This hotel delivers a fairly mediocre experience. While the minimal breakfast is passable, the comfort level of the beds leaves much to be desired. The bathroom cleanliness also fell short of expectations. It's a decent place for a quick stay, but there's significant room for improvement. There’s better hotels in the area

Extremely comfortable beds. Fantastic power shower. Very clean and tidy room. Amazing breakfast. Great location. The electrics fused as soon as we got into the room, but it was fixed almost immediately. Jay the receptionist was great, sorted the electrics and fixed the signal to the TV. Overall extremely satisfied and would definitely stay here again.

Very good hotel, comfy and clean..breakfast does get VERY busy around 10/11 where you have to queue about fifteen minutes at least to get your food so I'd suggest going at 9am! Food was good and good selection including veggie options.

Hampton by Hilton is a reliable 3+ star hotel chain that delivers consistent levels of service and comfort. The central city location was ideal for exploring the plethora of restaurants within walking distance as well as for visiting the many visitor attractions. The restaurant offers a very basic menu - a little below par - but adequate. The breakfast was more than satisfactory. Reception and general service staff were smartly presented and pleased to answer the many questions that were being thrown at them during this very busy time when students are moving out of and in to their accommodation for the next year. Car parking is adequate, but you have to guess that the access is from the other side of the building, so you have to manage the one-way traffic system. Instructions on the website where parking charges are given would be helpful. Would recommend to anyone looking for reasonable hotel accommodation for a few days in Central Birmingham but would upgrade to Hilton Garden on business and slightly better facilities required.

Excellent hotel which is very close to the city centre shopping area. There is a secure car park located at the back which is chargeable. Checking-in was fast and staff were friendly. Our room was of good size and all the amenities were in the room. Only issue we had was the taps made a loud noise when in use.

We enjoyed our stay here and only a 15-minute walk into town. The staff were lovely and friendly but housekeeping wasn't too good. They made the bed and left towels, but really were just the basics. Tea and coffee weren't refilled after our first night, and we were left with our dirty mugs to reuse again. Breakfast was lovely and a variety to chose from. My little girl was happy with the waffle maker

Absolutely loved our stay here. Staff are so accommodating. We missed breakfast as we didn't realise week day breakfast times are 10am finish. We were made to feel like valued customers and were very grateful to the lovely restaurant staff who allowed us to sit down while they fetched us a range of breakfast foods and didn't rush us to finish. The cleaners made sure our room was clean and tidy. Couldn't fault anything or anyone. Thank you so much. Would definitely recommend 🙂

Would not recommend! I've stayed in many hotels and this is the first time I would honestly not recommend or even use the brand again. Beds highly uncomfortable, I've had to book in for private physio as its left my hip and lower back in agony. As well as the multiple bruises from the sofa bed handle that sticks 24/7 menu is prepacked and expensive. Requested no onions in toasties, due to allergies, only to be told by server when it was delivered to our table that it's prepacked so can't remove. I had to state 3 times we could not eat it due to allergies and request it be removed. No refund offered just advised to pick another pizza. Over £50 for 2 Chicago Town pizzas and 3 bottles of juice. However rooms clean and house keeping/breakfast staff were amazing. Location excellent, very central though their parking is a tad expensive compared to other cities we have been. Have raised official complaint after no luck with hotel staff. Awaiting reply.

About 15 minutes walk from new street station or a tram from the station 5 minutes. We had a twin room which was really big with 2, 3/4 size beds. The room was really clean, with clean bedding, kettle and tea / coffee, an iron and board, safe and a 50" tv. Beautiful shower room with lovely white towels. Our included breakfast was perfect. Buffet style with cereals, fresh fruit, croissants, muffins, toast, cooked english breakfast, yoghurt and enormous waffles you made yourself. The staff were very friendly. We will definitely stay here again.

Enjoyed an overnight stay after a wonderful night out with my Sister. The beds are very comfortable, the room was perfect for us. The Staff were warm & welcoming plus helpful. We both enjoyed the complimentary breakfast which was delicious 😋

Do not come here. Although the rooms are relatively inexpensive, the rooms and the hotel are very run down and out dated. The hotel is basically "falling apart". The air temp in your room is centrally controlled I assume to control cost. I don't know what is going on with Hampton Inn but the last several that I have stayed at both in the U.S. and UK, have NOT been very nice. Basically, would not recommend staying here and for out of towners, I also would NOT recommend visiting Birmingham.

