Loved it here, service was good, location is very nice with good shops around and the rooms were up to premier inn standard. Specifically I want to call out Jess, Trigun and Uignesh who were the main standouts in this impeccable service, thank you.

We had a very comfortable stay here. The hotel was very clean, and I was impressed with the clean cups and plates at breakfast. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Neha was very helpful at breakfast and ensured we were ok, we are fussy eaters, and she was patient and ensured we were happy. Also, Trigun on reception was very friendly and ensured our stay was comfortable. All the staff were great. We will definitely stay here again.

Have stayed here four times now and am always pleased with everything about the hotel. The breakfast which was cooked to order was excellent, best scrambled eggs I've had in a restaurant, just like being at home.

Was clean and tidy. But our family room was 31c the whole time so not much sleep as no Air con here. Breakfast looked nice but was cold (the cooked breakfast). Wouldn't stay at this one again.!

Best feature of this place is rooms are located on reasonable levels unlike the nearby high rise buildings. Would of been much better if the same price for the room was offered at hotel reception as on the premier inn app. Premier inn app worked but the banking app decided to crash on my phone on a Sunday evening. Receptionist suggested using the app to book because room rate was £10 cheaper which led to the assumption that customers had to use the app to book. Not until the question was asked 'can we just book at reception and make card payment here without using the app' was the facility made available. Importantly, the ensuite bathroom was fitted with a bath which is one of the reasons we stayed here in preference to some of the nearby hotels. Standard of the room was acceptable and would certainly use again if staying in Birmingham.

What you’d expect from an older Premier Inn. Familiar decor and facilities, just a little tired and worn out. Frayed carpets, damaged skirting boards, faulty TVs, dirt or mould in the bathroom caulking and un-vacuumed hallways. The staff are the ones who make this hotel though. Super friendly and welcoming and they genuinely seem to care about your stay.

We booked a Premier Inn as we know what to usually expect which helps my son and partner who are both autistic. Thankfully they let us check in early as the room was "cleaned" and we were knackered from the long drive and all the walking to SeaLife etc. We were also pleased we had a ground floor room. Unfortunately that's where we stopped being happy with the room. The curtain runner was hanging off and was triggering OCD. There were major dust bunnies under the bed. The rust and mould in the bathroom was insane, I didn't feel I could shower because the shower head, taps etc were all revolting. The single bed had a wobbly leg which was making my son nervous so we all had to fit on the double. And to top it all off they had somebody presumably fixing things in the room above us at gone 8pm. They kept waking my son with the constant hammering for over an hour. Who one earth thinks that's a good time to do maintenance above a family room?! The breakfast however was exceptional, and there was a lovely lady who's name I had taken note of, but have since forgotten, who was so helpful and instantly clocked that my son had autism and learning difficulties and was amazing trying to help us and placate him. We were honestly worried as it wasn't one of our usual Premier Inns who know us, but you really can't fault the staff, they are the best. Also a quick shout out to the lovely young lad who was present for checking out. He's a pokemaniac, so your young pokemon fans will no doubt find his pokemon knowledge amazing

The friendliest staff i have ever met at a premier inn. Owen was a fantastic welcome when we arrived. Was chatty and great with the kids. Made the stay feel special for them. At breakfast, the team where extremely helpful with the little ones' allergies. Special mention to Marie, who was super kind and understanding.

Attended Utilita Arena and this hotel within 5 minute walk along the canal. Room was ok. Comfortable bed and roomy considering there was also another single bed in the room presumably to use as a sofa although needed a clean. Shower hot and efficient. However, a couple of basics missing. No safe for valuables, no phone to reception, no iron/ironing board, no shower cap. The hand-wash dispenser had to be taken apart as the pump didn't work, and the room in general looked tired and in need of an upgrade. There was a horrible toilet smell in the main corridor. Suppose you'd get used to it after a while. We only stayed for one night so these things didn't bother us, just observations.

The hotel is well placed and had no issues with the rooms or breakfast. Unfortunately the car park is not secure, the security staff and managers will not contact the police when a crime is being committed and they do not have adequate enough CCTV to ensure criminals will be caught. This is within the hotel car park so I would strongly recommend not taking a vehicle to this location. To then find out there have been multiple nights when there have been car break ins and the police were not contacted is a joke. You also have to pay £13 for the pleasure of a headache and ruined day. Would recommend avoiding this hotel if you want to park and not have your car windows smashed.

