tasty. Staffing was off par on this visit but maybe it was because they were busy. Nonetheless, I would frequent again if visiting Birmingham.

Reception was very welcoming and professionally friendly. We got to the room and on entry it was spacious and light. It looked good, the only and big issue was the glass window on the bathroom door. Such not a good look being able to see anyone on a toilet seat husband or not. We noticed also that even though the booking was for 2 people there was only 1 hand and 1 bath towel. We asked for another which housekeeping got for us. Really good breakfast, fresh, warm and really good choice. All staff were friendly and professional with tables cleared almost immediately. Nice touch to be given a cookie when leaving for later on. When I finished breakfast I went to reception to ask for a bathmat to be placed in the room, then left for our day out in Birmingham. The location of the hotel was great. Central for everything easy to get to everywhere we wanted to go. We had been out all day, when we got back the bed had been made up, but the bins hadn't been emptied nor the toilet cleaned and there was no bath mat and again only 1 towel. The room was Dusty and not been wiped down. A bit disappointing. On the whole we enjoyed our time at the hotel, breakfast and the staff there made up for the lacking housekeeping. Jeannie Carter

I recently visited Holiday Inn Birmingham conference center. It was to to attend a work related event. The center is centrally located in Birmingham close to New Street station and direct links in from the motorway network. The facility was good staff very friendly and helpful. Good public areas. Tea 🍵 and coffee ☕ facilities too. Toilets 🚻 was modern and regularly cleaned. Overall I enjoyed my visit to this center. There is good local parking available too although really expensive!

The hotel was fine and was lovely and central to everything in Birmingham. However, the staff weren’t the most helpful! Every single person has such a miserable face and none of them wanted to help, not even the senior staff members. Reception were in no rush to help, there was no signs up for when things opened. Trying to pay for a meal was hard work - not to mention trying to get the staff to take the order / get it right! The breakfast was lovely, couldn’t fault that and I couldn’t fault the food in the evening once it arrived. The hotel could do with a bit of a revamp and the rooms are a little dated but not bad. The bed was comfy and the house keeping was really good! The hotel was just… fine.

Nice, comfortable, modern feeling hotel, the staff were helpful and friendly throughout, great breakfast!! Lovely bathroom with amazing shower and the bed was super comfy with lots of pillows.. Parking behind the hotel was pricey at £25 per night (24hrs) but I guess this is standard for city centre. Very convenient for new street station and a 20 minute leisurely walk by the canal side to the icc. The only major downside was the noise from the streets below as the windows in the hotel are extremely poor, old fashioned glazing that lets the noise pour in.
