As soon as we walked in, the welcome was genuine and warm. We were a few hours early, reception called house keeping and checked if our room was ready and let us check in early. They gave the kids colouring packs, nice touch. The excellent service did not end there, the bar/restaurant team were equally as attentive and maintained a amazing service level. Back and forth with salt/pepper or drinks requests. Nothing was too much attitude. The rooms were clean, good condition and modern. This is excellent value for money and great location with parking too.

Excellent experience. Really enjoyed our time there. Breakfast was really nice. Late checkout was complimentary. Nice easy walk to bullring centre. I usually stay at Hyatt Regency Birmingham when visiting but will now be staying here.

Today the outside temperature is -2 degrees and the room was cold. We asked the service team to increase the temperature in the room but they said it was broken so they brought in a portable heater. However, the heating was still inefficient and still felt cold in the room. An alternative room was offered which was warm but the heater was very noisy. The manager did not offer anything as a goodwill gesture. Very disappointed as I am an IHG member and have always enjoyed my stays.

The hotel has a great location. You can easily walk to Birmingham's city centre. Rooms are nice & clean and the cleaning staff is very polite. However, the night shift security's attitude has to change. Story time: I stayed at this hotel for an annual company Christmas Party. Arriving at the hotel past midnight, there was no food available at the hotel, all club lounges being closed. We got some takeaway, and without any disturbing behaviour, we wanted to eat in the lobby. One staff member had a very rude attitude, saying that we can not eat there outside food. Some hotel guests approached us and mentioned that they have the same issue and that this must change. Apart from this incident, the breakfast food was various, with many tables options available.

Helpful friendly staff. Breakfast decent (I do like black pudding in a cooked breakfast!), although I thought the coffee from the machines was horrible. Room comfy and a good size. Air con worked well, and could open the window a bit to cool room down quickly. Downside at the moment is the work replacing the lifts, only two (or at one point just one) working!

Such a poor experience at this hotel. Check-in took over 30 minutes, there was a massive queue of people and there was not enough staff to cope with the demand. After checking in, I was given a key to room 332. However, the key did not work in the door and there was actually another customer in the room. I then had to go all the way back to reception and wait to be served again. The second room key worked, for 910. This whole process took almost an hour - utterly ridiculous. The air conditioning in the room also did not work, I had it on the lowest setting but it only produced hot air.

We visited here with the family booked two family rooms, they never mentioned about air-conditioning not operational, the bathroom light not working and plug points not supplying power. With all these faults we were given this room and when we tell the reception the front office supervisor ( I know the name but don't want to mention here) she was rude and blaming us of burning the sockets using some sort of extension instead fixing the problem. Then the air-conditioning, she tells us that unless customer stays in and notice the problem and reports they will not do any maintenance. This lady in the front office is not suitable to handle customer service and should be some where hidden away from dealing with guests. The rooms are bit smelling and the desks are sticky and bathroom is small with high powered shower spilling everywhere. Not worth staying in this hotel with the price tag. There are better options around the City.

First visit to Birmingham and we booked this fantastic hotel. The service from all staff from start to finish was amazing. At breakfast there was something for everyone and the quality of the food was very good. Breakfast staff also fantastic, very welcoming and friendly. Honestly haven't got a bad word to say about this hotel and the staff. Nothing short of brilliant. Thank you for making our stay that much better.

The hotel staff are lovely. Most especially the Catering Team are fabulous - very hardworking, inclusive, conscientious, and thoughtful. Sharon was superb, as always. And we also received very attentive care from Jessie, Magda, and Christina. What a great team, so welcoming and thorough. A lovely young woman from Walsall on the Front Desk also made us feel really welcome each and every time we passed through the area. These people are a credit to IHG. And the job cannot be easy!

Family rooms are spacious and clean, but furniture is older version, it needs an update with all the modern hotels around the country. Breakfast is full English breakfast buffet and other options, a great start for the day. No room slippers, and we tried calling housekeeping and the reception the first night we checked in but no one answered. I left a voice message for the housekeeping but no one bothered to call back too. Location is central but you need to walk to get to the other side of the road. The hotel is located on an up hill on a higher position the the main road. A short walk to the water canal.

A good hotel in most respects. The staff were personable, the room was clean, quiet and the shower was good. Breakfast wasn't great, even for a typical fried buffet, but acceptable if you forget how much you're being charged for it. The reason I won't be back though is the parking. It's a £21 charge per 24 hours, which depending on your room, is a significant % increase in the overall cost of the stay. There are plenty of alternatives to the Crowne Plaza in and around the city so I recommend trying one of them instead.

I was here for a first aid course. I was early and had a coffee downstairs first. The ladies serving were lovely, welcoming and friendly, however the course had paid for coffee and biscuits, we had ours but everything went very quickly and our trainer discovered another course had taken our refreshments. He was told that we would get a refill but that never happened. Poor service we thought. On the flip side the room was pleasant, a little small if anything but certainly clean and nicely decorated.

I go here for a course every month and the staff are always really helpful and friendly. The rooms are really great, the showers are great and the beds are super comfy. Food around lunchtime for my course is amazing as are any food supplies they bring us throughout the day. Parking as a bit of a pain and I get lost around Birmingham a lot but the hotel itself is lovely.

The Crowne Plaza Birmingham provided me with an enjoyable overnight stay. It was simple to get there by public transportation. The staff were friendly, kind, and courteous from the outset. The club floor room was spacious and well-equipped for charging multiple devices; it also included a variety of amenities such as tea making facilities, bottled water, an iron, robes, and an in-room safe. The breakfast service was excellent; I was greeted in the dining room by a lady with a big smile, and the food was delicious too. I'm already making plans for 2023!

Whilst the hotel is well situated with fine amenities, be extremely wary of parking arrangements. Experienced check in issues, by time I’d worked at where to park I’d received a £100 fine. Then I was told that the only place for parking is underneath the hotel, another £21 to the same company that issued a fine. There is no where to park to check in. Hotel happy not to get involved, car park organisation does not take calls. Very disappointing visit!

Had a very nice stay here with my family. Room was very pleasant and free breakfast for children under 12 is a bonus. I stay in a lot of hotels for work, but rarely get to stay as a family. This will become a go to for both the next time we're staying in Birmingham City Centre.

Absolutely perfect venue for a great weekend. The staff from booking in, to leaving were all amazing and couldn’t do enough for us and always with a smile. Big well done to Silvia who is an absolute asset to the company and good luck to Sopina who was lovely and obliging on her first day/ week in her job. We will be back asap. Thanks again ❤️

probably the best hotel stay I've ever had in the UK!!! Richard on the main front desk was absolutely amazing - what a lovely kind guy !! He said he was just doing his job but he went over and above to make our stay as lovely as possible for us. What an asset he is to that hotel. Gorgeous room, staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was gorgeous and the hotel all in all was beautiful. Thanks again Richard, we will be back !!!!!

The service is lovely on every level; staff are welcoming, pleasant and helpful. Didn't like my room though, the twin beds were too small for us so not the best sleep and I do like to have a welcome pack to tell me about the hotel and services. It was nice and clean though and everything worked, so I'm sure it's just a matter of personal taste, but I think I'll skip the standard room next time. Parking a bit expensive too. Will go back though, it has a great location and overall was a nice place to stay.