Stayed here on Weds31 May. The guy on the front desk was brilliant which is why you are getting the 3 stars and not less. He was polite and engaging and friendly, unfortunately the same couldn’t be said for the rest of the staff. We were going to the arena so we booked the evening meal and breakfast deal. The room was exactly what you would expect, clean and comfortable. When we went for dinner, what a disappointment. There were only about 3 main meals and one vegetarian option. Very limited. The staff didn’t engage at all even though we said good evening, they were not interested in interacting with us at all. Breakfast was pretty much the same but I’ve got to say, I’ve stayed in around 40 premier inns across the country and this one was by far the worse I have ever visited for breakfast. The coffee machine went down so we had to use sachets, no milk so we had to ask a member of staff who took about 10 mins to get some. Hot breakfast, beans and hash browns, everything else was empty so I sat down and waited for the sausages and bacon etc to be cooked. When the chef put it out there was a queue of people waiting so by the time I got to the pass the bacon had all gone again? I asked for scrambled egg and the chef said I can make some but I had already waited 20 mins for the food to be cooked and the food I had already put on my plate before I knew there was no bacon was now cold. My wife is vegetarian and there was no vegetarian option ready. When she asked the chef said he could cook her some but again we would have to wait, if we wanted to eat together my food would have been cold by the time hers was ready. Very poor service and completely disorganised. Very disappointing and not what I have experienced in any of the other Premier Inns I have stayed at.

Reception were friendly and would have helped more if could have given better directions. Lift was grubby as was toilet in room. We booked family room which was tight for us an 2 grandsons and my wheelchair but you cannot book an accessible family room. Service painfully slow in restaurant and tables sticky

Friendly staff, good value for money, clean room, quiet, secure... Good variety of food in the breakfast. Juice quality was cheap, I had orange juice. Definitely recommend it 👌

The room was nice and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. I have noticed with a lot of premier inns that the room temperature is really hot/ stuffy and with no Aircon or windows that open properly it's very unpleasant

Just tucked out of the way behind Broad street is this little gem. This premier inn is everything you'd expect from the Purple Palace but the restaurant was a pleasant surprise, breakfast was so good in fact I spoke to the chef Jainal afterwards. Top marks. Would definitely rebook even if just for the food! Room was comfy and clean too

Very comfortable bed; slept very well. Breakfast good value and lots of good vegan options including This isn’t bacon and soya milk available without even asking for it! A few cobwebs in the room, limited tea/coffee facilities, no biscuits and limited shower/wash products

Had the most welcoming checkin service, all of the staff I saw on the day were lovely. The room was spacious and clean, yea and coffee available, good bathroom and a good premier inn bed. The location is perfect for a walk, I only went out for a coffee and then ordered a takeaway which i collection from the front door.

I slept in a two solo one double room and found it to be lovely other then one of the signal beds which was both shorter and narrower then the other signal bed. Asow keep in mind there is no a.c. For the summer months. The food in the in-house restaurant was ok. I found some bits to be a bit overcooked

Called here for breakfast while staying on the canal. Staff were outstanding, breakfast was really good and it was very clean. It just ran very efficiently. It deserves 5+ stars with the exceptionally good team on duty.

Room a bit tired but clean enough. Bed so comfy but linen torn. Nice shower, bath and toiletries. Excellent produce for breakfast but stone cold. Disappointing. Especially as the room cost four times as much as previous week. Unjustifiable

I want to thanks a lot mister Owen. Thanks for your unlimited kindness and professionalism. Always there for an advice, help and a nice chat. Thanks a lot ! If you are to Birmingham for a night or more, that’s the place to go : good people, good food, good bed, good price

Don’t be put off by the bad reviews!! Everything was amazing in this hotel. Darren and Owen were amazing and super helpful staff. Our room (110) family. Had everything we needed and was very clean. Slight problem and delay getting to the building as many roadworks from the trams. But all in all very good. Good food!! Amazing location just behind broad street was perfect to walk in! Definitely stay here again next time we come to Birmingham!! Fantastic!

The best Premier Inn I've ever stayed in (I've stayed in a lot) all staff were super friendly and approachable, we got bigger rooms than we booked for free and the hotel is a short walk from bars/clubs. Had a lovely stay here this Easter weekend and abseloutely amazing service, thank you!!