Around a week ago, I made reservations for two rooms at the hotel. Unfortunately, upon our late-night arrival, we discovered that one of the rooms had not been properly cleaned by housekeeping. The bedding was soiled with hair, and the toilet was unflushed from the previous occupant's use. Despite the efforts of room service to fix the situation, the experience left my family and me feeling extremely uncomfortable, and we couldn't wait to leave the next morning. During check-out, we reported the issues to the front desk, but no compensation was offered, which further added to our dissatisfaction. As a result, I've decided to opt for staying at alternative hotels in the future. In general, the hotel provided a mediocre experience. The breakfast was acceptable, but the bed's comfort level was lacking, and the bathroom cleanliness did not meet our expectations. While it might suffice for a brief stay, there are certainly better hotel options available in the area that we'll consider next time.

Great location for Utilita Arena. Fabulous breakfast. Hot with plenty of choice. Room basic but reasonably comfortable. There were 3 of us so one on sofa bed which was extremely uncomfortable for an adult (probably OK for a child). Could have been cleaner, quite dusty and hand held shower hose needed a good clean (black mould in ridges). Good 24 hour bar and safe parking. Would stay again.

Good presentation of rooms and decor. Some staff were brilliant, unfortunately a couple were abrupt and rude. Room was high up and as a result view was stunning and nice breakfast with good veggie options too. Bed was very spacious although a little hard for me and hard to keep the room at a good temperature. Slight walk from lots of good food and drink venues. All in all a decent stay.

Stay here regularly when I need a hotel in Birmingham city centre. Lovely rooms and super friendly staff. The breakfast on offer has a wide variety of choices and food is always delicious. The car park is safe and secure. Perfect base for visiting Birmingham

We had a lovely stay for two nights and the rooms and breakfast were fantastic value. The staff were very helpful and accommodating as we had our daughter and her friends staying as well. Would recommend staying for anyone visiting Birmingham city centre.

Reasonably-priced, clean room, very good-sized bathroom. Excellent location. We found the staff really friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was very clean. The breakfast was delicious and had a large variety of choices. All of the employees were very kind and helpful. I gave 2 stars for location because it seemed a little unsafe in the evening but inside the hotel I felt very safe.

Stayed here over the last bank holiday weekend. We experienced a very welcoming atmosphere and were given a choice of a high or low floor room. Everything was clean and working and the staff were very courteous. A free complimentary breakfast was given as an addition. The hotel is situated only yards away from a metro stop. Thank you so much!!

Small crowded reception area & right next to 4 lifts. 2 of the lifts not visible so had to listen for them & run to catch. The reception staff were friendly & helpful. Rooms were fine, comfortable & clean. Hotel has parking but charged at £12 per 24hrs. Location great, near to shops

Staff were pleasant. Even little interactions with cleaners/maintenence staff. Rooms were fresh and clean. So big shout out to the cleaners for that! I can't not mention the issues with the room though. The first room we checked in to had a TV that didn't work. We weren't too worried as we didn't come to have our eyes glued to a TV anyway. While playing about with the TV my wife called me from the bathroom to say she couldn't get out. The sliding door was jammed so I had to come and open it to get her out. There was no handle on the door interior either and when shut it left a 1 inch gap. Room 1709 for reference. After promptly reporting this we were quickly moved to the next door room. This room didn't have a bathroom door that locked. Not a big issue for us. Overall good for the price. Would probably book somewhere else next time though.

The hotel itself has been recently renovated and is a great place to stay within walking distance of the arena. Sadly, the night we stayed, the fireworks went on until 1.30 am, so it was usually noisy on the 16th floor. But the food and service are always excellent. We will definitely be going back!

I stayed at the Hampton by Hilton when I was in the city for a work event. I had a lovely greeting from the very friendly receptionist and an easy check in. The room was clean, comfortable and had everything I needed for my stay. I was also at the back of the hotel so didn’t have any noise from the busy street at the front. The lifts were a bit of a nightmare, I waited a long time for it to arrive and then it took me about 5 minutes to get to the ground floor as they kept going up and down to different floors which didn’t seem to make much sense, other than that - a great stay with a lovely breakfast the next morning! Would recommend to anyone needing a hotel in Birmingham!

Really pleased. Friendly staff, nice, spotless room, a marvellous shower you don't need a master's degree to operate and good variety of breakfast dishes. Easy walk into town and right on the bus route if it's raining. I'd definitely stay again. And QUIET. Great.

Good location on Broad street with ample parking with decent sized bays, £12 night. Hotel staff helpful and friendly but busy. Breakfast was well catered for but dinner was extremely limited menu. 17 storey hotel with lifts that were playing up during my stay.

Great 2 night weekend stay at this hotel. Plenty of private easy to access safe parking connected to the hotel for £12 per 24 hours payable at reception. Nice clean room with everything you would need for a night away. Towels, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and even body lotion on pumps in the bathroom. Shower, iron and board, hair dryer, safe and TV. Desk and a couple of seats if needed. Access to the hotel is disabled friendly. All the staff were great, Hayley who was manager during our stay was very friendly and made us feel welcome the whole team at Hampton do a wonderful job. The breakfast was outstanding with a massive choice to cover anything you would want. The hotel location was great for the centre of Birmingham, it is on a busy strip and there are a few pubs and restaurants that get lively on the weekend evenings but I didn’t hear any noise once in the room. I would definitely recommend Hampton and would definitely stay there again next time I’m in Birmingham.

The hotel was nice and the location was also good. However, the lifts take too long to come and this led to crowding in the reception and some guests having to take the stairs. Wasn’t great for those who were on the top floor. Also had issues with keys not working, which meant having to all the way back to reception to get it fixed. The curtains in the room was also very thin and so it gets bright quite early in the summer.

Very clean and tidy hotel. Staff were brilliant. In a good place for visiting to see the sights. Cheap carpark too £12 for 24 hours. Room was good with a nice view and shower was amazing. Breakfast was included which was buffet style with plenty on offer. Would stay here again.

After checking out immediately out of a budget hotel, this place was great. The rooms were clean and spacious. Also, the breakfast is a perfect addition to make your stay comfortable and convenient. The number one plus for this hotel is the location. Overall, great place. My suggestion would include cleaning the hallways and reception area better. Our first impression when we arrived was not amazing.

Liked - The hotel was in a very good location and the room was a very nice size with a comfortable chair and foot rest. The bed was very comfortable and cozy..we had excellent nights sleep. Room service was very efficient but could have left more sugar in the tea and coffees. Disliked - Unfortunately, I found the breakfast disappointing, it was luke warm every day we ate and we were there for 4 days, the scrambled eggs were watery and there was a lack of variety of breakfast cereals. The bathroom sink was unsuitable for people who are short in size. I am 4ft 11" and found it difficult to reach the sink bowl as it was too far back, therefore I had to lean forward everytime I wanted to wash my hands or brush my teeth. I was also shocked at the response to a fire alarm that went off before we checked out. We made our way downstairs and saw a staff member on the third floor. I asked if we should evacuate and she said yes, we need to stay in reception. There was only a few visitors in the reception area but there was no communication from any of the staff, to let us know what was going on or even if we were allowed to return to our rooms. After we no longer heard the alarms going off, we approached the reception and waited for a member of staff as they had all left. When the receptionist returned I asked if we were allowed to return to our rooms, she then said off course. I would really hate to think if this happened at a time when the hotel was full, that this would be the response.

Lovely room, wonderful breakfast. Really let down by the tropical heat setting in reception/bar/restaurant area, felt like I needed a change of clothes after being in the area for 5 minutes. Staff on my late night check in and visit to the bar were great. Not a nice walk from New Street station at night with all the night life in the area, once inside you would never know it was there though.

A delightful 2 night stay free of problems and stress. Just what is required for a pleasant peaceful stay. Comfortable room and bed. Complimentary toiletries with powerful hot shower. Excellent choice and quality for breakfast. Helpful staff. Also had sole use of small gym before breakfast on both mornings. Lift service quick, check out fast. Parking £12pn adjoining hotel. Quiet when we were there. Great location for canals, restaurants, Sea Life Centre and Birmingham Arena. New tram route passes in front of hotel. TV signal not good enough for viewing. Limited storage for longer stays.

Although I was not very pleased with how I was welcomed at the premises by the manger for this hotel. The facility and other staff make up for it. There was a lady who assisted me with carrying my crying child so I could have my breakfast, the room I stay at this time had a working heating system which was very good as I had a baby travelling with me. The breakfast was very lovely, my room was cleaned and sofa bed made this time which was really helpful. Overall an alright experience and would stay again.

Lovely clean room, good breakfast although a little chaotic. My Food Saturday night, chicken burger, was a lot to be desired. I was given a free snack and soft drink in compensation but would if rather had my £12.95 back. My husband had a pizza which was lovely. This place is excellent for the City centre and the Arena where we were attending. Staff were excellent too.