We could hear the room above stomping around which was annoying!! No sound proofing at all. Flat footed dwellers above made the room not very relaxing at all. Shame as the staff were lovely and perfect location for our needs.

Stayed in this hotel for 3 days during the heatwave. We are a family of 5 and had two rooms. We Initially Paid for the breakfast and meal deals upfront when booking. However, on the first night when ordering we were told that there was no Chef and all the food was cooked in a microwave. The usual food options such as mixed grill, gammon etc were obviously not available. The money for the meals were instant refunded with no hesitation at all. A big mention to the manager - Owen who was great upon arrival, full of life, pleasant and helpful. Also, the female members of staff during Breakfast were also helpful and made a fuss of our 7 year old daughter every day. Location is great for shopping approx 20 minute walk, nightlife and ‘sealife’ attraction only a 5 minute walk. (5 stars not awarded due to the poor evening food and lack of menu)

Room was a good size, comfortable and quiet. Hotel is conveniently located in the city centre. The main road, Broad Street, was one street away but there was no noise from the street. Tram and bus routes were on Broad Street - very handy. Some decor was damaged in the room - damaged curtain rail, broken clothes hooks in bathroom - these are things the cleaners should be reporting for maintenance. Breakfast was very enjoyable with a good selection of food for a continental breakfast and good selection of teas, coffee and fruit juices. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Do not accept a room next to the stairs 15 or 115 or 215 I guess. The noise of people using the stairs is too much. Parking is good and at £13.00 for 24 hours is not bad. Hotel is close to the main shopping area and bars. ( great bars are near the canal). Expect a 25 minute walk to get to Primark.

Premier Inn standards with excellent personal touches. Lovely quiet location, yet less than 5 minutes walk from the Utilita arena and a whole host of bars and restaurants. I highly recommend and I'll be back soon!

Brilliant location right in the city centre close to lots of restaurants. Rooms were very clean. No aircon in the room I was in. There was a free standing fan in the room. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were very welcoming and friendly.

Big fight in the next room and corridor in the early hours of the morning lots of screaming and sounded like the room was being smashed up. Wouldn’t honour the good night sleep guarantee because we wouldn’t go out into the fight to report it to the 1 security guard who was trying to deal with it. Reported to reception first thing next morning who told us to contact head office but that’s not good enough. The good night guarantee is an absolute con! Won’t use Premier again.

Another faultless stay at Premier Inn. Clean, comfortable room. Extra tea/coffee in reception. What more could you ask for? Special mention goes to Owen who was in reception when we arrived, serving in the restaurant for our evening meal & cooking breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble & he was extremely pleasant & chatty at every meeting. He made what is always a pleasant experience truly enjoyable. Top marks to him!

  • 2/5 Ethan K. 1 year ago on Google
The staff were lovely, can’t fault them or the room, but we were kept awake ALL NIGHT by stomping upstairs and in the corridors, and doors slamming constantly at the entrance and in the hallways. Some serious sound proofing and soft closing doors are needed. We were kindly offered complimentary breakfast but a good nights sleep was what we paid for. Insufficient parking on site, which in any case is paid but we had to park a 5 minute walk down the road and pay £21 for one night.

Nice hotel, good size room, strong shower and great breakfast. The staff are great especially Owen who was always happy to help and seemed to do abit of everything to a great standard. Would definitely stay here again and not just because of the convenient location

The rooms were clean and tidy. We're a few general wear and tear as you'd expect. A good car park feels secure. Good location as its just of the main street. But I'm writing this as Owen was amazing! I'm not a morning person but he made me one that day. He was so lovely and welcoming made me feel valued. He was chatty and friendly gave recommendations. He was just amazing. I hope he sees this and should be told he's doing an amazing job! We will be visiting again just to see him! Honestly he's a vital asset to company and the business!

Purely down to the staff! Preeti who checked us in was welcoming, helpful and friendly. There was another man that worked there who’s name I didn’t get that was so lovely and then Darren who was working in the evening and served us in the bar putting up with 10 women was great. Have stayed in lots of premier inns but have never met a nicer team of staff. All of our group commented on how nice the staff were. For this reason I would definitely recommend and would definitely stay again.
